the monarchies

These are the monarchies currently involved in the roleplay. As we get more characters, we'll add more countries, but we're sure that this is enough for now.

South korea (family name: lee)

South Korea is a new constitutional monarchy, meaning that their emperor and empress rule alongside a parliament elected by the people. Being a new monarchy formed in the 1940s, South Korea is still forming relations with the other countries. For now, it has a good relationship with all of the nations, and is well-liked because it hasn't caused much trouble. The title of monarch is given to the eldest son, even if he has older sisters.

China was long divided by various political parties, until a monarch finally united the country in the late 19th century. Since then, the country has been an absolute monarchy, meaning that the emperor has total power, and the throne is passed down to the eldest son of the emperor, regardless of the number of daughters that came before him. China has a neutral relationship with most other countries, except for a rivalry with Japan. For the most part, it's feared by the rest of the world.
