Do you unsubscribe when...

Do you unsubscribe when you finish reading a story? Like if it is completed and you wrote your comment, will you unsubscribe after?
I was looking at my subscription list and I just find it so messy lol I'm the kind to like delete things when the thing is done but I don't know if authors would like to see their subscribers'numbers decrease, even though a comment was left (maybe an upvote as well if the story was good).

If the story was good and I enjoyed it, I stay subscribed. If there's more content for it or an announcement from the author regarding the story or their other works, staying subscribed even when it's complete is handy.
I rarely ever unsubscribe though, unless the story is unreadable for me (badly-written characters, really bad grammar, inconsistent, etc.)

Yes, I unsubscribe when I'm done reading, and if the fic is completed. I use tags to keep track of everything that I have read, and I want to have only the fics I'm currently reading, or waiting for an update for, in my subscribtions list.

for me subcribe button act as a bookmark button for me since I read too many fic and don't remember which is which. So when I open and it was subcribed, it means I have read that fic. For those fic I really like and appreciate and wished to read again one day, I will upvote it :D

I usually do if the story was kinda “meh” but if I really like it and want to re read, or hope the author makes a sequel, I don’t unsub

@kjms29 True that, and sometimes they add announcements of new story etc once the story is completed so yeah :D

@velvetuox That's why I was hesitating too. Sometimes authors will re write or add a bonus chapter for a completed story and I also like re reading story! :)

Not really, I will keep subscribing if I think the story is worth it and if it's my favorite.
Because sometimes I re-read things :D

@kjms29 For me, it kind of depends. If I find something impossible to read (normally because the grammar is so poor) I would often unsubscribe. I am not actually sure if the author would lose points if someone unsubscribes or not. If the story is just something I am not interested in at that time though, I often stay subscribed thinking that by the time another update is posted I may want to give it another shot.

@PrincessSisi I see^^ what about if you started reading a fic but you end up not liking it, will you unsubscribe or you will just ignore the update and not read it at all?

I don't unsubscribe. Sometimes even if I read a story that is completed before I started reading it, I will subscribe at the end so that the author's account can get the karma points from my subscribing. It does make my subscription list long, but I would rather give the stories and the authors the points.
