Fear
Description
Irene brought a shred of light into the life of a girl named Wendy, who feared her own self.
This is a story about Tourette syndrome, and the tough lives of its patients. Please spare a few minutes to look it up if you have never heard of it. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tourette_syndrome)
It might not appear as a severe disease but there are indeed many patients suffering from all kinds of difficulties and discriminations on a daily basis.
[There is a film called “Front of the Class” (2008) and a book called “When I was the Greatest” by Jason Reynolds, related to real life experiences of Tourette patients. Check them out if you’re interested.]
I know my story won’t do much but I am deeply inspired after learning about this disorder. Maybe it’s also because I suffered a little from a mild learning disability when I was little. I couldn’t even properly express myself through my words back then. Writing was yet to be my outlet.
And I am really touched by a song recently, “Fear” by Song Mino ft. Taeyang from SMTM4. (with lyrics https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKoPon8cq8g)
So that’s how this one-shot is born.
p.s. Since I am now in half-hiatus, it might take a while for me to update this. Please be patient.
Foreword
Irene was an ordinary girl.
She grew up in an ordinary family, she went to ordinary schools, she had ordinary hobbies, she lived an ordinary life.
She had a face as beautiful as her heart.
She didn’t know she was already lucky for being ordinary.
Not until she met a girl named Wendy, who lived a rather unordinary life compared to hers.
Both of their lives were bound to change the moment they collided.
