Your POV

The cold air of the night kissed your skin. You sat on the ground trying to digest the explanation on why were you chased by that thing and ended up being saved by a Vampire…yes a Vampire.. of all the things in the world to save you… a Vampire… The Irony of Life you thought.

“So let me get this straight” you started “Every 100 years a portal connecting this world to yours opens on one night and allows creatures like you and that thing to freely roam our world!? Correct?”

“Yes” he said in a serious tone

“and werewolves look for human girls to offer to their master am I right? And unfortunately I was chosen!?” you asked

“uh-huh..well more like marked”

“I’ve been what?” you said wide eyed “but I don’t see any bites or scratches” you immediately scanned yourself for trails and nothing..you were clean

“Actually the mark isn’t visible…that beast left you a scent that only werewolves can smell that’s why they will be able to track you down”

You almost lost your balance upon hearing the news

“so they will find me wherever I go?”

“Apparently, yes”

“and its your job to make sure that that they won’t succeed in taking me?”

“Yep” he said

“how can I trust you?” you asked out of the blue “I mean you’re a vampire and practically you lived through human blood” you cocked “How should I know if you’re intentions are not as bad as the werewolves huh?”

He just looked at you with disbelief and let out a chuckle

“Ok if I’m as bad as you think…how is it that you can still breath and your blood is still in your body huh?! Do you think that I will waste my time and talk to you if you’re just dinner?”

“point well taken…so how do you feed yourself then?” you asked curiosity all over your tone

“Ugh…don’t ask …Its not that pleasing for me” he said

 “okay I won’t geez….anyway why do you it?”

“Do what?” he asked while raising an eyebrow

“It.. I mean why do you save the girls that get chosen by the werewolves?”

“Simple, to maintain the balance” he said “If ever the werewolves succeeds in bringing a human girl in our world the portal will never close giving access to other beings to roam this world causing total chaos … and as the most rational beings in our world its our job to keep things the way they are..So we’re like the Police… in our world”

“Wait What?! OTHER BEINGS?? You mean besides werewolves and vampires like you there are others?” you questioned in disbelief

“Yes, all the monsters that haunted you when you were still little are real”

Your mouth immediately fell open. “All of them? So dwarfs, fairies, big foot, chupacabra, and all those weird creatures exists?   ” you mentally asked

You were pulled back to reality when you heard him chuckle.

“Yah! What’s funny?” you snapped

“Your reaction, you don’t believe in them don’t you? In beings like us?”

“Apparently  yes, but from what I’ve been through tonight who wouldn’t?”

He gave you a warm smile and you can’t help but admire his facial features. Yeah.. he kinda looks like a girl probably prettier but there something really masculine about him that you can’t seem to put your finger on.

“Ahm Miss Don’t you know its rude to stare?” he chuckled

! You snapped out of your trance and faced him although your cheeks are burning from sheer humiliation

“I..I was not” you stuttered

“Really? Look you’re drooling” he pointed at a corner of your lip

Wide eyed… you unconsciously wiped your lip.

“Am not!”  you pouted

He smirked “are too!” he teased

“AM NOT!” you retorted

“You know you don’t have to be shy, all girls react the same way as you do once they meet a gorgeous hotty like me”

“Psh..please your so full of yourself ..you know that right?” you said sarcastically

“It can’t be helped….I’m HOT” as he fanned himself with his hand

“psh! I never knew that vampires were this conceited aigoo” as you made a face to .

“trust me there’s more to us than meets the eye” he said before flashing you with his killer wink

You scoffed and faked that you were about faint and he laughed with your little show. 

 You don’t know why but you blushed at the sight. Hearing his laugh for the first time, seeing how his perfectly bow shaped lips curve into a wide smile showing off those adorable cheekbones. The scene for you was breath taking. You even forgot the dangers you were in and enjoyed that little moment with him. “wait HIM! oh my gosh I don’t even know his name yet” you mentally screamed happy that he couldn’t hear it.

“So what’s your name Mr. Hotty?” you asked sarcasm all over your tone

“Kim Kibum..but they call me Key back home” he answered

“Key? As in Keys Key?”

“Yep…thus its easier to remember” he cocked

“okay..its Key then..Nice to meet you Key…..I’m Christa Lee” as you offered your right hand for a handshake which he took “but my friends call me Chris”

“Nice to meet you Chris and don’t worry I won’t let them take you… the balance hangs on it” then he flashed he’s most honest smile and you couldn’t believe that you just introduced yourself and shook hands with the thing you forced yourself not to believe to all these years…well that is after you got chased by a werewolf and ended up being saved by him.

“Well now that the introduction is done where are we?” you asked

“on top of a building” he said

You slapped his shoulder

“Owww…” he yelped in pain “YAH! that hurts” he said while caressing his abused shoulder

“I know that doofus… I meant which building!?” you said as you rolled your eyes.

“I don’t know…Somewhere here I guess” he shrugged

“Ugh!., , Seriously? What now then?” you annoyingly asked

“Well the plan is to keep you far away from the portal as possible”

“Where is the portal anyway?”

“You’re Apartment!”

With questioning eyes you stared at him and he just shrugged at you.

“It’s a good thing you weren’t home when the portal opened or else they’d be total chaos by now” he said

What the heck?! So I have to thank Beansbottom for punishing me? You mentally asked

“Why the hell is it in MY apartment?” you shouted

“Did I forgot to tell you that the portal opens at random places?” he asked while biting his lower lip

..stop biting your lip.. its really distracting..you mentally cussed

“Apparently not!” you answered with a sarcastic tone while your hands are in your waste trying to forget what you just saw and concentrated on getting mad at him. 

 “Well it opened in your apartment and that’s the reason why the werewolves are chasing you now.. The werewolf that I killed moments ago was the first one to come out of the portal and must have picked up your scent in your room and followed it until it found you and chose you to be offered to their master” he continued

 “ great..just great so I wont be able to go home ..aish..where will we go then?” you asked

“We need to find a place packed with people so that the werewolves may not easily pick up your scent..and I know the perfect place” he said

“and where might that be?”

“you’ll see” and you swear he just flashed you an evil grin. Your eyes widened realizing why he’s staring at you like that.

“oh no..no no no not again..I am not gonna let you do that agai—AHHHHHHHH!” too late.. he already carried you with both of his hands and jumped to another building.
