had the freedom of anything. the clothes that she wore were all passed down by her sisters

and the dolls that she played were either broken or old. mr bae treated her like the family's

a few pieces of meat, sometimes none. mrs bae died when sooji was 12. mr bae's hatred

towards sooji grew because he kept accusing her that she was the reason for his wife's

death. sooji suffered a lot of beatings after her mother's death. the only way to end this bad

misery is to run. at the age of 16, sooji ran away from home to the circus just a few streets

down the road, she always admired the tightrope walkers. their clothes and amazing stunts

never failed to amuse her. the concert master saw this pretty young lady in front of the tent,

looking lost and hungry, thus, he offered her to join his circus crew. changing her first

name to something similar - suzy. there, she became one of the popular tightrope walker,

also the sweetheart in many guys' eyes. however, she never had a feeling for them. she

thinks that guys are all the same, just like her father. thus, she is always violent and cold

towards them.
