She sprinted back to the house, struggling to open the door with shaking fingers. When she burst through the door, Leo was there. 

“There are men looking for you,” she rasped, showing the crumpled picture of him. His face darkened as he slowly took the paper from her grasp

“What do they want with you?” she asked.

Silence.

“Leo, you need to tell me. I’m… I’m scared,” she whispered.

“I’ll leave,” he said, “I apologize for the trouble I’ve caused.”

“No! That isn’t what I meant, Leo. I’m scared because I care about you.”

“Why do you care?” he asked.
