Many thanks to MaryHo for suggesting me to try the fantasy/vampire AU! This is my first time writing such an AU, but I enjoyed it so much! I hope I did well on making this AU fluffy. It's quite hard. I usually read it as an angst-type, but I tried. Please enjoy and leave feedbacks! Sorry if it's too long ;__;

Seokjin held his breath. His face was sweating. He pulled his bandanna down and revealed his face. He could almost feel the creature crawling on his skin despite being a few metres away. The blonde tightened his grip on the loaded gun and pushed back the hair that was sticking on his forehead. Carefully, he peeked out of his hiding spot. He had been keeping an eye on the blood-thirsty creature for so long. Finally, his kill is now right in front of his eyes. He just needed to aim and pull the trigger. He has got only one chance at this. Seokjin saw the beast. It's red eyes glimmered in the darkness, darting left and right, furiously looking around. It was heading right at him. Seokjin knew it could easily smell him, and his accelerating heartbeat wasn't helping either. Seokjin was calculating the consequences in his mind. One wrong step and he would die in the hands of the legendary Alexandrite vampire.

However, Seokjin didn't come to die. He had been well prepared. The blonde was no novice in this field. He had placed numerous devices in this room before luring the vampire inside. Beepers of multiple frequencies, speakers to duplicate the sound and beat of a human heartbeat, you name any modern age vampire-hunting technology and it's there. Seokjin is a certified A grade vampire-hunter who goes by the title Jin the Nightmare, never settling for rewards less than a few hundred thousand dollars. He takes missions with a 100% success guarantee, and he had always fulfilled his words with his killer smile every time.

This is by far the biggest amount of cash Seokjin had ever been offered. He wanted to decline at first, knowing the history and the danger or this type of vampire. He couldn't put his life at stake for money. All his other tasks are always an easy kill so Seokjin didn't have to think twice before accepting. But this one, Seokjin was even contemplating it right now, with the monster's uneven breathing ringing loudly in the room. Seokjin was always confident that he had the upper hand every time he lured a vampire into his traps, but certainly not this time. Most of his prey would have usually have been weakened down by the high-frequency beepers by now, but this one was still steadily walking on two feet. Seokjin had never experienced fear as much as this before, and he didn't like it one bit.

Seokjin braced himself to peek out of his hiding hole again. He stopped leaning forward when he heard a soft chuckle from right behind him. It was near. It was so near that Seokjin had felt the creature's warm breath on the back of his neck. Seokjin didn't think twice and shot right at where the sound came from. His shot missed for the first time in his whole 10 years of hunting.

Loud laughter rang throughout the room and Seokjin couldn't pinpoint where it came from. Fat droplets of sweat formed on his forehead. His hands trembled as he reached inside of his satchel for another silver-lined platinum bullet. This was Seokjin's own invention which he had created upon discovering that some species had developed a resistance towards pure silver bullets. He fished out a bullet from the pouch and tried to place it in the cartridge. Seokjin's hand was trembling. He wasn't good at refilling the bullet at a fast pace and he was having a hard time. He never needed a refill before, but now his life depended on it and he wasn't doing any good at all.

Seokjin slipped the bullet into the cartridge and pushed it up. Much to Seokjin's dismay, it won't budge. "Oh god please," he let out a soft whimper as he tried again, this time harder. He stopped pushing and sighed. His heart almost stopped beating as he felt the cold bullet roll off his fingers. He gasped as the bullet fell on the floor with a loud clink. Cursing under his breath, he bent down and ran his fingers over the concrete floor in the attempt to look for the cylindrical bullet.

"Dropped something?"

Seokjin froze. He didn't dare to look up. The luxurious smell of musk and strawberries wafted in the air and Seokjin gulped. It's here. The smell was slowly drawing Seokjin, wanting him to succumb to the vampire. But that would mean dying, and Seokjin wasn't prepared for that. In one swift move, he unsheathed the ivory dagger from his belt and swung it at whatever it was in front of him. A loud growl was heard and Seokjin took off, running away for dear life.

The hunter walked into the town with his head bowed down. His bandanna was neatly covering his face.

"Seokjin is back!"
"Finally we are saved!"
"We don't need to worry about the monster anymore!"

The people cheered on as the hunter walked down the path. He couldn't bear to tell the truth and disappoint them, so he kept quiet. He would need to try again another time. For now, it would be better for them to believe that it was gone. Seokjin gave them a soft smile and went back to his motel.

Seokjin sat on the bed with slumped shoulders. He pulled this bandanna way from his face and ran his fingers through his blonde locks in distress. The adrenaline in his veins from the incident before hasn't ebbed yet. Seokjin placed his hand on his chest and frowned at the rate of his heartbeat. He decided to forget it for the day.

Seokjin felt better after the warm shower. He felt refreshed, but the guilt and the defeat were still gnawing at his heart. He went to the desk and opened his laptop to do some more research on the vampire. Seokjin wanted to know what it looked like. The townspeople could only report the casualties. No one had survived to be an eyewitness.

"It must be somewhere in here." Seokjin mumbled as he scrolled through the page. All over it was the same thing. Inducing smell, red eyes, typical vampire stuff. Seokjin frowned when he saw an article on the vampire saying that "the moment one laid eyes on the monster would be one's final moment." He also came across some artist impressions of the Alexandrite vampire, some of them having jet black skin, some with black eyes and horns, even some with glimmering green eyes but Seokjin had a hard time believing any of those.

"Awww come on! Do you really look like this?" Seokjin said exasperatedly as he pointed to a picture of a goblin-like creature with skin resembling the greenish-red colour of the gemstone from which its name was derived. Seokjin slumped on his seat.

