Looking at the clock, for what seemed like the hundredth time this evening; it read 8:30pm. Sunggyu was an hour and thirty minutes late, and of all days, on your second anniversary. You just couldn’t stop yourself from moving about your apartment were you were waiting for Sunggyu so he could take you to dinner at your favorite restaurant. You were upset that he had not called or texted to tell you where he was or why he was running so late.

            When the clock reached 9:00pm you decided to give up on waiting because you knew he probably was not coming based on how late it was. About forty minutes later you heard a tune notifying you that someone was at the door. Going over to the device you pressed the button, to let you view who was outside, only to see Sunggyu. You thought it would be better and decided to not answer the door because you were still upset and disappointed. Walking away from the door you hear the familiar ring of your phone. Upon looking at the caller ID you see that it was Sunggyu you went ahead and answered it. “_____, Listen I am sorry that I forgot about our anniversary. The roof was kind of dark and you couldn’t really see why they wanted you to come up here.

            Suddenly music began to play and you were surrounded by lights, it was beautiful and in the center of this stood your boyfriend, Sunggyu. He opened his mouth and began to sing a song you knew too well:

As the song ended he came over to you and placed his warm hand on you cheek using his thumb to whip the tear trailing down you cheek. “I know I can’t make you forget about missing our anniversary and I want you to know I am really sorry, but I hope I can make it up to you now and in the future” He said as he placed a box into your hand. Once you opened it you saw a beautiful necklace in the shape of a heart. “Here let me put it on for you,” he said as you turned around for him to put it on. As he clipped it he wrapped his arms around your waist pulling you towards him, and as he did this he said into your ear, “So now you know no matter where I am or who I am with my heart will always be with you,” placing a gentle kiss upon you cheek, “I love you,_____.” As he pulled away he smiled at you and grabbed your hands pulling you towards a table that was set up in the middle, “I brought take-out from the place down the street. Let’s eat before it gets cold.” You looked over at Sunggyu and said,

“Sunggyu?”

“Yes _____”

“I love you, too.”
