Monday A.M.

It was only 8:00 a.m. and Baekhyun already wanted to go home. He was in no mood to sit through any lectures or do any work, all he wanted to do was sit and not have to use his brain. He wished with his entire being that he was home under his covers asleep and warm and away from all the noise and work of school but he wasn't. He let out a long sigh and looked out the window, wishing that by some miracle the sun would shine a little brighter and warm up the chilly day. For some unexplainable reason the cold made him even more sleepy, at least if it were warm he could make it through the day without accidentally falling asleep in class again.

"Hi, Baekhyun" Baekhyun hesitantly looked away from the window he had been absentmindedly staring out of. He really wasn't ready to be social just yet. It was barely eight in the morning, he was still waking up but he couldn't ignore people just because he wasn't in the mood to socialize. He looked up, two girls stood around his desk, looking back down at him with matching nervous expressions on their red faces.

"We were wondering if you could let us borrow your math notes?" The blonde shorter one squeaked in a high-pitched tone. It reminded Baekhyun of a little girl’s voice, her baby voice was cute in an odd kind of way. It was innocent and pure unlike her intentions.

"Y-yeah we didn't understand Mr. Choi's lecture from Friday..." The taller brown haired girl blushed harder as she looked everywhere but at Baekhyun's face. She had incredibly pink pouty lips and when she spoke it made them purse in a way that was somehow . It was odd because everything else about her was little, from her brown eyes all the way to her tiny pigeon-toed feet. Once again Baekhyun found himself finding the innocence of her little body somewhat adorable.

"Sure." Baekhyun replied politely, he smiled as he took out his messily written notes from his notebook.  As the taller girl grabbed the notes she let her hand "accidentally" brush against his, she giggled and quickly retracted her hand as if she hadn't just planned the whole thing. Baekhyun internally sighed. As soon as he handed his notes over he let his smile drop and looked away from the two girls. It was clear what they really wanted and he wasn't interested.

If you're a guy and you like a girl the first thing you'd notice would be her face first, followed by her legs, and then her chest? Baekhyun frowned. It sounded shallow when he phrased it like that but it was the truth because other than that what else was there to liking someone?

It's human nature to judge by appearance. It's not just guys who are shallow. No one cares about what's on the inside.

Baekhyun let his gaze drop. The morning sun had finally decided to come out and the light it was emitting had begun to sting his eyes. He smiled; at least his wish had come true. The sun was finally out.

"He's so cute!"

"I know I wish he'd notice me."

Baekhyun overheard the two girls giggling as they walked away to sit in their assigned seats towards the front of the room, which just so happened to be right next to each other.

Boys can be shallow but so can girls...like those girls who only liked him for his face. It was always like this, a cycle of shallow attraction seemed to follow him everywhere. He was blessed with a somewhat conveniently attractive face. His good lucks attracted girls like bees to honey. He used to love the attention but lately it had begun to feel like a trap-his face was bait for shallow people and he hated it.

Baekhyun glanced back out the window. The sun was bright and shinning but there was still a couple of heavy looking gray clouds lingering around. The clouds made everything look stark and bleak; one monotonous giant blob of a day was how Baekhyun would describe it. Even though the weather was ty he'd give anything to go outside and feel the fresh air on his face. Maybe he could sneak out during afternoon break, Mr. Kim would never notice. Even with all the planning he knew he wouldn’t make it all the way to noon without a little powernap. He yawned loudly and sighed when he realized he had given the two girls the notes he needed to study for his test later. He could go ask them for his notes back but he really didn't want to talk to them more than he had to. But then again he also didn't want to fail his test

As he wrestled internally between what to do he suddenly felt a sharp smack to the back of his head. "Owe, that hurt! Geez what do you want?" Baekhyun quickly spun his head around already knowing who the culprit was. He rubbed at the now throbbing spot on the back of his head where he had been hit. "Did you hit me with your fist just now? You did, didn't you? How scary!" Baekhyun groaned. The short girl smirked as she hopped up to sit on the top of his desk. She looked down at him, frowning disapprovingly like a mother who had just caught her son cheating on his homework. Baekhyun already knew that she wasn't going to apologize, in fact judging from her expression Baekhyun almost felt like she was pleased with what she had done.

"Taeyeon!" Baekhyun exclaimed suddenly when the scowling girl completely ignored him and reached out and flicked his forehead.

Taeyeon was his senior. Because of her higher status she was assigned the duty of being class officer. She was like a very annoying but very pretty nagging mother. She was always telling every body what and what not to do. Baekhyun was sure she would've been unpopular if she weren’t so pretty. She had doll like features, wide eyes, pink lips, and a little button nose. She always wore her hair down; it was so long it reached all the way to her lower back. She was short but adorable. Like a little innocent mouse which Baekhyun found hilarious because her image didn't match her violent personality in the slightest. She was more like a raging bull.

"It's because you do dumb things with your face like yawn while making such an idiotic expression that the girls you date end up dumping you so fast!" Taeyeon sat up straight and folded her small hands in her lap as if she were about to say something extremely important which Baekhyun knew she wouldn't be. "It's about time you started paying attention to things like that and try to correct them! It's a shame you were born with such a nice face and do nothing with it but make yourself look as ugly as possible."

"Yeah, yeah I get it." Baekhyun sighed. He looked out the window, he could already tell by the way Taeyeon's voice was straining that she was about to go on another one of her rants. He rested his head in his hand, might as well get comfortable. He closed his eyes and tried to tune Taeyeon's nauseating voice out.

"Hey! Are you even listening to me? Open your eyes!" Taeyeon rapidly snapped her fingers in front of Baekhyun's closed eyes. "That is so rude!" Taeyeon fumed when he refused to open them. "Girls hate it when you ignore them, Baekhyun! If you keep acting like this, your girlfriends going to dump you!"

"Thanks for the concern but she already did."

"She dumped you?" Taeyeon gasped surprised.

"Yup."

"When?"

"Yesterday."

"Wow, really?" Taeyeon shook her head in disbelief. "I can't believe Irene dumped you, she's the nicest girl in this entire school, I didn't think she had it in her to dump anyone." Taeyeon scoffed, "I didn't think it was possible but you managed the impossible." Taeyeon hopped off the desk. Her pink lips were stretched into a teasing smile. "So, why'd she dump you?"