A familiar smell penetrated Seokjin's nostrils and cold sweat started forming on his forehead. Seokjin gulped, not daring to look behind.

"That's the ugliest thing I have ever seen." A voice spoke behind him. Seokjin almost jumped out of his skin. The voice was deep, alluring even, but Seokjin only found it to be horrifying. His heartbeat quickened as he felt warm breath brushing on his nape, followed by a low chuckle that sent tingles to Seokjin's spine.

He tried to brave himself up. Still with his back facing the vampire, he laughed a little, although it came out more as a strangled sound. "Well, you certainly don't look like that, do you?" Seokjin said in attempt to calm his heartbeat. Well maybe, just maybe, he could initiate a friendly conversation with the vampire? Who knows, Alexandrite vampires are actually really lonely and just wanted someone to talk to? Seokjin almost cried at his pathetic thoughts. The vampire chuckled. Seokjin felt a cold hand caressing his neck, followed by a throaty laugh.

"Why don't you turn around and find out?" The vampire whispered in Seokjin's ear. The hunter whimpered at the sensation of warm breath hitting his ears, plus he had a really hard time ignoring the vampire's scent. Seokjin blushed as the vampire laughed some more. Instead of turning around, Seokjin kept his eyes shut. "I don't want to see you." Seokjin said firmly. The vampire chuckled again. "Why? I guarantee you, it will be a fine view." He said cockily. Seokjin scoffed.

"Come on, hunter. I can't eat you if you're not looking at me." the vampire said. Seokjin chuckled. "Then I won't open my eyes forever. Thanks for the tip." Seokjin said. He heard the vampire groan. "Fine. Then I won't leave forever." The vampire said with a huff. Seokjin groaned. "Go find someone else to eat." he said. "Don't wanna." the vampire replied. Seokjin laughed. How childish. He felt all of his fears from before slowly dissipating. "Why?" he asked out of curiosity. "Because you smell beautiful."

Seokjin facepalmed. Is the vampire seriously flirting with him now? How can someone smell beautiful, like seriously. "Do you always flirt on your prey?" Seokjin asked, still keeping his eyes shut. "No, they usually look at me the first time I appear so it all ended quickly." He replied nonchalantly. Seokjin scrunched his nose in distaste. "You should've looked up when I picked your bullet back then. We could've avoided this useless conversation." The vampire stated. Seokjin shrugged. Lucky him.

"Then why don't you appear right in front of me? That way I couldn't help but look at you." Seokjin asked. "I have to appear from the back. That's how Alexandrites work. Somehow." The vampire huffed. Seokjin nodded. He slowly opened his eyes, but still didn't turn around. He glanced at the mirror in front of him and saw a figure sitting on the bed behind him. “So you can’t eat me if I don’t look at you, huh?” Seokjin smirked as he adjusted the mirror.

"Oh! Oh! You're cheating! You're looking at me through the mirror!" The vampire frowned and tried to move away from Seokjin's line of vision. However, the hunter had already seen the vampire's face and needless to say, he was amazed. The vampire could say the same to himself, actually. He caught a glimpse of Seokjin's face in the mirror and his heartbeat doubled. He never took the effort to see how his preys looked like. It was his first time seeing Seokjin's face, and to say that he was awe-stricken was an uderstatement.

"Not only you smell beautiful, but you also look beautiful." The vampire mumbled. Seokjin saw the vampire looking down and playing with his fingers. He could almost laugh at how adorable the legendary vampire looked like at the moment. "Hey, you look quite good, actually. You should let more people see you." Seokjin said, still looking into the mirror. The vampire looked at him. "Of course I look good, I'm a vampire. The real mystery is you." he pointed to Seokjin through the mirror, making the latter chuckle.

"Hey vamp." Seokjin called. "Enough with the chitchat. Please leave. I want to sleep." Seokjin said with a yawn. The vampire pouted. "Hey hunter, don't call me 'vamp'. I have a name." He stated. Seokjin raised his eyebrow. "And what makes you think my name is 'hunter'?" He laughed. The vampire laughed as well. "Okay fine. I tell, you tell okay?" The vampire grinned. Seokjin nodded, although he was intrigued by the fact that he is making friends with such an adorable deadly legendary vampire.

"Okay! My name is Jeon Jungkook! Your turn." the vampire said. Seokjin repeated the name with a soft hum. "I'm Kim Seokjin." Seokjin smiled into the mirror. "You're the first human to ever know my name. Don't you feel lucky?" Jungkook said as he wiggled his eyebrows. Seokjin scoffed. "Snob." He said. "Now go away, I want to sleep." Seokjin said, feeling that his fear of the vampire had completely disappeared. Jungkook crossed his arms on his chest. "Not until I eat you." Jungkook stated. Seokjin shrugged. "Well then." he said and walked backwards towards the bed, keeping the mirror in front of him.

"You're so clever." Jungkook huffed. "Thank you. Please switch off the lights on your way out." Seokjin mumbled as he went to sleep, leaving Jungkook alone.

Seokjin woke up and stretched his limbs. He remembered his failure and encounter last night. He was determined to try again today, but when he thought of Jungkook’s bunny grin, he started to have second thoughts of killing the vampire. This thought, of course, surprised himself. He is a vampire hunter, of course he kills vampires. Seokjin huffed. He wondered where the vampire had gone to. He hoped that it didn't kill anyone last night, because then his lies would be exposed and he could say goodbye to his career.

"Good morning Seokjin." A deep voice greete
