Hye Kyo wandered her eyes all over her dressing room. She heaved a deep sigh til her eyes landed on a small box inside her opened drawer. She took it, holding it against her palm, pressing the smooth fabric covering it. She opened it, closed it again, opened, closed, til she got tired of thinking and curled it inside her hands.

 

 

"Michyeosseo. What am I going to do?" She asked herself for the millionth time as she stared at her reflection in front of the mirror. It's the 52nd Baeksang Awards tonight and she'll be with Song Joong Ki, the man who gave this 'thing' to her, the man whom she loves so much, and the man who offered her marriage a week before this day.

 

 

He asked her after she went home from Beijing, and after they both confirmed that they'll be attending the said awards night. She couldn't answer him that day that's why she promised him that he will get her answer tonight.

 

 

But Hye Kyo's problem was, "How will I say it?" She isn't nervous about their plan on getting married. In fact, she is more than ready. She also thinks that she's in the right age to settle down with someone who is so sure of having her for the rest of his life. Song Joong Ki means everything to her. She couldn't afford for him to leave her, just like her exes did to her. She rubbed her temple with the back of her hand and decided to call some friends who already knew about it.

 

 

First up, was her bestfriend from the same company, Yoo Ah In.

 

 

"Yeoboseyo?" Ah In answered from the other line. Hye Kyo bit her lip.

 

 

"Hye Kyo ah? Is something the matter?" He asked now worried.

 

 

"Eopseoyo. I just wanna ask something," Hye Kyo uttered. She heard Ah In hummed urging her to continue.

 

 

"How will I say my yes to Joong Ki?" She asked. There was a very long silence between them, until Ah In decided to break it with fits of laughter and teases.

 

 

"Yah! Stop laughing!" Hye Kyo whined which made Ah In laugh more. She blew her bangs annoyingly and pouted like a little kid.

 

 

"A-arasseoyo. Mianhae. It's just that... you're too old to ask that question! You should already know how to!" Ah In responded in between chuckles.

 

 

"Aigoo, this man. You helped me, a lot. I'm gonna hang up now. Jjalga!" Hye Kyo said irritated by how her so called best friend just laughed at her without even giving her some proper advice! "Aish that fish," Hye Kyo thought.

 

 

The next person she tried to call was Seo Jeong Yeon, her sunbae, or also known as Nurse Ha Jae Ae from Descendants of the Sun. As the line stopped ringing, Jeong Yeon coughed before answering.

 

 

"Hye Kyo ah?" She asked. Hye Kyo knew she's sick because of the raspy voice she heard but she still want to ask her the question, hoping that this time, Jeong Yeon can give her a proper and meaninful advice. Not like Ah In. Aigoo. She cringes when she hears that name.

 

 

"Sunbae! Help me juseyo," she cried out. Jeong Yeon coughed again.

 

 

"Waeyo? Eodiyeo?! Did something bad happen to you? I'm going to fetch you!" She heard rustling sounds from the other line.

 

 

"Aniyo! Don't go anywhere. You should be resting. It's not something bad... I just want to ask you something," Jeong Yeon breathed out from the other line causing Hye Kyo to feel guilty for making a sick person worry.

 

 

"What is it, Hye Kyo ah?"

 

 

"Promise me that you won't laugh at me," she first said. Making sure that Jeong Yeon really wouldn't laugh at her.

 

 

"Mm mm. Yaksong," Jeong Yeon assured her.

 

 

"I've thought about Joong Ki's proposal a lot of times. And tonight's the night where I should give him my answer. But I couldn't figure out how to deliver my answer to him. Eottokhae, sunbaenim?" She asked as she had her eyes tightly shut, maybe waiting for her sunbae to laugh at her, but no laughing sound came out. Just a gasp... followed by continuous coughing.

 

 

"Sunbae? Gwaenchanhayo?" She asked worried.

 

 

"Chamkamaniyo!" Jeong Yeon shouted. Hye Kyo waited patiently for her to talk back. After a few minutes, she heard her clear before responding.

 

 

"How about announcing it tonight if you ever receive an award?" Hye Kyo wasn't really sure if she can do that. Their relationship isn't exclusive to the public yet. But here they are, trying to get into marriage.

 

 

"I think it's too early to announce our marriage so sudden like that. They don't even know we're dating!" She whined which made Jeong Yeon giggle.

 

 

"That's the problem, Hye Kyo ah. You're getting married but the people around you, except your family and friends, don't even know that you and Joong Ki sshi are dating! Everyone thinks that these are only rumors and the fans, well they believe that you two are really dating but still, you haven't announced it personally!" Jeong Yeon stated which made Hye Kyo in the state of so much confusion.

 

 

"Eonnie!! Eotokkhae??!" She dropped the formality and cried out lout. She can't face this problem alone. Jeong Yeon clicked her tongue as an idea popped inside her head.