"She told me that I wasn't the person she thought I was. Her exact words were that my face didn't match my personality."

"See, I told you!" Taeyeon exclaimed. "Poor Irene, she's had a crush on you ever since year one, she used to call you a prince in the girls locker room all the time and now you've ruined her fantasy!"

"It's her own fault for assuming my personality in the first place," Baekhyun proclaimed, he wasn't trying to get angry this early in the morning but Taeyeon was making it incredibly hard not to. "You girls are all the same, you’re always the ones to confess to me first but then you guys get disappointed when I'm not what you expected me to be."

"You're wrong, you can't blame us girls for assuming." Taeyeon countered, "There's a huge gap between your personality and your appearance, it's practically a scam."

Baekhyun rolled his eyes. Clearly his words had gone right over Taeyeon’s short little head. "How am I a scam just because of my personality? Please enlighten me."

"Explain?" Taeyeon repeated, she stood quiet for a while. Baekhyun knew the silence wouldn't last long but he wished it did, he regretted asking her to explain in the first place. He could've gotten rid of her much sooner if he had just kept his mouth shut.

"Okay, I thought of a good example that someone even as dumb as you will be able to understand." Taeyeon said in a snarky tone, "When we're in P.E. class and you're drawing your bow you look beautiful. Even though I know how annoying you are I still catch myself thinking-" Taeyeon paused, "How should I phrase this? When I see you drawing your bow there's a very stoic aura around you, you look like a prince. But it's a lie, your personality is that of a peasant and that's how you're a scam. Girls expect a prince but instead they get a lowly commoner with a terrible personality!"

"Then they should get it in their thick heads that perfect guys like those from a book or a TV drama don't exist. It's 2016, princes only exist in fairytales." Baekhyun retaliated.

"You're hopeless." Taeyeon growled. "This is why you always get dumped."

"So, was there a reason you came to talk to me or did you come here just to insult me?" Baekhyun demanded.  This conversation had gone on much longer than he wanted and he'd very much love to end it. Especially since the topic was one he didn't feel very much like discussing, especially with his ex-girlfriend.

"I'm not insulting you! I'm-"

"Sorry to interrupt your conversation but I need to know if the thing we planned last Friday is still in effect?" A short boy with glasses and a clipboard clutched to his chest intoned apologetically. The boy was standing off to Taeyeon's side and he looked like he was regretting every word he had just said.

Taeyeon turned around. "Oh, it's just you Junmyeon, I thought you were someone important. What plan?"

"The h-home room morning pizza party, r-remember? S-since it's the o-one week countdown for winter break this week you said we should h-have a party each morning to treat the s-students before leaving." Suho stuttered. Baekhyun could actually see the short boy shrink under Taeyeon's intense gaze. It was moments like these that reminded Baekhyun that Taeyeon was class representative for a good reason. It was amazing how she commanded so much authority with such a small body.

"Yes, it's still in effect. Did I ever tell you that it wasn't? Where are the pizzas? There's only forty minutes left of home room!" Taeyeon growled. Baekhyun stifled a laugh because he was absolutely sure that she had forgotten. For the short two weeks that they had dated he noticed that Taeyeon was a very forgetful person.

"S-sorry, they aren't here! I asked my neighbor to bring the pizzas since his homeroom is right next door to us but he won't answer any of my calls!" Junmyeon squealed. His face was so pink that he actually did look like a squealing little pig. "I asked him if he could pick them up for me since I don't have my license yet! He said it was no problem but now he won't answer-"

"Who is this that you asked? Tell me his name so I can personally pay him a visit later for ruining our pizza party!" Taeyeon raged. Her small hands were balled into fists at her sides. Baekhyun was concerned for poor Junmyeon, he looked so scared that it wouldn't have surprised him if the short boy passed out right then and there.

"It's Chanyeol!" Junmyeon cried.

"Chanyeol? As in Park Chanyeol?" Taeyeon's cheeks colored as she repeated the name out loud. "Why would you ask him, are you dumb or just brainless? Today's Monday you idiot." Taeyeon snapped angrily, her cheeks turned redder and Baekhyun had a pretty good guess as to why they were.

"Huh? I don't get what the day of the week has to do with anything?" Junmyeon asked tensely.

"Today's Monday which means it's the day that he'll definitely say yes." Baekhyun explained matter-o-factly.

"Huh? I don't understand?" Junmyeon looked like a gaping fish. He looked so frazzled that Baekhyun was sure that the boy’s brain had turned to mush.

"Didn't you say that Chanyeol was your neighbor?" Baekhyun chuckled at the confused expression on Junmyeon's face. "You don't know very much about him it seems." Baekhyun laughed, "I hardly know the guy, I only see him occasionally on the rare days that he decides to show up for archery practice but I still know about his weird dating habit."

"What dating habit?" Junmyeon asked hesitantly.

"Chanyeol will go out with anyone who asks him for exactly one week, the only thing is that you have to ask him on Monday and you have to be the first one to ask him or else he'll already be taken." Taeyeon explained slowly, "And at the end of the week he'll tell his partner exactly this: I couldn't fall in love with you, let's break up."

"Is this real or are you guys p-playing a prank on me?" Junmyeon blushed, "I never heard of this before! How do you know this?"

"Why would I waste my time pranking a loser like you? I know this because I went out with him for exactly one week in October!" Taeyeon blushed bright red.

"God, why are you so proud of that?" Baekhyun huffed. He didn't understand Taeyeon's very obvious crush on Chanyeol. Every time she talked about him she'd blush like crazy, it was odd because blushing was something she rarely did.

"Because it felt like I had hit the jackpot when it happened! Chanyeol's the sweetest guy I've ever met in my entire life, if I could go out with him all over again I would."

The twinkling ring of the pokèmon theme song suddenly erupted. Baekhyun stifled a laugh when he realized that it was Junmyeon's phones ringtone. The nervous boy quickly answered his phone; he lit up, shouted a thank you then hung up.

"That was Chanyeol, he said he was around the corner and that he has the pizzas but he needs someone to help him carry them inside when he arrives." Junmyeon reported to Taeyeon excitedly. He was like an eager puppy trying to please its master.

