Chapter 1

My lips like...warm coffee

Chapter 1

Ever since that day the seat next to the window became Tiffany’s usual spot. Meeting with Yuri every morning became something she look forward to. She has found the happiness in talking with Yuri as if they know each other for ages and yet there is some kind of feeling that she could not shake it off. Her conversation with Yuri felt as if she was reading her favorite books from her favorite author.

Today is not that different from other days, except that it is a Saturday and Tiffany does not need to hurry to work. Her attire is different from the ones she wore to work. It was less glamorous but more comfortable and yet still look stylish. Her outfits consisted of black leather boots and dark denim, which went along really well with her leather jacket. As she finished her order with the barista, she turned and looked Yuri at the seat near the window as always, but she noticed something. There is something about Yuri’s gaze that made her curious.

Yuri’s gaze is tender and kind, but at the same time look so distant as if she looked for something that is very far away. It looked absentminded and yet as if Yuri reminiscence something or someone. It made Tiffany curious of what made Yuri has that kind of expression. The soft light of autumn morning just shine through the window and made Yuri looks as if she was out of a beautiful well taken photo. Tiffany took out her personal notebook and sits herself on the nearest chair and begins to draw a layout of Yuri’s portrait. The sketch slowly takes shape and resembles Yuri more and more, while Tiffany’s lips curved up into a satisfactory smile. Then again Yuri caught her as their eyes met and the playful smile was on Yuri’s face like a little mischievous child. Tiffany puts away her notebook and walked up to take her usual seat.

“I wonder what were you doing back there”

“Just taking some notes…for the stuff that just ran into my head” Tiffany laughed wryly

“I see. I thought you didn’t want to sit with me anymore” Yuri laughed

“Of course not. Otherwise I would have just moved to a new café” Tiffany frowned

“You’re also cute when you frown” Yuri playfully teased

“Oh come on. Yuri…stops the smooth talking. You’re always like this whenever we meet. You like to make me feel so embarrass. Is it that fun?” Tiffany asked before she let the barista put her coffee on the table

“Well… It’s kinda fun. Especially when you blushed. You look cute like that and that made things even more fun” Yuri laughed heartily then take a sip of her usual Americano

“But it’s not fun for me. It’s so embarrassing” Tiffany lightly pushed Yuri by the shoulder

“Ooh. You’re quite something and violent too. Wait…is that also count as a flatter?” Yuri smirked

“Fine! If I’m angry then don’t expect I would forgive you that easy” Tiffany said with a slight warning in her voice before she turned to take a sip of her coffee, which she forgot to blew on it first and burn her tongue almost immediately.

“Wait here then. I will ask him for water” Yuri said with a light laugh but her eyes shows her worries before she gets up and walks to the barista

Tiffany’s eyes follow Yuri and smiled. In a short period of time, she was so grateful that she found Yuri here. In term of friendship, Yuri has been so kind to her, which was difficult for her to find such person in her workplace. She did not have a person she could talk with relieve for quite some time now. It has been three years that she moved to Milan for her dream job. The only friend she found in those three years was through her favorite collection of books that written by her favorite author. Thanks to her friend back home that keep sending the books to her. She looked at Yuri’s empty seat and found a camera bag hanging on the chair before she glances back at Yuri, who came back with a glass of water. She reached out for the glass and drinks the water slowly.

“If you’re going to be angry at me and I didn’t beg you forgiveness then that would be very odd” Yuri said as she takes her seat

“You know I was just being sarcastic” Tiffany replied as she set down the glass

“You have a childish side too, huh?” Yuri lightly patted Tiffany’s head

“Hey..it’s not funny” Tiffany frowned again

“Okay…it’s not funny” Yuri smiled and lightly laughed

“Yuri..” Tiffany eyed Yuri as a warning

“You’re quite fierce when you’re angry” Yuri smirked and Tiffany turned away

“Okay fine… I’m not going to tease you anymore” Yuri patted Tiffany’s head once again before she lightly tucked Tiffany’s hair and made Tiffany forgot to be angry for a short time

“A..anyway… Are you going somewhere? I saw you bring your camera” Tiffany stabilize her voice a little as her cheeks turned lightly pink

“Oh…this?” Yuri picked up her camera bag

“I just want to walk around and take pictures. That’s all. Since the weather is nice and the sky is clear today” Yuri explained as she picked her Canon 7D up from the bag like a professional

“So..you’re a photographer? I didn’t know that before” Tiffany surprised

“Nope” Yuri shook her head and smirked

“What? Then what did you do for a living? You’re not a model and not a photographer” Tiffany tilted her head to the side a little

“Secret” Yuri leaned in so close to Tiffany’s ear and whispered before she lightly laughed

“This is unfair” Tiffany frowned

“You know my job but I don’t know yours. This is so unfair”

“And who told you to tell me first?” Yuri smiled triumphantly before she put the camera back in the bag

Tiffany opened in protest but could not find any words to say back to Yuri. She left with no choice but to turn another way. It was a low blow and she knew that Yuri knew it too. She carefully take a sip of her coffee, but Yuri’s eyes still look at her with such fondness and that just made her put down her glass with a loud pang.

