The Day You Cooked For Me
The Day I Met You
Hyejeong woke up to see, thankfully, that Seolhyun was still asleep. The younger girl had thrown her arm around Hyejeong, along with
her leg, as if she were a giant body pillow. Hyejeong smiled and smoothed the other's hair from her face, and then carefully, hoping that
Seolhyun was a heavy sleeper, pulled off the girl's arm and leg from her. After that was done, Hyejeong walked into the bathroom and
took a hot shower. After she was done taking a shower, she wrapped her body with a fluffy towel and brushed her teeth, doing her hair
and make up afterwards. Hyejeong walked out of the bathroom and checked her phone. It was only 6:30. She dressed into skinny jeans
and a sweater, and after checking herself in the mirror, she walked out to wake Seolhyun up, but was met with the smell of food.
"Good morning unnie!" Seolhyun said from the kitchen. Hyejeong stared at the girl for a few seconds. Her bed hair was really
adorable.
"Good morning," Hyejeong replied, pouring herself a cup of water. "What are you doing?"
"Well, you always made all of our meals so I thought maybe I should cook for us too," Seolhyun said, a sheepish smile on her face.
"Well chef, I'll be waiting," Hyejeong said, laughing. After a few more minutes, Seolhyun came to the table with two plates full of
food. Seolhyun's cooking looked like the food made for the gods. Hyejeong stared at the perfectly golden bread, eggs, and bacon.
"Hyejeong unnie? Do you want to eat it, or stare at it?" Seolhyun said, a laugh barely kept back.
"H-huh? Oh-oh yeah, haha," she said. She picked up her utensils and then dug in almost regretfully. The food looked too good to eat.
She took her first bite, and almost gagged.
"Unnie, is it good?" Seolhyun asked. And when Hyejeong looked up, the girl was looking at her with a hopeful expression. After
forcing the mouthful of abomination down, she composed her face.
"Yeah! It's really good! Where'd you learn how to make it?" she said, forcing a smile on her face.
"I learned by myself because, you know."
"Ah, I see," Hyejeong trailed off. "Well I really like cooking, you know? So let me cook from now on, yeah?" Hyejeong said, praying in
her mind that the younger would agree.
"Mmm I don't know unnie, I think we should be fair and split it evenly!" Seolhyun said. Hyejeong hadn't wanted to resort to this, but she
knew that if she was going to survive, she had to do whatever it took.
"Please Seolhyun ah? I REALLY like cooking, it's a hobby of mine. So pleeeeaaasssee?" Hyejeong begged. She had her irresistable
puppy dog eyes on and Seolhyun had obviously fallen for it.
"Awwww. I mean, if you want to that much unnie," she said, a broad smile on her face. Hyejeong sighed in relief, in her mind of
course, and then checked the time.
"Seolhyun, you should go get ready now," Hyejeong said, still looking at the clock.
"Oh, okay, I'll be back unnie!" Seolhyun said, and then bounced off. Hyejeong gave a sigh of relief and slumped against the table.
How was it possible that Seolhyun was such a bad cook? She looked down at the heavenly looking food again and shook her head.
Looks could be deceiving.
Hyejeong looked up at the surprisingly clear sky. It was still chilly though, and Hyejeong looked over at Seolhyun. "Seolhyun, you
know, we should keep our...relationship a secret, right?"
Seolhyun looked over at Hyejeong with an interested look. "I guess if you want it like that unnie," she said, smiling at the taller girl.
Hyejeong walked into the classroom, a smile on her face as she talked to Seolhyun.
"Hyejeong-ah!" Yuna exclaimed, skipping over to Hyejeong. "Woah, did you hit the jackpot or something? Why are you all...smiling?"
the blonde asked, backing away. "Are you Hyejeong? Are you a fake? What did you do to her?"
Seolhyun giggled, "No unnie, Hyejeong unnie is just in a good mood today," she said smiling up at Hyejeong.
"No no no she's smiling waaayyyy too much. She's either high, or she's a fake," Yuna said, crossing her arms and shaking her head.
"Are you stupid? I'm just in a good mood, okay?" Hyejeong said, her normal short temper back.
