  They reached the ward just when Chinen had left. They saw Yamada stood in front of him with face fully wet with the tears. They didn’t know what to say as the tears dripping out and wet their face.             Inoo stepped into the room, followed by Takaki. Inoo stared at the pale face; in his nice sleep with the smile on his lips. Inoo tried not to cry and slowly covered him with the blanket. Takaki patted Yamada on his shoulder and hoped Yamada could be strong.
