I know in your life, I wasn't the perfect man. 

With a million defects, you still told me I was the man of your dreams.

I was never grateful to the love you gifted me. 

All the passion you gave me as our bodies were pressed close, no space in between. 

And now you're gone. 

Now you're gone, like a leaf the wind carries without looking back. 

And you leave me.

You leave me, like a rain droplet that won't ever return to the clouds. 

And you disperse like a hawk spreading it's wings, flying in no particular direction. 

You sail off like a boat seeking new land. A world not use to the love  you and I shared. 

You're gone...

I swear, it wasn't my intention to hurt you so badly and cause you pain. 

I believed I gave you love, but never realized I was failing your heart and expectations. 

Today, that you're not here, your prescience seems to lurk like a ghost  in the darkness. 

And the solitude has become my best friend.
