"You can't just lie here and mope all day" the voice of an ever so helpful Taehyung startles Jungkook from his thoughts 

"Yes I can" he declares nonchalantly, rolling over to face to brunette 

"Look none of us knows what even happened last week, Y'know cause none of you have told us" he glares pointedly at Jungkook, earning an eye roll "but this isn't going to get sorted out until you try talk to him" 

"It's not that easy, I've already tried to but he just ignores me" he huffs

"Wow, you must have messed up real bad if he's ignoring you" Taehyung mutters

"Not helping!" He glares, wanting nothing more than to slap the grin off  Taehyung's face "he told me he loves me" he adds, taking notice of the genuine shock on the elders face 

"Damn, he finally confessed?" 

"What do you mean "finally"?!, you knew and you didn't tell me?" he shrieks, looking ready to kill

"It wasn't my place to tell you, he had to do it himself" Taehyung shrugs

"It's not like it matters, he won't even let me explain" he calms down, sitting at the foot of his bed 

"At least you know how he felt" Taehyung blurts out without thinking 

"Still not helping!" Jungkook groans, rolling back over to face away from him 

"Sorry but you know I'm right. Look, Jimin is my best friend and if there's one thing I know about him is that he never gives up on something he wants and he's wanted nothing but you for a long time" 

"Wow, way to make to me feel like a trophy" Jungkook deadpans 

"He may seem like he doesn't care but he's just trying to get over your rejection" Taehyung continues, dismissing the younger boys sarcasm 

"I didn't reject him!"

"So you do love him?" Taehyung suddenly grins 

"I... I don't know, I don't know what I feel" he mumbles, the floor suddenly becoming the most interesting thing in the world to look at 

"Well you better figure it out soon, he's a patient person but he won't wait forever. Soon enough it'll be too late" Taehyung pats him on the head, leaving before Jungkook could comment 

'Im done waiting' Jimin's heartbroken voice plays over and over in his head 

"It's already too late" he whines, flopping backwards on his bed 

As Taehyung enters the living room he grunts in disgust at the sight of Namjoon and Jin cuddled up together, giggling on the couch 

"You guys are gross" he scrunches up his face in disgust taking a seat beside a sleeping J-hope 

"Are you kidding me?, just yesterday I walked in on you and J-hope practically fuc-" Namjoon trails off after receiving a wicked glare from his partner "fooling around" he laughs sheepishly 

"Nice save" Jin smiles sarcastically "Jungkook still upset?" He questions    Taehyung, ignoring Namjoon's pouting face 

"Yeah, poor kid feels hopeless" 

"I'd give anything to know what actually happened between them" Suga states looking troubled 

"Apparently Jimin confessed, I'm assuming Jungkook didn't have the reaction he was hoping for" Taehyung shakes his head

"Damn, Jimin actually confessed?" A now wide awake J-hope stares at him in astonishment to which he nods his head in silent agreement 

"Yeah but now Jungkook is confused about his own feelings" 

"I say he just needs a little shove in the right direction" Namjoon grins 

"Oh boy, I know that look. You have am idea don't you" Jin groans

"Yep" he continues to grin

*** 

"This is going to end horribly, I can just feel it" J-hope warns 

"Oh hush Hyung, it'll be fine" Namjoon 

"When this ends bad, which it will. Just remember I told you so" 

"Well when this ends in a beautiful and romantic relationship between our youngest members, just remember that I was the one who told you so" 

"Shh, here he comes" Jin stops their bickering as the door opens to reveal a sweaty Jimin 

"Hey Jimbles, c'mon we're about to watch a movie. Go take a shower and we'll get things set up" Suga shoos him away with a flick of his wrist

They wait 10 minutes until they hear the water turn off and all but leap to their feet, heading in the direction of the bathroom 

"Let's hope this goes as well as it did in my head" Namjoom whispers as the bathroom door opens and Jimin walks out, hair still damp and dressed in shorts and a tank top 

"Hey there Jimin" Taehyung smiles creepily and Jimin istantly knows there's something up 

"Uh hi guys, um... I'm just going to pass by here" he makes a move to pass by them only to be stopped by J-hope 

"We're really sorry about this Jimin" he smiles apologetically and Jimin has no time to question his Hyungs weird behaviour before he's being pushed through a door, landing -quite painfully if he does say so himself - on his back

"You'll thank us when this is over" he hears Jin call from the other side of the door 

He makes a move for the door only to find it being held shut from the outside 

"Guys let me out!" He yells

"No, you two have to sort this out!" Taehyung yells back 

"What?" He mutters confused and only when he hears the awkward shuffling of feet does he realise he has company

"Jimin?" A small voice whispers, a voice so familiar it makes his heart ache all over again

He turns slowly, making eye contact with a frozen Jungkook but before long his eyes drop to the floor 

"Why are you here?" Jungkook tilts his head, surprised by his sudden visit 

"It's not like I had a choice" Jimin snaps back with a glare, feeling a tinge of regret when he flinches and avoids his eyes 

"That's not getting along!"

