Can you do me a favor?

Sunggyu faced Woohyun, breaking his long silence, and quietly started talking. He voice didn’t seem any different from his usual softness, but his eyes, looking at Woohyun, were shaking.

How can I refuse…

Woohyun thought. Woohyun couldn’t refuse Sunggyu who is looking at him like that.

“What is it? Tell me, of course I would.

“Uh…Actually…”

Slowly, and slightly doubtfully, Sunggyu began talking.

“A month ago, I applied for a job… thinking that it is really last hope…. Even after the application, I came out here since 2 weeks ago. Our home… happens to be in a situation that cannot wait for me.. so I thought that I would rather die if I fail.”

“…..”

“That time is when I met you, Woohyun-ssi. And I thought that I want to live….. Ah, I story side-tracked a bit, right?”

What is he supposed to tell me..

Woohyun waited patiently for Sunggyu, who was unlikely having a hard time speaking.

“Anyway, the one I applied, the result is being announced tomorrow morning….”

“Ah…..”

“I don’t know if I pass, but if I fail, I might think that… and I might actually…”

“Sungy-“

“Woohyun-ssi.”

Sunggyu ‘s eyes that were facing the ground faced straightly at Woohyun.

Can you please stop me? No. Please do so.

He was shaking. He was shaking like a frightened child. Woohyun felt like he couldn’t breath. He couldn’t do anything else but nod at him.

Sunggyu’s seemed relived, and smiled. Woohyun couldn’t smile, even with him smiling like a blossoming flower in spring.

He was busy clearing his mind, thinking of what to say. Soon he opened his mouth. It was slightly rough and shaky.

“I will wait. I will wait for you here. I will surely stop you when you come here, Sunggyu-ssi.”

“Thank you…”

“… But if you pass, don’t come here, okay? This place is too sad to celebrate.”

Sunggyu’s eye widen at Woohyun saying not to be here when he pass, but soon closed slowly. Sunggyu was still smiling, and quietly nodded.

“Sunggyu-ssi! Hwaiting! It will all be good!”

Woohyun’s voice soon turned bright and cheerful. At him trying to brighten up the atmosphere, Sunggyu also smiled and laughed. At them thinking that this might be the last morning  together, they stayed together for a longer time.

“Sleep a bit more,”

“Hyung… what time is it…?”

“Time isn’t important. Just rest. Why did you need to be sick in this important period… Sleep!”

…I should wake up… I need to go out… Woohyun said, half asleep. His voice that soon came out, as the manager pushed him back to the blankets, was very sore and sick. He also had a high fever, as he tried to wake himself up.

Woohyun’s prediction that he might get sick wasn’t wrong, and situation became bad just in a day. His manager, who came hurriedly at him calling last night, treated him carefully. He quietly closed the door, as he thought Woohyun saying that he should go out was just a sleep-talking.

Soon the room was filled with sounds of Woohyun sleeping from tiredness and the effect of the medicine.