"Hmm, why are you telling me this? Do you expect me to go get the pizzas myself?" Taeyeon rolled her eyes.

"Uh, no I was just..." Junmyeon whimpered. "I-I can't go get it cause i haven't taken my allergy medicine yet, I usually take it before lunch so I can go out and eat, m-my mom doesn't like it when I take it in the morning cause she says it aff-"

"Oh my god, I'll just go get it!" Baekhyun exclaimed. He was done with this entire conversation.

Baekhyun stormed out the classroom. He ignored the apologetic bow Junmyeon gave him and the victorious smirk on Taeyeon's face as he walked passed them.

By the time Baekhyun stepped outside he expected to see Chanyeol waiting for him with the pizzas but he wasn't there. He decided to take a seat on the ground by the black iron gates of the entrance of the school. Since his school was a private academy the entire area was gated so that the school was separated from the houses and buildings around it.  It was a luxury but Baekhyun just found it annoying. He felt like a caged animal. He leaned his head back against the gate and tried to get comfortable. It seemed Chanyeol had lied and really hadn't been "around the corner" as he had told Junmyeon. How long would he have to wait out here just to carry some damn pizza boxes! Baekhyun tried to focus on the positive; at least he had gotten what he wanted. He was outside, feeling the fresh air on his face. He smiled and took a large inhale of the crisp morning air; he let the air fill his lungs until he couldn't take any more in and then exhaled.

He checked his phones clock…only three minutes had passed by.

"Come on, get here already." Baekhyun murmured to him self. He shoved his phone back into his uniform jackets pocket. He closed his eyes and attempted to take a little nap but he was too uncomfortable. The gate made a terrible pillow and the ground made a horrible cushion. He reopened his eyes and found him self-thinking about what Taeyeon had said earlier. Chanyeol's the sweetest guy I've ever met in my entire life, if I could go out with him all over again I would. Taeyeon never praised people like that so the comment had really caught his interest. What kind of person was Chanyeol to earn Taeyeon's praise like that? He didn't know much about Chanyeol other than he was in his archery club but never went to practice and that he had a new girlfriend every week. He didn't understand why so many girls liked him or why Taeyeon would praise him because he sounded like a typical playboy to him. Why would any girl want to go out with a guy who had went out with practically every other girl in the school? It made zero sense.

The sound of an engine revving brought Baekhyun out of his mental wonderings. He looked up and rubbed his eyes to make sure what he was seeing was real. A glossy red Porsche was parked right in front of him. It was an arms length away and the windows were rolled up but he could still see who was inside of it. A woman with platinum blonde hair and a pair of large sunglasses covering her eyes was in the drivers seat. He observed her through the tinted window as she talked to the person in the passenger seat. Half of her face was covered because of the sunglasses but of what he could see-he could tell she was easily one of the most prettiest girls he had ever seen his life. He felt shallow even thinking the words but she was. Her lips were painted a dark red and it made her blonde hair look even brighter. He watched as she leaned over, thanks to his seated position he couldn't see the passenger side of the car or what the girl was doing. An endless second passed and then she pulled away. The passenger door opened and then closed immediately after the glossy red Porsche sped off.

Baekhyun looked up. He should've known it was him. It only made sense that it'd be Chanyeol. He was slowly walking over with five boxes of pizza in his large hands. Baekhyun never really saw Chanyeol, they had no classes together, he never saw him during lunch, and Chanyeol never really went to archery practice and on the rare times that he did they never socialized. He had never gotten a good look at Chanyeol until today. He could kind of see why so many girls went crazy over him. He was ridiculously handsome. He looked like one of those typical guys from his sister’s dramas. Chanyeol looked effortlessly charming, he was carrying five boxes of greasy pizza but he still managed to walk like he was walking on an invisible catwalk. It was sort of amazing. Baekhyun felt just like those two girls from earlier who had asked for his notes, he felt shallow. He shooed the shallow thoughts away and got up off the ground so he could help Chanyeol.

"Morning, Hyung." Chanyeol greeted pleasantly.

"Morning." Baekhyun replied smiling.   "You're late, I thought I'd have to wait our here all morning for you."

"You were waiting for me?" Chanyeol gaped. His wide eyes widened even more; it was something Baekhyun didn't even think was possible. He laughed at the expression.

"Yeah, I'm here to help you carry in the pizza boxes." Baekhyun grabbed two boxes from Chanyeol's arms and smirked, "So was that your girlfriend for the week? She looks a little to old for you, is she a college student?" Baekhyun asked curiously.  Since he had to walk all the way back to class with Chanyeol he figured he might as well initiate some small talk, plus he was curious about the pretty girl.

"You're not very observant are you, Hyung?" Chanyeol smiled playfully, "You're wrong on all accounts." His lips stretched into a wide grin and his eyes closed. On any one else the expression would've looked ugly but on Chanyeol it was nice. He looked genuinely happy. Baekhyun thought back to something Taeyeon had told him a couple months ago when her one week long relationship with Chanyeol had ended. The reason Chanyeol’s popularity doesn't drop even though he dumps every girl he dates is because he sincerely does everything his partner wants during the one week that they are going out. She would never admit it but he was absolutely sure that Taeyeon had fallen in love with Chanyeol during that one week. He laughed to him self; since it was Monday morning all the girls were probably all anxiously looking for Chanyeol right now.

"So, have you been confessed to today yet?"

"Hmm, not yet?" Chanyeol replied slightly confused at the sudden topic. "I didn't think upperclassmen knew about all that, Hyung?"

"News travels fast in a school like this." Baekhyun steadied the pizza boxes in his hand so he could close the gate behind them. He turned back around and smiled at Chanyeol and started walking. Chanyeol immediately followed behind him. "So, does that mean once we get inside the chaos will start, huh?"

"Maybe, since I'm late probably not."

"Then...are you really fine with anyone as long as they confess to you first?" Baekhyun murmured. An odd idea had settled its self in his mind and he wasn't sure what had brought it out. It had begun as a mental joke to him self but now it had snowballed into an actual idea.

Chanyeol nodded his head.

"Even if they're totally not your type?"

