ONE:   “There’s my little Vicky!”   “Come on, come here to mommy.”   “Vicky don’t you miss mommy?”   I stood there looking at the blurred woman holding my two braided ponytail, hesitating to cross to her. I turn back to my mommy behind me as her vision became a fuzzy. Then suddenly everything behind me starts to collapse into darkness like the domino-effect. I started to run fearing I will too fall into that sinkhole. The lady across from me ran towards me as well, crossing the street without the green pedestrian light.   BEEEEEEEEEEEEP BBEEEEPPPPPPPP   Light headlights. Truck heading towards her.   ‘Mommy’ eyes widen.   “VICTORiA”           ‘FIGHTING EVIL BY MOONLIGHT, WINNING LOVE BY DAYLIGHT. NEVER RUNNI—‘   I slam my sailor moon alarm off as I sat up. 6:39AM. Sweat beaming down my face as I ran my hands through my wet hair putting it into a ponytail. That same dream again, ever since that day 10 years ago I was 7. From the age 7 and beyond I remember clearly, 7 and before I don’t remember a thing. Apparently I was struck by a car, lucky to survive according to my aunty. All that followed me throughout the years is that dream, nightmare or rather…   I got into my light blue ripped skinny jeans, black plain t-shirt and sneakers. On the way out the door I grabbed my backpack and jersey jacket and locked the door behind me. The suns still isn’t up fully yet so the air is quite chilly.   “Morning Uncle Gyo,” I politely said.   He’s the pool person ‘dash’ handyman of this place. “Victoria! Nice and early” He greeted.   “You must have gotten up before the sun again,” I said to him.   He nodded and said, “Hurry up go inside the big house. Mrs Kang prepared breakfast already.”   I bid goodbye and head into the side door that led me to the kitchen. Tiffany sat the munching on her piece of jam toast with one hand while waving at with the other. Tiffany, she’s my cousin and practically grew up together.   “You’re up early for once!” I said, sitting down on one of the kitchen stool.   “Yeah, I’m leaving for school early. Mom’s been on my back way too much lately so I want to leave before she heads down for breakfast.” Tiff said then finishes her last bite of that toast. “Mom has been wanting me to go on a date with Mr. Choi’s son, you know, the CEO of MiSi Shopping Complex and I’m just not interested.”   I roll my eyes at her as I thank Mrs. Kang for preparing toast for me. She gulp down her juice and continue. “You know who I’m interested in Vic. That guy from high society camp!”   Oh, how can I forget! She came back from Hawaii after three months of ‘rich people’ summer camp and talked about him non-stop. It was repetitive and by the time school started I knew the story back to front. She told me she’s deeming to meet him again. NO MATTER WHAT!   Now don’t think worst of my cousin. She’s not one of those rich stuck up brat you see in movies, she’s quite nice actually.   “Oh! Look at the TIME! It 7:15” Tiff said aloud. “I better get going before my beautifully annoying mother make her way to the kitchen.”   Before dashing out of the kitchen she turned around and asked if I needed a lift to school which I simply decline. Ten minutes later her beautifully ‘prefect’ mother came in the kitchen.   “Where’s my breakfast Mrs. Kang?” She ask sitting down at the breakfast table looking at her perfectly French manicure. She looks up and glares at me annoyingly. “Oh Victoria, I didn’t expect to see you here.”   Tiffany’s mother isn’t exactly my biological aunt. After my real aunt’s death, her husband - my uncle remarried. They were having an affair years before my aunty got sick, she was wed into the Hwang
