You really can't say for sure, because it depends on the situation/scene within the story itself, although genres do play a rather big part. Too much dialogue without pauses or narrations in between will kill the pace, while too much narration will tend to bore people.

I think it just depends on the story. I prefer more narration when with a little bit of dialogues when it's comedy/romance. And when it's more dramatic kind of story, i prefer having more dialogues because i get bored then if there's too much narration going on. Just saying... hehehe