 

 

"How about telling him after the awards night? It's the most safest thing to do. Can you do that, Hye Kyo ah?" She said gently. Hye Kyo nodded while frowning even though Jeong Yeon couldn't see it.

 

 

"I think you've agreed. I have to go, my dongsaeng. I'm already sleepy. Enjoy the night, will you? Don't think about it too much. Take care. Hye Kyo ah hwaiting!"

 

 

"Jeongmal kamsahamnida, eonnie. Rest well and I'm sorry for disturbing you," Hye Kyo said before ending the call. She grabbed her purse and put the box she's been holding throughout the call inside. Just then, the door clicked open, revealing her manager, Ms. Park.

 

 

"Are you ready, Hye Kyo?" She asked. Hye Kyo nodded, trying to hide the anxiousness off of her.

 

 

"I'll be heading towards the venue first. You'd be riding on the white van along with Joong Ki sshi. His manager will be coming with me also. Joong Ki is already inside. Kaja?" Just hearing the name of her boyfriend and soon to be fiance makes her shiver in excitement and nervousness. "He'll probably look handsome tonight. Like he always does," she said inside her mind. She held onto Ms. Park's arm, careful not to trip and step on her white gown. As soon as they reached the parking lot, the van's door was already open, and there she saw Song Joong Ki looking as handsome as ever, smiling at her before stepping down to help her.

 

 

"Good evening, my lady," he joked. Hye Kyo slapped her playfully on the chest and curtsied.

 

 

"Good evening to you too, handsome lad," she said which made both of them laugh. Ms. Park and Joong Ki's manager just shook their heads, trying to hide their smile as they see the two so happy being together.

 

 

"Let's get you inside," Joong Ki said. He held Kyo's hands and helped her get inside the van, careful not to step on her gown. As the both of them were cozy inside, Hye Kyo couldn't help but lean on Joong Ki's broad shoulder, inhaling his scent, which was her favorite too.

 

 

"Everything alright, yeobo?" He asked worried. Hye Kyo shook her head.

 

 

"I'm just nervous, and scared," she whispered. Joong Ki kissed the crown of her head and hugged her sideways.

 

 

"Don't be. I'll be with you throughout the night. I will never leave your side," he assured her before kissing her lightly on the lips. Hye Kyo smiled lovingly at him.

 

 

"You're the best, really," she said which made Joong Ki chuckle. He intertwined his hand with hers and rested it at the top of his knee.

 

 

After a few minutes of driving, Hye Kyo felt the van stop, well because she's the only one still awake. She sat properly while taking out her phone from her purse carefully. She then focused her phone's camera on Joong Ki's sleeping face. Unfortunately, Kyo forgot to remove the shutter sound and as soon as she clicked the button to capture Joong Ki's face, his eyes fluttered open.

 

 

"OMO!" Hye Kyo screamed and erupted into giggles. Joong Ki gasped after he realized what just happened.

 

 

"Did you just took a picture of me?" He asked with this monotone voice which made Kyo shiver and laugh nervously.

 

 

"Aniyo," she denied. Joong Ki smirk and scooted closer towards Hye Kyo who is now hiding her phone at her back.

 

 

"Jinjjayo?" Hye Kyo just nodded. Joong Ki then suddenly attacked her with tickles while trying to reach for her phone but to no avail. They didn't notice that the van's door was open. Not until they heard fans screaming and going wild because of the scene unfolding in front of them. Joong Ki retreated and composed himself which Hye Kyo also followed. They waved at the fans to hide their embarrassment then asked the driver to have someone close the door again. They still heard some cheers before they got into the main entrance of the red carpet.

 

 

"Yeobo, do you think they noticed?" Hye Kyo asked. Joong Ki smiled at her then kissed the tip of her nose.

 

 

"Just calm down, arasseo? We've got each other's back. Don't worry," he said, reassuring her that everything will be alright. Hye Kyo trusts everything Joong Ki says. Now, it's time to focus on the event. The van's door opened again, and Joong Ki stepped outside first. He then held Hye Kyo's hands to assist her not to fall during she stepped out the van. They were greeted by hundreds of fans screaming for their names.

 

 

"Daebak. I can't believe this..." Hye Kyo whispered. Joong Ki tightened his hold on her hands as they walked their way on the red carpet. They lasted for a few minutes since photographers and the press couldn't get enough of the "Song-Song Couple" which appeared holding each others hands in front of them. They stole the scene, and everybody loved them. For them, it wasn't just a normal awards night, it was like a fairytale wedding for Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo.