"My type?" Chanyeol repeated as if he had never thought of the word before. "What do you mean?"

"What I meant was isn't there a type of face or body that you like? Like slim or curvy, long hair or short hair? Tall or short?"

"Hmm, a type?" Chanyeol looked up into the sky, his wide eyes creased at the corners as the sun momentarily blinded him. He looked back down at the ground and smiled softly. "I'm not too sure about all that. I don't really think about looks like that," Chanyeol smiled, "Ah," Chanyeol eyes suddenly lit up, he looked up at Baekhyun's face and smiled a smile so radiant that it put the sun to shame. "But I like your face, Hyung. I guess that's what you mean by type, huh?"

"I see," Baekhyun gulped. The odd idea was now fully formed and it was on the tip of his lips. He was curious, how would Chanyeol react to his ludicrous idea? "How about it then?"

"Huh? What about what?" Chanyeol questioned while still smiling radiantly.

"Go out with me for the week?"

The radiant smile fell from Chanyeol's face. Once again his wide eyes grew even wider. Baekhyun burst out into a chorus of laughter at the hilarious expression. Poor Chanyeol, he looked like a much more handsome version of Junmyeon.

"Ah, your face is killing me!" Baekhyun wiped away the tears from his eyes and in a gulp of air. "It was a joke!"

"Do you have a cell phone, Hyung?" Chanyeol abruptly asked. His face was back to its usual calm expression.

"I do have one, why?" Baekhyun hiccupped. He was trying to calm down from his laughing fit by taking slow even breaths of air.

"I was hoping we could exchange numbers." Chanyeol smiled. He fished his phone out of his back pocket while juggling the three pizza boxes in his other hand. Baekhyun had to admit it was a bit impressive. But he didn't understand why Chanyeol suddenly wanted to exchange numbers. Had Chanyeol always been the type to want to keep in contact with friends?

He took his phone out and handed it to Chanyeol. He wasn't able to juggle the pizza boxes for too long so Chanyeol would just have to add his own number.

"Hyung, what's your given name?"

"Eh?" Baekhyun asked surprised, "Umm, it's Baekhyun but most people just call me Hyuna some of the girls even call me Hyunnie, it's a little bit embarrassing to be honest."

"Can I call you Baekhyun then?" Chanyeol frowned, "Hyuna is a name that's...difficult for me to say." Chanyeol laughed sheepishly.

"Hmm?" Baekhyun cocked his head to the side. "Why?"

"There was a woman who dumped me once before and coincidentally her name was Hyuna too." Chanyeol smiled but this time it looked forced.

"Yeah, sure, call me Baekhyun then." Baekhyun was a bit surprised. He couldn't believe someone like Chanyeol had once been serious about a girl. He theorized that if she was just another one of his one week flings then Chanyeol wouldn't have cared if he had the same name so maybe this girl had lasted longer? Or maybe he was just reading too much into things. Yeah, that's probably it.

After Chanyeol added their phone numbers to the phones they continued back to class where they unceremoniously delivered the pizzas. Nothing much happened after that, Chanyeol left back to his homeroom class without saying anything but not before Baekhyun told him to go to archery practice.

As Baekhyun walked home later that day he thought about a lot of things but mostly about Chanyeol. Before today he had never given any thought to the boy but now he couldn't help but think about him. Chanyeol was so much stranger than he thought he was, he was much more quiet and reserved, he wasn't the typical playboy at all. Well, maybe his actions were but his personality wasn't. Chanyeol was acting weird too, asking for his number like that. Baekhyun looked up into the sunny sky.  Chanyeol's radiant smile right before he had unloaded that joke on him came to the forefront of his mind. He couldn't have taken me seriously could he?

Tuesday A.M.

Chanyeol awoke to the sound of his phone ringing. His mind was groggy and his eyes felt as if they were glued shut but that small hopeful seed that bloomed inside him every time he heard his phone ringing forced him to open his eyes and answer the phone.

Was it Hyuna? He looked at his phone screen and saw her name flashing in bright black text across his screen. He closed his eyes. Of course it was Hyuna.

Hyuna was and always had been a free spirit. Whether it was before they dated, during, or after they split up-she always did and still does as she pleased. Chanyeol sighed, he pressed the red button under her name and chose to ignore her call.

"Baby steps." Chanyeol murmured to him self. He held the phone in his hand and waited for the series of messages he knew would be coming any second. His phone buzzed. He opened the message and sighed.

It's an emergency! Call me!

Chanyeol called her. He had no choice. She was an expert at reeling him in.

"Why didn't you answer the first time!" Hyuna's voice rang out loudly through the phone. "You meanie! You can't ignore me like that!"

Chanyeol waited for her to stop ranting. If he interrupted he knew she'd never stop. "I'm sorry, what did you want to tell me?" Chanyeol asked as soon as she was done.

"Drive over here to Hongdae and pick me up! I don't have a ride right now because your brother had the Porsche and I don't want him to know I'm here!"

Chanyeol sighed, "No."

"That's so mean! Why not? You gave me a ride yesterday, I need you today too, Chanyeolie!" Hyuna whined.

"I was single yesterday so it was okay. I'm not going to meet with you alone."

"This again?" Hyuna laughed, "You'll just break up in a week, what does it matter?"

"I'm going to hang up."

"What kind of person is she this time, Chanyeolie?" Hyuna giggled.

"Same school as me, a year older." Chanyeol responded blandly.

"Is she cute?"

Chanyeol halted. He hadn't ever given the question any thought. He closed his eyes and imagined Baekhyun's face. He hardly saw Baekhyun but he could vividly recall the first time he had ever seen him. It was during his very first archery practice. He remembered watching Baekhyun demonstrate to the class how to properly hold a bow. He remembered being struck by how beautiful Baekhyun looked holding the bow...it was like a prince from a movie. That had been a year ago and he had forgotten the memory until now.

"I wouldn't say cute,"

"Oh, really? Then what is she!"

"It's more like beautiful."

"More beautiful than I am?" Hyuna teased. He could practically see the pout on her lips.

"I can't really compare you two to each other." Chanyeol answered honestly.

He heard Hyuna laugh loudly, "That’s what I love about you, Chanyeolie. Come out and play when you’re single again, okay?"

