I nodded, "yes. Eunchae offered and I said I would think about it." My dad rubbed the back of his neck and sighed. I knew he wouldn't like this at all, but after spending more time with my mom I found out how much we have in common. I wished I could have met her sooner. She's everything I pictured my mother to be and I'm grateful she's my actual mother. 

"Minji, I don't mind you inviting her but you can not move in with her." my dad ordered in his strict voice. I scoffed and rolled my eyes, "shes is my mother! And I'm old enough to make my own decisions." I argued. "Honey," Qui stepped in front of my dad. "Isn't this a little too rushed?" she asked.

I shook my head, "I think it's perfect timing." "I will not let you go!" my dad yelled moving Qui out from his way. I glared at him and crossed my arms. "I will talk to your mother." "No!" I cried, "Why? So you can tell her to not comeback anymore." My dad looked at me shocked, "what are you-" "She told me!" I cut him off, "she told me everything! How you refused for her to see me again. YOU'RE the one who kept me from my own mother!" Tears ran down my cheek.

Lay placed his hands on my shoulders and whispered in my ear, "come on let's go." My dad was still in shock and stood still like an idiot. I whipped my tears away and turned away following Lay to where ever he was taking me. I didn't dare to look back at him.

Lay lead me to my room and closed the door behind him. I sniffed my tears away and sat on my bed, Lay followed behind me and sat next to me. There was an awkward silence before he cleared his throat and spoke up. "Are you serious about this?" he asked. I chuckled and shook my head, "no." "What?!" 

I let out a soft laugh. "My mom did offer me to move in with her, but she's moving to the states in the spring." I sighed and laid my head on his broad shoulder. Lay patted my cheek gently then took a deep breath. "So why did you say that?" he asked. I shrugged, "to get back at my dad. I wasn't lying about him keeping my mom away. Eunchae told me how she would call all the time when I was young but my dad never allowed her to speak or see me."

Lay nodded, "I see." "So I decided to freak him out a bit and lied about leaving." my voice was getting soft. "But I did invite her to the wedding she was saying how much she loved wedding's I guess she was trying to find a way for me to invite her. Luckily for her it worked." Lay placed his arm around me, "I'm relieved you're not leaving." I couldn't help but smile, "why?"

"Because that would mean we wouldn't be able to see each other." he chuckled. I sat up and looked at him with a serious face. "Lay, what are we going to do about us? I'm serious, the wedding is soon and after that we can't be this way with each other. We're going to have to act like siblings and siblings don't like each-" 

I was cut off suddenly by Lay pulling me in and kissing me. My eyes widen at his sudden act but at the same time my legs grew weak and I could my insides doing front flips. Lay cupped my cheeks and kissed me deeper. My eyes began to get heavy and closed on their own as I feel deep into the kiss. His soft lips were caressing mine and for a while all my worries went away. I placed my hands on his chest and pulled him away. "Stop." I said almost out of breath.

"Sorry." he quickly looked away. I could tell he was embarrassed by the way he clenched his fist. I smiled and hugged him, "it's okay I was just surprised." He placed his arm around me again and moved his hand up and down caressing my arm. "I have an idea." he said. I looked up at him, "what is it?"

He grinned showing his cute dimple and stood up. "I can't tell you." he replied. I stood up and furrowed my brows at him. "Why not?" Lay ruffled my hair and stood up, "you'll see when it's time for the wedding." Then he walked out my room leaving me behind all confused. 

I threw myself back onto the bed and touched my lips. Smiling, I could feel my face get hot and butterflies in my stomach. I squealed silently and tried to get some sleep.

"Why didn't you tell me?!" Hani yelled and slapped my arm. "Ow!" I glared at her and rubbed my arm, "that's why! I knew you'd get all dramatic." Hani scoffed then pulled my in close, "so how was it? Is she mean?" I laughed and shook my head, "no! She's really nice and pretty." I nodded. 

"I still can't believe you dad lied to you all these years." she said. I sighed, "yeah...anyway I need to tell you what happened after." Hani smiled eagerly, "tell me tell me tell me." I was about to tell her about what happened to Lay and I, but before I could I was pulled to the side by someone.

"Minji." it was Lay. He looked like he was out of breath and his messy hair made him look even more handsome. "What?" I asked. He leaned in and whispered to me, "don't tell her we have to keep this a secret at least till the wedding." Lay then walked away fast. I watched as he left feeling confused. 

"So what happened?" Hani asked pulling onto my sleeve. I looked at her and smiled, "nothing. Come on we're going to be late for class." I said trying to change the subject. Hani whined the whole way.