"Shut up Yoongi!, what the hell do you even expect us to do?!" He grits his teeth, pulling the door handle so hard his knuckles turn white 

"We don't know, throw a punch, pull each other's hair... make out for all we care. But do something or you'll just have to spend the night in here" he can almost hear the smirk in Suga's voice 

"Min Yoongi, I said shut the hell up" he bangs on the door, startling the other five on the opposite end 

"Oh let me at him!" Suga growls, accompanied by the sound of struggling and eventually the sound of Suga being dragged away 

"Jimin just try, that's all we want you to do" Jin's speaks in a calm voice 

"Yeah c'mon it's just talking, we're not asking you to marry him" Taehyung laughs 

He sighs, shoulders drooping as he turns to face Jungkook, who's still staring intently at the wall in front of him 

An awkward silence hangs over them and for the first time since they met, Jimin can't think of a single thing to say to him 

Mouth opening a closing, he tries fruitlessly to think of something but he doesn't have to wait long before Jungkook beats him to it

"You've been avoiding me" he mumbles, still refusing to make eye contact 

"I know" is all Jimin could say, his mind a jumbled mess of thoughts "I... I didn't know what else to do, god Jungkook why are you so dense sometimes?" He throws his hands in the air in frustration  

"Why are you getting angry?!, you're the one that didn't even let me explain myself?" He counters, pointing and accusing finger at him

"What's there to explain?!, I told you I love you and you just stared at me" 

"You caught me off guard okay!, how the hell am I supposed to react after one of my best friends tells me they love me!" He barks, face tinged red with anger and Jimin clamps his mouth shut 

"Now please, listen to me?" He asks with hopeful eyes, face instantly brightening when Jimin nods for him to carry on

"I couldn't tell you if I liked you because truth is I myself didn't even know if I liked you, I couldn't piece together what was happening with me and all those times I rejected you was because I was afraid that if I was around you any longer I'd go insane. You make me feel emotions I've never felt before and I'd be lying if I said that I actually know what I'm doing right now because to be honest I'm just kind of doing what feels right and this entire week has been absolute torture for me and I don't ever want to have to see you every day and not be able to talk to you or go by my day knowing that you hate me" he finally speaks the words he'd been practicing in his head since the door was locked 

"You know you really did hurt me" Jimin squeezes his eyes shut, a single tear drop running down his cheek 

"I know I did and I'm so sorry, it was never my intention to hurt you" he wipes the tear drop away with his thumb 

"Jungkook?... Do you even love me?" Jimin suddenly asks 

"No" he answers simply "but I do really like you and if you're willing to give me a second chance I can learn to love you"

Jimin looks thoughtful for a second and as the grandfather clock chimes indicating midnight, he makes up his mind

*3 years later* 

Jungkook smirks, a teasing twinkle in his eye as the short male comes running up to him through the crowd of busy customers 

"If I seem to remember correctly, we agreed 12:30 was our meeting time" he grins taking in the others exhausted figure, slouched over and gasping for breath 

"Shut up, there are like 4 different cafés and I just ran here from like 6 blocks away which is more exercise than I've done in my entire life, plus I was only 5 minute late so cut me some slack will you" Yoongi smiles smugly, seeming pleased with his time keeping skills

"You're such a drama queen" he rolls his eyes playfully

"Aw but you love me anyway" Yoongi flutters his eyelashes, blowing kisses to him

Jungkook puts a hand to his chest, pretending to catch the kisses with his other before pretending to throw them away "you wish" he snorts and the too soon fall into a fit of laughter 

"Well aren't you too having a great time" A teasing voice echoes from behind them and in that moment Jungkook catches Jimin's eye, he forgets how to breathe properly

"Sorry we're late, Jin Hyung wouldn't let us leave without making sure the dishes were clean" Jimin gestures between himself and the small red head standing next to him 

"but it looks like this isn't going to be a double date after all. You guys sure you don't want to go have a little romantic date of your own, we can leave" he smiles, grabbing the girls hand, heading back the way they came 

"Oh no you don't" Yoongi protests "you've saw more of my girlfriend than I have today, plus I'm sure she'd rather have a date with a me" he adds while pulling the red head in for a kiss 

When Jimin finally makes eye contact with him, he can't help the eruption of butterflies in his stomach 

"Hello handsome" he smiles faintly and Jimin chuckles at his boldness 

"Hello to you" Jimin grins back, leaning in to reward his complement with a kiss

When the kiss gets a little heated they hear Yoongi give a low whistle 

"Hey guys, usually the starts after the date is done, not before it starts" he laughs as the two males blush hard and Jungkook has a feeling it's going to be a fun night 

As the day turns to night Jungkook finds himself staring out at the stars from the apartment balcony, hair softly tussling in the wind 

"How'd I know I'd find you here?" Jimin whispers in his ear, making him shiver 

"You're secretly a genius?" He smiles, looking back at him

"Oh there's no secret about it" Jimin laughs, wrapping his arms around his waist 

"It's the middle of December, why are you out without a jacket?" 

"Well now I don't need one, you can keep me warm" Jungkook smiles down at his phone just as it strikes midnight "hey look... this time exactly 3 years ago, we started dating"

"Hmm well let me be the first to say, happy anniversary" he gives him a light peck on lips, pressing their foreheads together 

"C'mon let's go inside" Jimin tugs on his sleeve as he lets out a yawn 

They step inside, bodies shivering at the sudden change in temperature and curl up on the couch in front of the crackling fire 

"Just think, one day we could be celebrating our anniversary but as a married couple" Jungkook looks up at him through half lidded eyes 

"Yeah, maybe sooner than you expect" Jimin whispers, his hair with one hand, the other one stuffed in his pocket as he fiddles with the small velvet box 

"Hm?" Jungkook squints up at him confused and Jimim finds it hard not to laugh at the cute expression on his face 

"I said snow is to be expected" he reaches for his hand, giving it a gentle squeeze 

"Good, maybe this year it'll be a white Christmas" the returns the gesture before his body relaxes and his breathing evens out, indicating that he'd fallen asleep

Jimin had no clue what was in store for him when he had given Jungkook a second chance but if he had known back then that he would be laying here with the love of his life, curled up on his chest. He'd have still ran away that night 3 years ago and in his mind he thanks his friends for being kind enough to trap him in a room alone with Jungkook
