@raidonce I completely agree with your assessment of the first season, I perceived it the same way. I think the plot was nice and different at the time it was released, the side coupling was so so but overall I liked it. it was very clear type was “the main” protagonist, he had many obstacles to overcome.

When it comes to the second season, I almost feel like they did try to present their relationship as a whole, but it sorts of backfired and it got somehow “lost” that’s why I think some people didn’t enjoy it, because “the conflict” was not clearly presented, unlike in the first season

I can see how Tharn got a little insecure and maybe jealous when his brother announced the wedding and this could be a good start, but Type’s problems at work, the mistreatment the overwork, was almost bigger to me and I actually like how you call it minuscule, which is ironic. Looking back I can see it this way, but in the moment as I saw it I thought Type will be the center and will have to deal with these issues, also in general Tharn was very chill at the beginning and his contribution to the relationship was much bigger than Type’s, I thought this way the story will go –it didn’t

Like I said the way you went with the story and explained your viewpoint, I can clearly see it now, but watching it as it was streaming I didn’t get that feeling, also I feel they made Tharn very “childish” As I mentioned before, I didn’t like how he sort of set up that secretary to flirt with him, and how when Type was gone couldn’t even prepare a single meal, what was that scene?! And the way he dealt with jealousy, it was cringe, or is it just me? Too much moping, also that time Type again calmly told him no he won’t marry him before his monkhood, I wanted to punch his mopey face and I love him, it was frustrating

It was nice to read your review, it fixed my opinion a little, they got some plus points, haha
Did you watch Don’t say no? How did you like Fiat’s and Leo’s story? When I watched the trailer I was stoked, the whole plot was so funny and charming, but as I started watching I was not as impressed
Also, I would be happy if you shared your movie list with me :D

@soleis I have a list of movies from before I started watching Thai BL's (it's kind of short, but it's still good). Okay, so here's my theory. The first season was indeed more about Type. It was to get him to open up to not just Tharn but also the LGBT community as well. He knows that not all "straight" people are good people but, being that he is scarred as a child he assumes the worst for the LGBT community. Most of his camera time is spent spitting out harsh words and actions, to end up getting reprimanded or reflecting on those actions. When he attempted to date Puifai, he kept thinking of Tharn. He knew where his heart was and left the woman and ran back to Tharn and apologized. When he goes back to his hometown, the creepy foreigner (yes cause he was kind of creepy), that tried to approach Type, yelled out something harsh after (and before) his friend took him outside the get-together. Type felt bad (after his friend came out to him in frustration) because one, he hurt his best friend, and two because he was being a hypocrite. He knew where his friend lived and yes could have gone to see him but, you could tell he wanted to apologize from the way that he kept looking for his friend. (They made up later in the special) Type eventually becomes comfortable with the fact that yes, he is dating a man and even tries to protect Tharn from his dad's childish ways when he took him home for the first time. Most of the camera time with both Tharn and Type was spent getting Tharn to try to break down Type's walls and get him to trust and like him (with added fun time).
Now, the second season however is a little different. I think some people didn't enjoy it because they were trying to zero in on Tharn and Types relationship as a whole but, that's now really what the second season was about. We can all agree that they may be cute but there are aspects (especially in the first season) that show how toxic they can be together. That being said the second season was about Tharn's insecurities. Beyond all of the crap going on with Type's boss and Fiat, because, even though it was important to the story, it was quite minuscule(the stuff going on with his boss at least). Tharn had some issues. Tharn and Type's relationship had been going okay so far for these six years. But in the seventh year, Thorn, Tharn's older brother, tells everyone that he's getting married. Tharn sees this and even though yes this might have been on his mind for a while now, starts hinting to Type that he wants to get married. Now you know Type freaks out, say hey we're two guys that would be impossible, blah blah blah. Tharn was even willing to put his hand in a hot frying pan if that meant that Type would forgive him. Fiat caused a disturbance in their relationship because Tharn felt as though Type was cheating on him. Instead of calmly taking the situation over they get into an argument leading them to take a break from each other. Type had actually been looking forward to seeing Tharn that whole time and because Fiat decided to buzz around Type and kiss him (because that's what Fiat thought he himself wanted) Tharn lashed out claiming Type had a lover. They make up only to get into a disagreement about marriage once again. By this time, Type had been okay with the thought but felt there was something he needed to do for his parents (hence the monkhood). This argument was squashed as soon as it started because Type told Tharn that yes, he still wants to marry him but after his monkhood. I liked the second season because it showed their everyday life and that yes they do have disagreements. Type loves Tharn to the moon and back but also can't stand his jealousy sometimes because it gets in the way of his rational thinking. Tharn loves Type just the same but, being that this was his longest relationship by date is most likely scarred from his ex-best friends deeds from season one. Think about it, his previous relationships ended abruptly because Llong interfered. He's scared that he will lose Type in some unforeseen event; but instead of talking about it he goes into a fit of jealousy and makes Type mad.

