“Lee Donghae, report to the head scientist's office now. I repeat, Lee Donghae, report to the head scientist's office now.”

A scrawny young male dashes down the empty hallway. 

Somewhere among the hasty footsteps 

"Lee! You are late again!"

Somewhere among life and the tribulations it brings 

"I'm sorry Prof, I won't be again." 

They found-

The wrinkled man merely nods, gesturing for the young boy to follow him. 

"I know you're a talented young man, Lee. But I don't want to see you being late again if you still want to be a scientist." Donghae nods, meekly uttering a "Yessir." 

The elder leads Donghae up a flight of stairs, then another, and then down a hallway Donghae has never seen before. Donghae looks around curiously, the sounds of the boiling of test tubes and the spinning of centrifuges reverberating through the corridors. 

"The work area of the seasoned scientists." The elder mutters so softly, Donghae barely catches what he is saying. 

They turn one final corner, and Donghae enters what he perceives to be the head scientist's lab, with all the weird looking prototypes hanging off walls and the scorched table tops, from years of experiments. 

The older scientist suddenly halts, causing Donghae to bump into his shoulder, earning a nasty glare from him. The former then gestures towards a human looking thingamajig sitting at the corner of the lab. 

"It's yours." Donghae's eyes widen. 

"What do you mean by that?" 

The man sighs, exasperated. 

"It's your final project," Donghae gulps, pushing his glasses up. "Your final assessment, boy. And if you pass this, you're on your way to reaching your dreams." 

Donghae takes a step forward, gently tracing the perfectly carved lines, the flawless expanse of skin. 

"Its name is Lee Hyukjae, or 150486." 

"Lee... Hyukjae..." Donghae mutters, and he nearly falls to the ground in shock as the thing moves, and suddenly, a pair of brown eyes stare back at his own. 

"Oh I forgot to mention, I programmed it to start and shut down only to your commands." 

A red light from the sensor on the thing-Lee Hyukjae's arm suddenly flashes. 

“Project number, 150486. Name, Lee Hyukjae. Height, 1.78m. Weight, 64kg. Likes, Strawberries. Hates, Bugs. Date created, 18th July 2080.” The human like thing speaks monotonously, its eyes void of emotion. 

“Ah, yes.” The head scientist declares, rather out of the blue, while clearing his throat, and pushing his rimmed glasses further up the bridge of his nose.

"You are expected to work on this prototype and analyse how it can further be enhanced. The project is due one year later, on the 18th of July."
