Kai’s face was getting closer and closer, until the only space between them was only an inch of air.

He was so tense, and Kyungsoo could not choose between fright or favor.

The little boy paid attention to the striking yellow color of the monster’s left eye, and the astonishing aqua of the other’s—and he hated to admit that those are the most beautiful pair of eyes he had ever seen.

From that close, Kyungsoo could smell the scent of the monster’s breath. It was cold, and it was dark.

Pleasantly dark.
