✮ The Love That Never Was ✮

Park Chanyeol [Exo] || Bae Suzy [MissA]

romance. angst

Description: At the brink of her death, will she realise what it takes to let go?

Love; it’s such a selfish, yet selfless feeling. It can make you feel contented, dejected, excited, hurt, nervous, and worried; all at the same time.

Suzy had never experienced this rush of mixed feelings before; not until the brink of her death.

She was left with a month, the doctors had informed her regretfully. There was nothing they could do, and Suzy could only stare out of the window in silence.

In that dreadful month, Chanyeol visted her regularly. She wished Chanyeol would remember her, even after she passed away. She wished she would remain in Chanyeol’s heart. That way, it would be like she was never gone.

But as she watched a silent tear roll painfully down his cheeks, Suzy knew then that if she were to remain in his heart, the dull ache in Chanyeol’s chest would never subside.

Suzy understood Chanyeol; She knew that Chanyeol was afraid to love again, after what happened with his ex-girlfriend. And she also knew that he liked one of her friends- Eunji. She could feel her heart shatter even now as she thought about when she found out the one Chanyeol loved wasn’t her.

She thought about how blissful it would be if she was the one Chanyeol loved instead. What she didn’t know, was that she already ruined it before it even began. Overthinking. Fantasising. Expecting. Worrying. Doubting. Just letting it naturally evolve. Loving him wasn’t a mistake; thinking that he loved her was.

But Suzy knew that it was love then, when even though it hurt, deep down inside, she was glad. She was happy for him, because she knew that her friend liked him back; and that she would make Chanyeol happy.

And deep down the crest of her heart, Suzy was thankful. Thankful that Chanyeol didn’t return her feelings. Because if he did, she didn’t know what she would do if she were to die in regrets. If Chanyeol couldn’t be happy because of her. Because they weren’t meant to be.

A bitter smile formed on her lips as tears trickled down her cheeks.

Chapter 7: I will admit that I cried when Bomi disappeared. She and Chorong had what I felt was a great relationship, and I admit that I was scared Chorong would go back to her old circle of life but then WOAH, she grabbed the kitchen knife. Honestly I have never been fond of suicide in stories, but this fit so well and honestly, completed things so well. I hope Bomi and Chorong can see one another again in heaven ;_;

Chapter 7: I loved how Bomi helped Chorong through everything, and their friendship was very well written and seemed very real. I was sad right along with her with the bullying at school and the trouble at home added in, but the parts where Bomi was trying to get her attention were amusing, as well as heart-warming. All in all, it was a wonderful story♡.

Chapter 7: OMG! I WAS NOT EXPECTING THAT ENDING *SOBS*
Ugh *wipes tears* okay first off I was overjoyed to see Apink even if the lot of them were wretched little snots! Bomi and Chorong's story warmed my heart and I really had a lot of hope for the future, that things would be better for Chorong, but good grief you went there. *cries*
This story also really affected me because I can so relate to the feelings throughout. To anyone going through this: stay strong ♡♡♡

Chapter 3: This story was great, and the way you described his transformation, both physically AND emotionally was wonderful. The friendship between Jaehyung and Jimin was cute and made me warm inside. I love how he saved her, and she saved him, in return, helping others to see that he was a good dragon. I loved it! Great job and thank you for sharing this wonderful and unique story with me♡.

Chapter 3: Okay so I sort of internally groaned when Jimin ran away because I was like.... "this is going to be one of those stories where the friend is afraid of the monster" but NOPE I WAS WRONG. Jaeyoung got his happy ending after all! Even if it wasn't totally happy it was getting there :) He was accepted in the end, even if not by everyone, and he was able to do what he was best at -destroying stuff- in a more positive way. Somehow. XD

Chapter 3: AWWWWWWWW OMG that made me feel all kinds of good inside. ♡
I really enjoy how you start off the story without telling us who he is, it sets the stage for how lonely and sad he is and how much he longs to fit in. It makes the reader feel more for him, I think, and so that was really great.
Jimin's first conversation with him was just adorable, like I wanted to hug her because it was so sweet. It was in that moment that I thought that maybe it would have been a better fit had you put this toward the friendship prompt, but then I continued to read and I saw why you chose the discovery prompt. The moment after the fight made me sad because I wondered if she would let it go as that: fear for the monster instead of remembering his goodnes. So the ending left me with a big warm feeling and a smile on my face!! And bonus: I liked how there was the king's involvement and how he didn't stay at the bakery, but was put to work in a functional place. Cleverly done!

Chapter 4: T_T This actually happens a lot in reality... Gambling is like a curse. Once you've been cursed, it's impossible to budge away from it entirely. From the start, I kinda already knew that Daehyun's father would never change for the better. I mean, how would he?! The first thing he says when he sees his son is, "Give me money. Bye." From that dialogue alone, I can already tell he showed zero remorse of his action. I really pity Daehyun and his mom for always hoping that the father/husband they knew would come back... when really, he was gone and lost in the gambling den. Memories could only remain as memories. I'm happy that Daehyun manages to realise that fact before he allows his mom and him to get hurt again. Once is enough. Twice is really too much ; n ;

Chapter 3: Such a heartwarming story~ I'm glad that Jae eventually comes to terms with his existence and the king actually suggests a way that works out for both Jae and the village. The real evil is not what's already there; the real evil is how we perceive what's already there. Even the purest of actions can be seen as evil in the eyes of pessimistic ones. But the most evil thing can also be seen as pure in those who wish to view it as such. Thank you for this story; it's really an enlightening read *^*