@raidonce I highly recommend I Told The Sunset About You, it's not just the story, but the way it's filmed and the colors and music, its art
I would love to hear your theory! I felt that the first season was more type's story, but in the second season I was so confused, I feel like they had a lot of good opportunities and the story could expand with Type and the way he was treated in the hospital, but there was no depth, on the other side I found Tharn "childish", especially in that scene, were his brother's secretary supposedly liked him, but it was just to make Type jealous, I was like seriously, after 7 years you pull this kind of crap!? also, all that crying toward the end when they were apart, I didn't understand that for me there was something missing
In my opinion 2moons2 had bad acting, odd story and characters, I didn't watched the whole series, I read about that scandal too it's unfortunate, I'm not from Thailand, and I find it fascinating how much promotion actors do, and all sorts of advartazing, how many interviews they do(sometimes get asked very, very odd question?!), often behind the scenes are released, the fans monitor all the social media - it's insane
the movie, I think I watched it, it sounds really familiar, I should keep a list of good shows or something

@soleis I haven't seen I Told Sunset About You. But I enjoyed the second season of Tharntype. The second seasons problems seemed lame because they were more focused on Tharn rather than Type. Tharn had issues that he needed to solve and get over. The first season was more about Type. I have a whole theory about this if you want to hear it. I personally couldn't get into 2 moons 2. Liked the first season but the second season seemed like they were trying to undo bad press from the 1st season; it felt unoriginal. Have you seen Two Weddings And A Funeral? It's a really good good movie.

@raidonce I haven't heard of Not me, but I looked up the plot and it sounds very interesting, I love that more series moves away from student life, I got tired of them engineers xD I saw Earth and Mix are getting two new dramas next year, I never would have thought they'll get so popular, I don't really see it ... but Moonlight Chicken trailer looks nice and interesting. OK - Bad Buddy is surprising me every week, I like it more with each episode :D :D :D Have you watched: I told the sunset about you? In my opinion, that series was so well directed, I also watched behind the scenes it was so interesting listening to the director explaining his work, the second season I haven't finished yet, it's also promising, but I rarely find the second season being as good as the first. Have you watched Tharn Type? I loved the first season, but the second was such a letdown, they had so many opportunities to make it good, especially placing it 7 years in the future, but their problem/difficulties were so "lame" I don't have the word, but it didn't feel couples after 7 years would deal with the problems like they did - too much crying for nothing,
which series are on the top of your list?

@soleis I look forward to that one and Not Me. I saw something yesterday on YouTube where they showed a list of possible GMMTV Bls. The director for Take of 1000 stars/Bad Buddy will direct two of those dramas and Earth and Mix will be in I believe both or maybe just one, I'm not sure.

@raidonce I think I watched Kuroko's Basketball, I also watched one anime that dive's into tennis and one about music, I forgot the titles, they were also non bl. I loved MODC, even the sad ending - I found it fresh and I know many don't like to watch if they know there is a sad ending, but I like the drama and here and there a sad ending add reality to the stories, I didn't watch the whole Right or wrong, that student/teacher relationship didn't appeal to me, but I liked the volleyball players. I was just scrolling throughg ig and stumbled upon so many new trailers for BL series, especially thai ones, 2022 is going to be lit hahaha I can't believe how much the "industry" has grown in these past 2-3 years?! I'm really excited for the Kinn&Porche series, that one is really making us wait

@soleis Yes the live series. I enjoyed Trapped as well as MODC, I know everyone is in tears about that ending but, that acting was on point. I also liked Right Or Wrong. I also get what you're saying on the sport aspect in anime. For me that anime would be Ahiru No Sora (non bl) I'm not all that into basketball ball but, the way they conveyed it was better than Kuroko's Basketball.

@raidonce I also watched Love Stage and read the manga, I enjoyed Yuri on ice too, I love when anime does a certain sport and they do it on point, you know what I mean, I actually learned a lot about ice skating through that anime. Baker Boys - I actually read the manga wwwwaaaayyyyy back XD , I heard about the Korean movie version, but I don't think I ever watched it, but I did add it on the list now, with History series you mean live seriers right - I watched them, I really liked Trapped

@soleis I love junjou Romantica and Sekkaiichi Hatsukoi. Those two were my first two bl anime's. But I also like Love Stage, Dakachi, Spiritpact, Hioriime my hero, and Given. I also like Yuri on ice but I felt that just scratched the surface of bl. I'm going to watch Baker Boys but, I will wait until it finishes airing. I'm curious to see how this adaption will play out I really liked the Korean movie back in 2008. I also like the History series.

@raidonce at first, I thought the plot will be two "friends" (with a love-hate relationship) will fall in love, but the fact that Pran is already in love with Pat, who has no idea, is even better I find it more natural and real
Fish Upon the sky was waay to forceful with feelings of love, that really put me off
Baker Boys also started to air :D :D :D I'm having high hopes for this one, Singto is one of my favourite thai actors
I watch BL anime too, I cant of go back and ofth between, manga, anime, fanfiction, real series and movies. One of the first bl stories that I fell in love with was anime Sekaiitchi Hatsukoi - I watched anime first and then read the manga, I dont know what it it but i love that story :D and then I also watched Junjou Romantica, that one did stuck with he as much as the other, and I watched a few others, Koisuru Boukun comes to min too, Hyperventilation,... What is your favorite bl anime?

@soleis I'm loving Bad Buddy it's the Romeo and Juliet thing for me that I like and you can see even in their friendships they're like the Capulet's and the Montague's. I finished Tale of 1000 starts, it gets better at the end but, I agree with you on Fish Upon a sky, that was a bit on the meh side. I finished it but it was still lack luster. Do you watch BL anime too?

@raidonce i'm a succer for romance too :D and also drama, how are you liking Bad Buddy? I was pleasantly surprised, I like it a lot, The thousand stars and fish upon the sky were a little disappointing, i stopped watching in the middle, but with Bad Buddy I can't wait till Friday :D I read manga and webtoon too, but at the moment I'm not following anything specific, just browsing and looking for something nice, one of my favourites is Blue Sky Complex, and other works from the same author
