Lie.

“Taemin, can I meet you up this evening at the park?”

“Oh, yes. Sure, Minho. See you later.”

The line then was cut off.

That evening, Taemin came to the park. Maybe he was too early but Minho, he came quite late. When Taemin saw Minho’s figure, he stood up from the bench he is sitting on and quickly hugged the figure.

“Minho! You’re here!” Taemin said, tilting his head up and smiling at Minho.

“… Yes, I am here, Taemin.” Minho answered, wrapping his arms around the lithe waist of Taemin.

“Sit down, Minho. And what is that you want to talk about?”

“Taemin… I’m sorry.”

“Sorry…? For what?”

“… Let’s not meet up again.”

That night, when Taemin was at home, he quietly went inside his bedroom and sits on his bed.

Like an unending spiral, he thinks.

What did I do wrong?

And he couldn’t find any answer ; for he don’t even know what he did wrong.

Tomorrow morning, he wake up, he is breathing but he is lifeless.

So very lifeless that everything he did is like a robot.

So when his friend said (asked) him ;

“Is this because of Minho?”

He would answer ;

“No! Of course not! I’ve been studying, and well, I can’t properly sleep because Minho took me out yesterday. I know I know, we’ve gone out so many times but this time is special.”

Lie.

That cycle continues whenever his friends saw him almost and practically being lifeless.

Without hesitation he would always answers that Minho did this, Minho did that.

And surpsingly, everyone believes him. Because they know, their Taemin would never lie.

Maybe he could lie a bit.

Maybe he could lie until he’s tired of it.

Maybe nobody would know how sad, how heavy the burden he felt.

Maybe, just maybe, he still could be happy in this happy circle he made.

Maybe, he could be happy again to pretend that Minho was still his and they were as happy as they can ever be.

Maybe it is okay to lie.
