He just didn't avoid it for any reasons, he didn't understand what made all 3 of those things mix so well together. He didn't understand until he experienced every little detail these things carried. Until he basically destroyed his entire being by unconditionally and fully loving Kim Jongin. Not all couples have significant love stories to tell and Kim Jongin believed any love story could become a great and completely satisfying story if you considered putting in all the details of course, Do Kyungsoo only believed in the sun rising the next day on occasional mental breakdowns. I guess you could say that this is what made their love story unique more or less of than saying they lived unsatisfied with a love that stood around broken hearts and arguing, but that's not what it happened to spill out to be and they were 100% happy about it.