Chanyeol sighed for what felt like the hundredth time that morning. "Why don't you just get back with my brother already?"

"I hate it when you say stuff like that! Bye!" Hyuna huffed. The line went dead.

Chanyeol lolled his head to the side. He put his phone in the air and stared at the picture of Hyuna that he had set as her contact picture. It was one he had taken last year when they had gone to a firework festival during fall. It had only been the two of them. She was his whole world back then, everything he did revolved around her. That memory of that chilly fall day, driving through the city on their way to the festival, just the two of them in the car, Hyuna's feet on the dashboard and his hands on the steering wheel while they sang songs at the top of their lungs-was Chanyeol's favorite memory. But he couldn't think about her or any of that right now. He was in a relationship; he had to concentrate on Baekhyun.

He closed his eyes as Baekhyun's proposal played out in his mind.

So, why don't you go out with me?

Baekhyun's proposal had completely surprised him. They weren't necessarily friends and he didn't know Baekhyun knew about the one-week thing. He was also surprised that someone as popular as Baekhyun didn't already have a girlfriend. Most third years he knew were in serious relationships. Maybe Baekhyun was just like him and was unlucky in love too? Chanyeol smiled; maybe he'd fall in love this time? He couldn't help but feel somewhat hopeful at the beginning of each week. A voice in the back of his mind was telling him that he was being foolish. He never ended up feeling anything for the other person. They'd just split up and repeat again and again and again. All he had was seven days to see what was in his heart, to see if he could fall in love...seven days to forget about Hyuna.

Chanyeol rolled over; he grabbed his phone and sent a good morning text to Baekhyun. He rolled back over and closed his eyes to try to get a few more minutes of sleep. A good morning text was a habit; it was a staple of dating. He had sent countless of them before to countless other girls. Ideally he'd love to be able to send them to only one person. A second later his phone buzzed. He rolled over and looked at the message Baekhyun had sent him. There were two messages.

Good morning.

What I mean is...I hate you for waking me up so early in the morning.

Chanyeol stared at the message. Unbeknownst to him a smile bloomed across his face.

This was...unexpected.

Chanyeol didn't know what to do. He had never gotten this sort of reply to a good morning text. Every girl he had dated loved receiving good morning texts. Chanyeol sat for a few seconds and thought of his next move. Baekhyun seemed to act completely different than he had first initially thought. His outside didn't match his personality at all. It was honestly kind of cute. After pondering what to do Chanyeol finally decided he'd just call Baekhyun. He pressed the phone icon beside Baekhyun's name and waited for him to answer.

"Hello...?" Chanyeol asked hesitantly when he heard the phone pick up.

"Are you an idiot? Hey, you're an idiot aren't you?" Baekhyun's voice was barely recognizable. It was evident he had just woken up. It was adorable, he sounded like a grumpy child who had just been woken up from his nap. Chanyeol couldn't help but laugh.

"Yes, I'm an idiot. Sorry."

"Don't laugh when you're apologizing! Waking me up at this ungodly hour, and now I can't get back to sleep, what now? Make it up to me."

"Well, what do you think I should do?" Chanyeol asked while trying to hold back his laugh. It was incredibly difficult; Baekhyun was much funnier than he had thought too.

"God, I'm so pissed right now I just want to punch you in the face."

"Oh, how about I go over so you can punch me right now?" Chanyeol joked light heartedly. He got worried when there was no reply. Had he crossed the line? He suddenly heard light snores from the other end. Had Baekhyun fallen asleep?

"Baekhyun?" Chanyeol called out tensely. What if Baekhyun got angry again for waking him up? He didn't want to wake the sleeping dragon.

"Yes?" Baekhyun answered sleepily.

"Did you just fall asleep?" Chanyeol laughed.

"No!" Baekhyun yelled, "I was just thinking!"

"Thinking about what?" Chanyeol grinned at the obvious lie.

"I've made up my mind, I want you to come to archery practice today after school."

"Archery practice...?"

"Don't answer with a question! You belong to the archery club don't you!"

"Y-yeah?"

"I've decided I'll get my revenge on you for waking me up this early during practice, you better not skip!" The line went silent. Baekhyun had hung up.

Chanyeol stared at his phone screen. He had no pictures of Baekhyun so he had no contact picture for him.

Club practice? Chanyeol smiled, well he guessed that was fine. He hadn't been there in awhile and if Baekhyun wanted him to go he had no choice but to do as he wanted. Baekhyun was his boyfriend after all.

When Chanyeol showed up to archery practice he was slightly amazed by how cool all the students looked in their traditional white archery uniforms. It had been awhile since he had come so he was shocked by many things like how much better everyone had gotten-especially Baekhyun. He watched from the sidelines as Baekhyun stood in front of the target board. His stance was just as elegant as he had remembered it. His bow and arrow were raised high, just slightly above his head right next to his cheek. His hooded eyes were deadlocked on the target; he looked like a prince just like in Chanyeol's memory. Baekhyun took one big breath and then just like that let his arrow go. Chanyeol held his breath; he followed the arrow and jumped up in excitement with the rest of the archery club when the arrow landed right in the center of the board.

"Yes! Dead center!" Baekhyun exclaimed happily while jumping up and down. "Did you see that Minseok, I told you I'd do it!" Baekhyun ran over to a brown haired third year and poked his cheeks teasingly. The third year then squatted down and carried Baekhyun over his shoulder.

"Stop gloating! It was impressive but it wasn't anything special!" The third year set Baekhyun back down and ruffled his hair.

"It indeed was impressive but it would've been even more outstanding if you hadn't had that outburst after you landed your shot." Mr. Han, the archery coach said sternly. "You were the perfect picture of elegance until that last part, we talked about this."

Baekhyun pouted. He grabbed his bow and sulked his way to the back where the rest of the third years were seated. Chanyeol couldn't help but feel bad for him.

"Second years take your places, you'll be shooting next." Mr. Han called out.

Chanyeol shooed the thoughts about Baekhyun out of his mind and went to take his stance in front of the target. He'd have to focus if he wanted to get through practice. He threw his first arrow. It missed. He took a deep breath. It was hard to focus because he could feel Baekhyun's eyes glued on him.

