Confession
Lost SunshineThe rain was still falling when the two boys made it back to the hotel. “We’re back!” Jimin called out, closing the door and propping the umbrella to the side. As they entered the lounge room, Tae simply waved, not bothering to look away from his favourite anime. Suga and Namjoon were talking at the dinner table, probably about the music and it seemed Jungkook had already gone to bed. Jin stepped out of the kitchen, two plates in his hands.
“It’s about time,” he mumbled, placing them on the table next to the others. “It is already eight.”
Hoseok let out a laugh. “Sorry, Seokjin. We should have called.” Jin nodded his reply, returning to the kitchen. At the table, the two boys ate, listening to Namjoon and Yoongi talk about the new song they were making. When they were finished, they were left in silence.
Yoongi stood, stretching and then yawning. “I’m heading to bed.” At that, Jimin kicked Hoseok under the table, earning a glare from the older boy. Suga blinked, having been the only one to notice. “Something up?”
“No,” J-Hope replied.
“Yes,” Jimin added, matching his hyung’s glare. At that, even Taehyung had muted the tv, eager to hear what was happening. “Tell them already.”
Hoseok looked around, noticing that they were all watching him. Suddenly glad that Jungkook had gone to bed, he lowered his eyes to the table. “I, uh, have a secret.”
“Don’t we all?” Yoongi muttered, somewhat losing interest.
“No, it’s that sort of secret,” J-Hope mumbled, “I, uh…” How should he say it?
“He’s been sick,” Jimin said, “For a while. Right, hyung?” Hoseok nodded, glad the younger had more courage.
“How sick,” Namjoon asked, watching his friend closely.
“I don’t know,” J-Hope mumbled, his words becoming more inaudible. “It just happened one day and it comes back every now and again.” At this point, Tae had joined them at the table.
Jin stepped forwards, placing a hand on the boy’s shoulder. “What happens?”
Hoseok grimaced. “I get dizzy. Sometimes I can’t even stand.”
“Then you’ll see a doctor,” Yoongi decided. “Maybe tomorrow?”
The others nodded their agreement. “For now, you should rest,” Namjoon murmured, offering a hand to the boy. Hoseok ignored it, standing and walking off to his room by himself.
