“What’s happening?” Seagull repeated loudly, trying to be heard above the wailing alarms.
“We hit an asteroid belt that we didn’t know existed in this part. The ship’s taken a bunch of damage and I don’t think we’re going to go down smoothly,” Jin replied absentmindedly as he pushed repeatedly against a large blue circle. “Why won’t it deploy?!"
“What do you mean?” Suga looked over at him, startled. “They won’t--"
“No,” Jin shook his head frantically and went back over to the keyboard. “Communications is down too, I can’t contact Ereve…”
A first line of defense had always existed in the Elders' plans, but nobody had had the potential to take the position-- until seven boys had made their presences known. With universal chaos imminent, these boys would become more useful than anything else in stopping the Dark Mage's rise to power. Now the galaxy has its own guardians: seven of Ereve's best Wielders, hand picked from the Academies by the Elders themselves. Will these seven be enough to protect the galaxy, or will Ereve and its allies succumb to the forces of the Dark Mage?
Foreword
Hello dear readers.
This story has been one in the making for a very long time, originally with all original characters, edited to fit an EXO MAMA powers theme, re-edited back to original characters, and now in complete bulletproof glory. Ideas and parts of plots have been floating around inside my head for nearly a year now, which is a pretty long time considering this is my first official fan fiction to post publicly.
I'll admit, the plot is going to be pretty tangled up in the beginning, but I'm planning on posting a tangential chapter that'll cover most of the background information about this extensive alternate universe.
Okay, now's the time to admit-- I play MapleStory (one of my few guilty pleasures aside from k-pop). I've played a couple of the character choices and was basically awed at the depth of the plot presented by the game makers (pretty jealous, too). So I will say now that a lot of this story's plot is taken from bits and pieces of MapleStory. I hope this isn't a severe copyright infringement? But yeah if anything sounds remotely like something from MapleStory, then it probably is from the game. For example, the Dark Mage is definitely not completely of my original thought. Eh, more will be revealed in the background info chapter.
Oh, you wanna know the characters? Now's a good time for that, yes. I tried to find the pictures that had the members wearing the least bling... that would be very out of context lmao