‘I'll get my revenge on you for waking me up this early during practice.’

Baekhyun didn't have to do anything because just having him there staring was making him extremely nervous. He closed his eyes and tuned everything out. He opened them and took his last final shot. It landed right in the center. He smiled.

"Wow, Chanyeol got a bullseye!"

"He doesn't even come to practice and he's still better than me that's bull!"

"Some people are just born talented, get the over it."

"Too talented if you know what I mean?"

"Yeah, I wish he'd miss just once."

Chanyeol wondered if they knew he could hear them. It was distracting and a bit embarrassing. He tried to tune them out but it was hard. He subconsciously wanted to know what his peers truly thought of him.

"Shut up!" Chanyeol turned around and saw Baekhyun staring down at the two third years that had been talking about him. Baekhyun was much shorter than them and considerably probably much weaker but he still stared them down like he'd hit them if they dare said another word. Chanyeol was in shock. He looked at Baekhyun and felt a strange warmness settle in his stomach. Baekhyun abruptly looked up and shot him a smile and a thumbs up.

"Ignore these s, Chanyeol, I for one don't think you're that great and your aim could use a little improvement! Don't listen to a word they said, keep practicing!" Baekhyun smiled happily, his plump lips stretched into a little rectangle and his eyes closed up into two crescents.

Chanyeol had always thought Baekhyun looked the most beautiful when he was drawing his bow...that was until today.

Tuesday P.M.

Attention all passengers. Please keep clear of the doors as they close. Keep your hands and feet...

Baekhyun sighed loudly. It had been a long day. He stretched his feet and arms out, he groaned when he heard his arms crack. It was a good kind of crack, it was a sign he had had a good practice today. He yawned and leaned back into his seat. He looked at Chanyeol through the side of his eye. It was a little weird that Chanyeol was riding the train with him. He had never seen him on the train before but it wasn't like he owned the train so he couldn't ask Chanyeol why all of the sudden he was here. They were seated next to each other; the sky outside was faded pink and blue. It was Baekhyun's favorite time of day.

"Practice was fun, maybe I should come more often." Chanyeol suddenly said. "I was a bit scared since you said you'd get your revenge on me but it was fun."

"You were late to practice today but I guess I'll forgive you since you stood till the very end." Baekhyun yawned. "And who said this was the practice I’d be getting my revenge on you at?" Baekhyun laughed, "You better watch your back, you never know when I might hatch my evil plan."

We have reached -----. Please exit to your right in an orderly fashion.

"Hey, isn't this your stop?" Baekhyun questioned curiously when Chanyeol didn't budge from his seat. He recalled during the first day of archery club when all of the new additions to the club had to go around and introduce themselves that Chanyeol had said he was from this area.

"Yeah, it is." Chanyeol replied quietly.

"So how come you're still sitting here?"

"I'll go with Hyung all the way to his stop." Chanyeol wasn't even looking at him when he replied. His eyes were peacefully looking ahead as if what he had just said wasn't weird at all.

"Why would you do that?" Baekhyun asked surprised.

"So I can be with you a bit longer."

Baekhyun gasped. He bit his lips so he wouldn't make another embarrassing sound like that again. Why was Chanyeol acting like this-oh god, did Chanyeol think? But there was no way...it had obviously been a joke!

"Uh, Chanyeol can I ask you something?" Baekhyun murmured nervously. He looked down at his lap and folded his hands. They felt all sweaty for some reason and he didn't like it.

"Sure, ask me anything you want."

"Umm," Baekhyun laughed awkwardly, he was more nervous than he had been during his math quiz yesterday. He looked up at Chanyeol but then quickly looked away back down at his lap. He couldn't believe he was actually going to have to ask this. "A-are we supposed to be dating right now?"

"Of course." Chanyeol replied completely serious.

"I see," Baekhyun laughed awkwardly. Why was he even surprised, he had been the one to ask Chanyeol out. Even though it had been as a joke that turned into a stupid idea...but maybe this wasn't such a bad thing. "I guess I'll do my best to enjoy my one week then." Baekhyun smiled cheerfully.

We are approaching the next station; please exit to your right-

"Let's go!" Baekhyun grabbed Chanyeol's hand and pulled him up.

"But this isn't your stop!" Chanyeol called out but Baekhyun had already pulled them out the train.

Chanyeol looked around and was amazed. People and little shops were everywhere his eyes could see. Food stalls where vendors sold spicy ddeokbokki, shops full of people shopping, ramen stands where the customers sat outside and slurped at their noodles happily, kids running around with fish shaped kites... It was like a little town that was trapped back in time. This small town was only one stop away from his home and Chanyeol had never even seen it before. He was utterly amazed.

He looked around and located Baekhyun who had wandered off to a ring-tossing stand where the prizes were red fire fish.

"Baekhyun...what is all this? This isn't your stop?"

"I know," Baekhyun turned his attention away from the fish. He looked over his shoulder and smiled that same rectangle smile from earlier. And just like last time Chanyeol found the smile beautiful.

"Then why did we get off here?"

"Isn't it obvious," Baekhyun glanced at a couple beside him. The guy was standing behind the girl and was helping her throw a ring around a bottle. The girl screamed excitedly when the ring landed around the bottleneck. She spun around and happily kissed her boyfriend. "This is a date, it's what couples do." Baekhyun said as he looked away from the couple and back at Chanyeol.

Chanyeol's heart quickened. What was Baekhyun talking about? He didn't think Baekhyun was actually taking this seriously.

"A date?"

"Because, it's already Tuesday, one week will go by in a flash." Baekhyun turned back to the fish, "I have to use my time wisely.”

Chanyeol's heart slowed back to its dull pace. He was so dumb, he had stupidly and unknowingly gotten his hopes up. Of course it was like that. Even if he did fall for this person it would never end the way he wanted it to because it never did. Baekhyun didn't actually like him so why would he ever think that he'd take this seriously.

"Hyung, it doesn't work like that."

"Huh? Now way! Isn't a date a standard part of your itinerary?" Baekhyun pouted.

"Standard?" Chanyeol murmured the word hollowly. "There is no standard." There is only this one-week where I try to fall in love but never do.