"Nevermind, that's Hyejeong, false alarm!" she called out, as the others in the classroom had been watching the scene in a half
amused, half scared mood. Half amused by Yuna, half scared by what Hyejeong might do to her.
"Idiot," Hyejeong muttered as she walked to her desk and sat down. As Hyejeong began to look out of the window, Seolhyun's face
suddenly popped out in front of her.
"Unnie~ don't be angry," Seolhyun said in a cute whiny voice, pouting. Hyejeong wanted to kiss the adorable girl then and there, but
she held back, knowing fully what the consequences would be.
"I'm not mad, she's just annoying," she said, shooting a glare at the girl who was actually bouncing over to them right now.
Yuna stopped all of a sudden and then looked at Seolhyun, who was hugging Hyejeong, and then looked at Hyejeong. Why was the
school's devil letting someone hug her? Before Yuna could say anything, the bell rang, and she pursed her lips, deciding to let the matter
go until lunch.
Yuna walked up to Hyejeong as soon as the lunch bell rang. "Hyejeong, come with me for a bit," she said, already walking out the
door. Hyejeong looked at Yuna's retreating back and then looked at Seolhyun, giving her a shrug and following after the blonde. They
walked until they got to the school's roof.
"So...you and Seolhyun, huh?" Yuna said abruptly.
"Wait, what-what are you talking about?" Hyejeong stuttered, caught off guard by Yuna's sudden confrontation. Yuna was smiling
now, her suspicions confirmed. Hyejeong, contrary to what she looked like, was an absolutely horrible liar.
"When did my little Hyejeongie grow up to go out with someone, hmm?" Yuna said teasingly. "But I do seriously wonder what innocent
little Seolhyun sees in you...Ow!" Yuna exclaimed as Hyejeong hit her on the back of her head.
"Shut up! And don't-don't tell anyone or I'll kill you, okay?" Hyejeong said, doing her best to look scary in her vulnerable state.
"Okay, okay!" Yuna giggled as Hyejeong put her in a headlock. Hyejeong let go of her friend, huffing as her face was bright red. "I was
just kidding earlier, you guys look really cute together," Yuna said, smiling reassuringly at Hyejeong. She walked towards the edge of the
rooftop, leaning against the tall supporting wall and looked down. "But, are you sure you'll be alright with loving Seolhyun? I know you
have...problems with that," Yuna said.
Hyejeong looked down at the ground. "I'm sure I can overcome it," she said, but there was uncertainty in her voice.
"You should explain to Seolhyun about it before you hurt her out of nowhere," Yuna said, looking back at the tall girl.
"But, but what if she decides she doesn't want to go out with me anymore? What if she doesn't want to bother with my phobia?"
Hyejeong said, looking back up at Yuna, confliction in her eyes.
"Hyejeong-ah you know Seolhyun wouldn't do that. She's not that kind of a person. She'll understand," Yuna said, walking over to
Hyejeong and rubbing her back. Yuna, having been friends with Hyejeong for so long, knew that the girl's cold and distant attitude was
just a mask to cover up her insecurities and vulnerabilities.
"Yeah, yeah I know, I'll tell her at home today," she said, then froze.
"What do you mean by...at home? Are you living with her?!" Yuna said, staring at Hyejeong.
"May...be?"
"What the hell? What about her parents? Where's her parents?"
Hyejeong didn't answer that question. "I'm not the person to tell you about that topic, but yes, she's living with me."
"Since when?" Yuna said, staring Hyejeong down.
"Friday, she got...hurt, on Friday, so I brought her to my house."
"Okay, okay, let's just leave it at that, but anyway, be sure to tell Seolhyun about your phobia," Yuna said, and with a pat on the tall
girl's shoulder, walked back into the building. Hyejeong sighed and leaned against the support wall, looking over the school.
Hyejeong watched Seolhyun, who was oblivious to her staring. "Seolhyun, I have to tell you something at home," Hyejeong said.
Seolhyun looked over at her, tilting her head slightly.
"Okay unnie," she said with a smile. The two got to the apartment building, talking about random things, and Hyejeong was about to
walk into the building when a voice stopped her dead in her tracks.
"It's been awhile Hyejeong."