 

 

As they went inside the venue, Yoo Ah In was already there, seated on his assigned seat which was beside Hye Kyo. She will be sitting in the middle, Joong Ki on her left side and Kim Min Suk on Joong Ki's side. Only the three of them was present in behalf of the other casts. Since Ji Won is busy with her schedule, Jin Goo is in France, Jeong Yeon is sick and Seung Joon is nowhere to be found. Once Hye Kyo sat beside Ah In, she snorted as she remembered how her best friend laughed at her.

 

 

"Hye Kyo ah!" Ah In greeted her with a wide grin plastered on his face. Hye Kyo just rolled her eyes at him and decided to ignore him.

 

 

"Yah. Are you angry?" He asked. Hye Kyo raised her brow and looked at him with this scary aura which made Ah In shift on his side and gulped down like a kid who is about to be whipped by her evil stepmother.

 

 

"What do you think?" Hye Kyo asked. Ah In felt shivers run down his spine. One thing he couldn't stand is an angry Hye Kyo.

 

 

"Jeoseonghapnida. It won't happen again, Hye Kyo sshi," he said in defeat. Hye Kyo just smiled sweetly at him.

 

 

The show started and they were both shocked when their faces were shown on the big screen. The MC's joked about having dinner with them both, saying that they'll pay for it, and calling them the beautiful couple. Joong Ki laughed embarrassed but at the same time trying to conceal his blush by covering his face. Hye Kyo on the other hand was smiling really hard while saying "Nae" to the MC's and looked at Joong Ki who was already looking at her.

 

 

They won their first award which was Popularity Award. Gave their speech and went back to their respective seats. When the MC's announced the nominees for Best Actress, Hye Kyo was nervous but she knows that she may not be garnering that award. So when the MC announced the winner, Hye Kyo smiled genuinely and clapped her hands. Joong Ki grabbed her hands, good thing the following scene was not shown on the big screen: how Song Joong Ki kissed the back of her hand, saying that she's the best for him. Hye Kyo held his hand tightly, thanking him.

 

 

They got 3 more awards that night but the last award caught Joong Ki off guard. As the one giving the trophies held onto Hye Kyo's hand tightly, he felt blood rushing all over his head, but controlled his jealousy and anger. "Wah. This man has the guts to touch my girl like that," he thought. That's why he doean't look happy while receiving the award. Hye Kyo was unaware, that made Joong Ki mad even more.

 

 

Walking towards the back stage, Joong Ki didn't assist Hye Kyo anymore. He walked further than her, because he was about to burst in frustration and anger. When they were outside the venue, Joong Ki made sure that there were no press nor fans around. That's when he grabbed Hye Kyo's wrist and brought her into a dark and narrow path, a little bit further from the venue. Hye Kyo was shocked upon seeing Joong Ki act that way. He pinned her against the wall, but careful enough not to hurt her back because of the impact. He cupped her face and claimed her lips hungrily, full of longing, but not harsh, as Hye Kyo would describe. She closed her eyes, kissing him back with much force hoping that he'd feel her love and longing, too. Joong Ki grabbed her by the waist, as his hands traveled downwards. Hye Kyo gasped when she felt Joong Ki's hands. She pushed him and gladly he stopped.

 

 

"What's the problem?" Hye Kyo asked him. Her hands finding its way to his cheeks. Joong Ki couldn't help but cry in front of her.

 

 

"I was jealous. When that man from the stage held your hand. I want to tell him off saying that you're mine. I want to tell the whole world that you're mine. So that they wouldn't dare to steal you away from me. I'm scared. I'm not usually like this but when you came, I became even more territorial. What's mine is mine. You... you're mine. And I don't want anyone touching you. Nor talking to you. You're all mine," he whispered amidst sobs. Hye Kyo felt the urge to cry to but she didn't. Instead, she pulled Joong Ki closer to her and made him rest his head on the crook of her neck.

 

 

"Joong Ki ah, I know how you love me. I really do. And I'm thankful for that. Thank you for coming into my life. Thank you for making me believe that loving again isn't impossible especially to a girl like me who was heartbroken several times already. I am yours completely. I assure you that. If you ask how I can assure you, better bend your other knee and give me this again," Hye Kyo ordered as she gave Joong Ki the small box she was carrying. Joong Ki looked at her, and for Hye Kyo, that gaze meant everything. Joong Ki complied, bending his other knee, as he opened the box, and asked her once again,

 

 

"Song Hye Kyo, will you spend the rest of your life with me? Will you be my wife?" He asked tears still rolling down his cheeks. Hye Kyo cried and nodded.

 

 

"My answer is yes. I will marry you, my Joong Ki," He slipped the ring on her finger and carried her due to happiness. He kissed her repeatedly, again and again, til he was contented.

 

 

"Thank you. Thank you so much. This is the best award I've got. You are my greatest award. I'll keep you for a lifetime!"

 

 

They kissed again, happy knowing that they'll be beside each other forever.