"Good!" Baekhyun exclaimed, he clapped his hands together then rubbed them over his stomach. "I'm starving lets go get some ramen!" Baekhyun jumped up excitedly, he was completely oblivious to Chanyeol's inner conflict. "I heard they have this ramen stand here where they put actual eel cakes in it, I've never had eel before cause my mom tried it once at a wedding and she told me it was suuuuper fatty, she described it as chewing on fatty bacon but-"

"Hey, are you playing with me?"

"Hm?" Baekhyun stopped abruptly at Chanyeol's sudden tense tone. He faced Chanyeol.

"Hey what's wrong with you?" Baekhyun stared at Chanyeol. He looked so lost. So confused. Angry and hurt and so much like a confused child it was heart breaking.

"I-" Chanyeol had to tell Baekhyun that this wasn't just some silly game, this would only end with-

"Hey stop acting weird, you're ruining our date," Baekhyun laughed. He grabbed Chanyeol's hand and pulled him in the direction of a ramen stand. Baekhyun led the way through numerous stalls and Chanyeol reluctantly let him self be pulled along.

"You don't like ramen?" Baekhyun glanced at Chanyeol's untouched bowl of ramen. They had ordered it twenty minutes ago and it had arrived at their booth exactly ten long minutes ago. The ramen hadn't been touched once since the waiter had set it down on the table.

"Huh?" Chanyeol asked distractedly. His normally wide eyes were half closed as he stared at the rising steam from the ramen bowl waft up into the semi chilly air. Baekhyun watched Chanyeol's eyes follow the steam trail for a few seconds. He was distracted by how stupidly cute Chanyeol looked just watching steam rise.

"You've been really quiet today...I hate that, okay?" Baekhyun felt slightly embarrassed saying this but he had had enough of the awkward atmosphere. It had been following them around ever since they stepped off the train. Maybe this date hadn't been such a good idea.

"What?" Chanyeol asked. He tore his eyes away from the steam and looked across the table at Baekhyun.

"That you're actually unhappy about something, but you just keep quiet and go along with what I want." Baekhyun frowned, "I hate that."

"I'm not unhappy?" Chanyeol said abruptly. His eyes widened slightly at the accusation.

"Then what?" Baekhyun prodded at his ramen noodles nervously. "Why have you been so..." Baekhyun sighed. "How about we call it a day, since you don't feel like being out." Baekhyun smiled to show that he wasn't mad. It was a forced smile and they could both tell.

"So you don't like it when people just go along with you?" Chanyeol clarified. He thought back to all the dates he had been on. He could recall being extremely bored during a majority of them but the girls had never cared. But he wasn't bored with Baekhyun. He was actually having fun...he just was wary of feeling the way he had felt earlier again. He didn't want to be hopeful since he knew things were just going to end up like they always did.

"Exactly! I hate it! If we both aren't enjoying ourselves then what's the point?" Baekhyun laughed awkwardly. "We can just go home if you want?"

"No, let's stay." Chanyeol smiled. It was just like Baekhyun had said, he should get the most out of these seven short days that they did have, even if that meant it would end the way it always did. Chanyeol picked up his chopsticks and slurped up a mouthful of his noodles. "It's delicious. Sorry I didn't try them earlier."

Baekhyun simply laughed in reply. Whatever had been bothering Chanyeol had seemed to go away. That child-like confusion in his eyes had dimmed.

After they finished their bowls of ramen Baekhyun had expected Chanyeol to want to go home but instead Chanyeol pulled him along to every store they could find in the little town. During their "date" Baekhyun realized something strange. He had always thought Chanyeol was a stoic playboy but as they traveled from store to store Baekhyun came to the conclusion that Chanyeol was sort of a dork. He was childish, and easily distracted and just as easily pleased, and he was also somewhat innocent in a way that he wouldn't have believed since he had dated almost every girl in school. And even stranger was that as their date went on Baekhyun found it harder and harder to look away from Chanyeol's smiling face. It was addictive.

Their date through the town didn't end until the stars came out.

Wednesday A.M.

Baekhyun woke up Wednesday morning feeling absolutely exhausted. To make matters worse when he got to the train station it was completely crowded. He was so tired that it didn't register in his mind until the fourth ring that his phone was ringing. He fished it out of his jacket pocket and answered without even checking who it was. He knew only one person who'd call him this early in the day and his name was-

"Chanyeol, what do you want?"

"You sound really sleepy, where are you right now?"

"Umm," Baekhyun cracked open his bleary eyes, "the station exit, why?"

"Which exit did you use?"

"Eh, why?" Baekhyun yawned. He wiped the tear from the corner of his eye with his jacket sleeve.

"Just tell me." Chanyeol chuckled. The deep baritone of it jolted through Baekhyun's sleepy mind. Just hearing it managed to make him smile.

"Fine, it's exit 26."

"Okay, go south, take the short cut through the ticketing hallway."

"You're being weird today, Chanyeol. I know how to exit the station." Baekhyun said tiredly.

"Yes, I know you do, Hyung." Chanyeol laughed again, "Keep walking until you get to the end, I'll see you very soon."

Baekhyun frowned when the line went dead.

"It's too early for these kinds of games, Chanyeol!" Baekhyun huffed angrily. He was still half asleep. Even though his eyes were half closed his feet kept trudging along. Stupid Chanyeol and his stupid games. He'd punch that jerk right in his perfect face for doing this so early in the damn day.

Baekhyun halted suddenly. He opened his eyes and narrowed them at the tall figure standing at the entrance by the store a few feet away. Was that...Chanyeol? He squinted harder, yes that was without a doubt Chanyeol. His tall figure was unmistakable. Only he could make their school uniform look like freaking Armani suit. As Baekhyun neared closer he realized that Chanyeol was surrounded by his many fans. Of course he knew Chanyeol had them but he hadn't seen them yet so it was shocking to see them now. There were girls from an array of different schools standing around Chanyeol. With his black bangs falling attractively in his eyes and his tall body dressed in their all black school uniform he looked like a bad boy. Well, he sort of was one when Baekhyun thought about it. He always skipped club practices...he had a new girlfriend every week...Chanyeol was also a bit arrogant, and sort of lazy...well that was the impression Baekhyun had so far. He kind of liked it though; Chanyeol wasn't as perfect as his appearance was.