By lunch I was expecting to see Lay again, but he was missing from the table. "Boss you haven't eaten your food. Are you sick?" Chanyeol asked placing his hand on my forehead. I shook my head and smiled at him, "I'm not sick I'm just not hungry." "Well I am." Kai laughed pulling my lunch tray to his side and began to eat my untouched food. "You eat too much." Sehun slapped his arm. "I just had gym so I need to get back my strength with food." Kai said taking a huge bite of my turkey sandwich. I smiled at the two. 

"Hey guys." Lay said as he arrived late. I stood up straight. "Where you been?" Tao asked. "Busy," he smiled and pulled out a pile of white envelopes. "Here take one all of you are invited to my moms wedding." he announced. I gasped and widen my eyes. What is he doing???

"A wedding? Cool!" Baekhyun grinned as he took one and passed the rest around. Hani tried to play it off like she didn't know. "Yay I love weddings!" she cheered and took hers. I bite my lip and took one then passed it on to Chanyeol. "When is it?" Kyungsoo asked. "Next week so please come." Lay replied.

I placed the envelope in my back pack and hung my head low. I could feel a migraine approaching. "Of course we will." Sehun patted his back and read the invitation out loud. "You're cordially invited to Mr. and Mrs. Lee's wedding." he began. "Whoa I didn't know your mom was remarrying. Congrats dude." Chanyeol high fived Lay. "Thanks." he grinned. He then looked my direction, "it's going to be a life changing experience for me and I need my friends support." "You got it." Kai smiled and gave him a thumbs up.

I rubbed my temples. "You okay boss?" Chanyeol asked again. I nodded and forced a smile, "yes I'm completely okay and happy for Lay." I grinned my teeth. Lay smiled, "thanks Minji I'll be very happy if you came as well." "Ohhhh Lay likes Minji." Baekhyun teased causing the whole table to break out into laughter. I just sighed and wanted this migraine to go away, fast.

"How was school?" Qui asked as I arrived home. "Great." I said in a sarcastic tone, "turns out Yixing decided to invite all out friends." I glared at him as he stepped inside. He laughed and patted my head, "I had to invite my friends." "You know we can't invite them." I whispered at him and pinched his side. "Ow." he stepped away from me rubbing his side. 

"Aw I think that's nice." Qui said as she hurried to the door carrying a bunch of center pieces. "I'll be back later okay  if you're hungry there's money at the kitchen table order something." she announced before she left. "Wow she looks stressed." I said feeling bad that I didn't offer to help. "Yeah." Lay added and sat on the couch. 

I decided to sit next to him, "so..." I trailed on, "why did you decide to invite everyone?" I asked. He turned to me and smiled, "because we have to tell them eventually." I sighed and sank into the softness of the couch, "I was hoping they'd never find out." Lay grabbed my arm and pulled me towards him making me rest my head on his lap. "You look tired get some rest." he said. I yawned and nodded, "I hope what you're doing isn't going to blow up at our faces." Lay laughed and shushed me, "just rest Minji." I nodded and closed my eyes.

I was woken to someone shaking me. "Hm?" I peeked an eye open and found it was my dad. I shot right up and looked around, Lay was gone. "Tired?" he asked. I shook my head and sat up rubbing my eyes. "Where's Yixing?" I asked. "In his room." my dad replied and sat next to me. "Oh."

"Look about your mom I-" "It's okay dad." I cut him off, "I'm not moving out." "Oh thank god." he said relieved. "Why didn't you tell me?" I asked. My father looked at me and sighed, "I was mad okay. Your mom left me and I loved her. I thought it was unfair that she simply packed her bags and left me like that with you. I mean I was scared." he began to explain. "I had to ask my mom to help raise you, it wasn't easy. And your mom called expecting everything to be okay but it wasn't. Look, I know I should have told you and I'm sorry. But you moving in with her isn't a good idea."

I smiled and patted his shoulder, "I know, she mentioned leaving to the states soon and I couldn't be able to leave you." My dad smiled and pulled me into a hug, "I love you baby." "I love you too dad." I hugged him back. "Don't ever scare me like that again." he scolded. I laughed and pulled away from the hug, "I won't I promise." "Good girl." he smiled and caressed my cheek. "Where's Qui?" he asked. I shrugged, "she's out doing wedding stuff." "Oh." he nodded and stood up, "that women is incredible." I smiled, "you really love her huh." My dad looked at me and smiled, "yes I really do." he nodded. I couldn't help but hug him, "I'm glad then." "Thank you Minji."

I spotted Lay off to the side. He was smiling and when we locked eyes and he gave me a thumbs up. I smiled and hugged my dad even tighter. My dad must have endured so much pain and he's finally happy. I can't ruin his happiness, whatever Lay and I have must be ended. I can't stand to see my dad suffer again and if that means sacrificing my own love then that's okay.
