Second is not recommended in fanfics. It is the hardest pov to write since the author must effectively place the readers in the character's shoes. Here in aff, the character in a 'you' or the '_' story loses character or becomes an empty character. A shoe that fits all sizes. But it can be done correctly.

It's not that it's not recommended, 2nd person narrative style is just not used as often as 1st and 3rd ... personally, I think writing in 2nd person is acceptable, but what I really hate is the '_____' to constitute for the 'name' given to the female protagonist.
