This was definitely not the life he expected to live. Not when he was 21, fresh out of college, and ready to start making his journalism dreams happen. Armed with a camera (one that took 3 years of saving up to buy, and another year to buy proper gear for) and a notepad in his messenger bag, Mark Tuan thought he would have his life figured out by now after the few years he spent deciding between going to university or working right away. He chose the latter with high hopes that he would land a job. Alas, that’s not how things were going for him at the moment. He was not busy covering important events, having companies pay him for his outstanding work, or even so much as working for a magazine. Instead…
“Jr! Look over here!” “Jb! Jb!” “Just a smile, boys!!!” “Are you guys dating anyone?!” “Jr, how do you keep your skin so smooth?” That last question earned a slight laugh from the member, causing at least a dozen cameras to flash at the same time, Mark’s being one of them. He sighed as he put his camera down just as more photographers got in his way. He did not expect to end up being part of the paparazzi following after South Korea’s current biggest boyband, JJ Project. This was not the reality he wanted. It was far from it, but Mark decided it was a step he had to take if he wanted to reach the top. It’s not an overnight dream, after all, to bump shoulders with the best journalists out there. He just thought that, well, maybe there was a better path other than the paparazzi life, seeing how it wasn't technically considered as a legit job. It was all about taking photos and sending them to companies; sometimes he would send in a resume as well, but none would contact him again. Either way, it pays the rent well, so he figured all these photos of the JJ Project duo weren't that bad. It even leaves a little extra for his own funds, and for other daily things. Still, Mark wanted more. He knew he had to do more, too. He skimmed through the photos he had taken so far- they were all the same as what the other paparazzi’s probably have. Jb smiling, Jr smiling, both of them smiling, it was all nice really, but it’s nothing new. Nothing that would get him paid well, nothing that would make his name jump out.