"Ah, Baekhyun Hyung! You're finally here you sounded so tired on the phone I was scared you'd fall asleep on your way here!" Chanyeol teased playfully.

He's also annoying! Baekhyun mentally added to the list. "Well at least I showed up!" Baekhyun shot back.

The girls around Chanyeol giggled.

"So this is who you were waiting for Chanyeol oppa?" A short girl with wavy brown hair and a burgundy school uniform asked.

"And all this time we thought you were waiting for someone special!" Another girl with two long blonde pigtails and a blue uniform said happily.

Baekhyun observed the group of girls. There were so many he couldn't even count them-well maybe he could but he was too tired to do so. There were so many girls after Chanyeol he couldn't help but wonder what would happen next week when Chanyeol was a "free" man again.

"Yeah we thought you were waiting for your girlfriend!" Another girl exclaimed.

"Come to think of it..." The girl with the pigtails turned around to face Chanyeol, "who is your girlfriend this week Chanyeol oppa?"

"Ah, well..." Chanyeol looked all around, it was clear he wasn't sure what to answer. He looked so nervous, like a little kid trying to think of a lie.

Baekhyun laughed at how nervous Chanyeol had gotten. He stepped around the girls and grabbed Chanyeol's arms in his. "That would be me, I'm dating him right now." Baekhyun smiled a big cheesy smile.

The girls broke out into a chorus of twinkling laughter.

"You're so funny!"

"Chanyeol oppa and you!" The girls all laughed.

"But I have to admit...you both kind of suit each other."

"Yeah, maybe it's the height difference."

"But still that was a funny joke!" The girls all began laughing again.

"But I wasn't joking...we are dating." Baekhyun pouted exaggeratedly. "Tell them, Chanyeol" Baekhyun playfully nudged Chanyeol's arms. He was having fun with this. Chanyeol looked uncharacteristically nervous and he loved every second of it.

"That's funny but even if by some miracle you were telling the truth, Chanyeol oppa never tells on who he's dating, he always keep them a secret from us! So you can stop acting, we know you're just joking!"

The girls all agreed. Baekhyun said nothing in reply because in a way they were right. This whole "relationship" with Chanyeol was sort of a joke. That's how it had begun.

A good morning text...

A goodnight text...

Going home together...

Eating together...

Shopping together....

And now walking him to school.

If they were a normal couple...what else would they do? Normal couples...hold hands? They hug...they kiss? The questions swam around Baekhyun's mind all morning long. He sat back in his desk. It was only homeroom but his mind was miles and miles away from his classroom. His mind was on overdrive and it was all thanks to Chanyeol. He didn't get it, just how far did Chanyeol go when he "dates" people? Did he kiss them? Baekhyun sighed, if only there was a person who knew first hand what it was like to date Chanyeol. If only-wait a minute! A green light went off in Baekhyun's mind. He did know someone who had first hand experience in dating Chanyeol. Taeyeon!

It was just his luck too because homeroom was the only class he had with her. He glanced at her desk way up at the front of the classroom. She was painting her nails, her short legs were draped over her desk and her long black hair was tied up into a bun at the top of her head. She looked cute and as intimidating as always. He gathered up his nerve and made his way over to her. He stopped in front of her desk.

"Hey Tae, you've done it with Chanyeol right?" Before he even realized what had happened Baekhyun was on his knees clutching his cheek. "D-did you just slap me?"

"Don't ask a girl such vulgar things!" Taeyeon hissed.

"I meant you've slept with-"

"Rethink what you're about to say." Taeyeon growled.

"Umm," Baekhyun gulped. How else was he supposed to word it? He had already sugar coated it enough, he could've said something worse like "ed!"

"This is why girls feel let down by you, don't you feel like you're a waste of a pretty face?" Taeyeon snapped as she went back to painting her nails. She sighed, "So why do you want to know about that?"

"Well its just umm," Baekhyun rubbed the back of his neck nervously as he stood up, he couldn't tell her the truth. "Its just lately I've been getting along with him...yeah so I was wondering..."

Taeyeon rolled her eyes. She set her nail polish down. "Whether it's just putting his arm around you or holding your hand Chanyeol won't touch you unless it's absolutely necessary."

"R-really?" Baekhyun stuttered. He didn't know why he was so stunned by the information, maybe because he had always thought Chanyeol was a playboy but he was wrong. No wonder why Chanyeol still had that innocent vibe to him.

"Yup, I've even heard of girls trying to make it a reality by forcing themselves on him. He's notorious for never doing anything to the girls, though."

"That's a pity." Baekhyun blurted out.

He flinched, ready for Taeyeon’s hit but it never came. He looked at her and instantly recognized the foreign expression she made only when one person was around. She was blushing which meant-

"Chanyeol, why is he here?" Taeyeon pointed to the door where outside they could see Chanyeol waiting. "That's the third time this week!"

"Umm, I told you we've been getting along lately." Baekhyun laughed nervously.

"Even if you are friends why would he come here everyday for lunch just for you?" Taeyeon sneered suspiciously. "Don't think I haven't noticed you guys go home together too! It's strange!"

"You're right," Baekhyun laughed, he looked out the door and met Chanyeol's gaze. His wide eyes were somehow so welcoming. "He's a strange one, for sure."

Wednesday Lunchtime

"Are you for real? You plan on dominating all my free time today? Is that it?" Baekhyun the last remaining droplets of juice out of his juice pouch and threw it into the nearby trash bin. They were seated on the roof of their school. It was a popular spot for couples to eat lunch together, which was why he was sure Chanyeol wanted them to eat here.

"Does it bother you?"

"Didn't I say I hate just going along with other people?" Baekhyun got up off the floor and threw the rest of his trash away. "If I didn't like it I would say so."

"Really? That's good I'd want you to tell me." Chanyeol smiled warmly. He looked so little when he smiled like this. He looked just like a little boy who had been told he had just done a good job. Baekhyun wanted to capture this smile in his memory because it was so stupidly, adorably, innocently cute. He wondered if Chanyeol smiled like this to all the people he dated.

Baekhyun laughed, "I think you're much more clever than you look."

"Eh, me?" C
