Telephone
Telephone
The Telephone rings
Four in the morning.
With my head on the pillow and eyes barely used for a dawn.
Ring ring ring...
I sat up and picked it up.
It wasn't as if I'm into it, who's gonna haul it up anyway?
I rubbed my eyes as I groggily say; "Who's this?"
You were crying.
There's an immediate pangs of nervousness that knocks my chest.
You're not saying anything
But I can hear you breathing.
Though I was merely shivering I tried to ask again.
"Who's this?"
You didn't answer that . . .
. . . you were breathing.
And as it heaves harder in every tick of the clock,
I knew.
"Is this. . . Kyungsoo?"
It was a low voice above my whisper
Enough for you to hear.
You were breathing right through my ears.
Then you muttered something. . .
"Yes, I am."
Though I knew the answer even before you say it, I became muted when I heard your voice. Clear enough for a cry.
There should have enough reason how you'd ended calling me in this very moment.
Four in the morning.
You were awake, calling me thru phone. . .
Thinking of me too...
I hoped.
Then you started to talk eventually.
"We have a problem, Kai."
Followed by a low whimper, probably a cry, you breathe again.
The shiver thru my skin crawl even harder as the final word slipped out your mouth.
But I responded fairly.
"What is it?"
I tried to calm myself, sitting up as I tried to find my slippers.
Failing to find it, I went back to lie on my bed.
Then you started to tell me story.