“Still angry?”

“No” Tiffany replied but there was light hmph at the end

“If you’re angry then tell me”

“So what?”

“So I can make you less angry?”

“So you could tease me more” Tiffany glanced at Yuri through her lashes and lightly smiled to herself

“If teasing make you angrier then I won’t”

“Really?”

“Really” Yuri lightly laughed but tried very hard not to. She feared that Tiffany might get even angrier

“Laughing again. Funny much?” Tiffany looked back at Yuri

“Not funny, but I find it cute” Yuri grinned and made Tiffany could not help but smiled back too

“I’m just curious. Are you just good at smooth talking to me or everyone?” Tiffany’s voice was light but her eyes tell a different story. She demanded truth and that made Yuri froze for a moment

“No…not to everyone” Yuri’s voice shaken a bit. She lightly clear and turned to sip her coffee instead

“Hmm..You’re quite cute yourself” Tiffany began to imitated Yuri’s action and smiled mischievously

“Are you imitating me?” Yuri smirked

“Nope”

“Okay. Nope then” Yuri shook her head a bit before she takes another long drink of her coffee

“I think I should head out for the photos now before it gets too late” Yuri gets up and pulled the camera bag with her

“Now?” Tiffany looked disappointed

“Want to go with me?” Yuri smiled

“Sure. I know a few spots. I can be your guide” Tiffany replied with pride

“Then please take a good care of me”

“Definitely”

With the last word, the two walked out of the café. Tiffany smiled radiantly and made Yuri who was walking beside her smiled too, but did not restrain from taking her camera out and took a candid shot. Tiffany begins to lead Yuri around the town with a thought that Yuri might not have been to Milan before, so all the spots she took Yuri were all Tourist Attractions. When she could not come up with any interesting places, she brought Yuri to the Cathedral of Milan or Duomo di Milano and the square that surrounded it, but it was then that Yuri started to lead Tiffany around. Yuri began walking through alleys and small streets that Tiffany had been for her magazine shoots. Some of the spots were not that interesting but Tiffany did notice of the photos that Yuri took. Some of them were sigh posts or fences. Tiffany just could not comprehend or understand why Yuri would take these photos. Deep in her thoughts, Tiffany did not notice a motorcycle that was coming her way and in that moment Yuri took the liberty and pulled Tiffany close…perhaps too close as their faces were a few centimeters apart from each other.

“Are you okay?” Yuri’s voice was full with concern

“Y..Yeah.. I’m okay” Tiffany smiled wryly as Yuri let go of her and let out a long sigh

“That’s good then. People around here aren’t that careful when they drive” Yuri commented and looked around cautiously before she smiled at Tiffany

Yuri’s comment made Tiffany surprise, the more they travelled around the town, the more she get curious of who Yuri actually is. The next place they went made her even more surprised. It was an old building near the Cathedral of Milan and Yuri had contacted the owner before. She conversed with the owner in fluent Italian and made a signal to Tiffany that they can go up now. They climbed up the ladders in silence and as long as it went on Tiffany could not feel more like a fool.  She got fooled by Yuri and a fool she is, for thinking that she knew Yuri when in fact she knew nothing at all except she knew Yuri accidentally at the café and nothing else. It was just less than an hour of talking. She begins to doubt that perhaps…she trusted Yuri way too fast.

“Be careful” Yuri’s voice rang and stops Tiffany from thinking. The cold wind lightly brushes against her skin

“It’s a rooftop, so be careful. The owner said it might be slippery from dews in the morning” Yuri reached out for Tiffany’s hand

The moment that Tiffany walked out to the rooftop, her eyes were indulged in such beauty. The view on the rooftop was second to none. She could see the Cathedral of Milan stood on its ground magnificently and she was almost at the same level as the top of the Cathedral itself and made the trip up the ladders even more fulfilling.

“Wow..” Tiffany lightly murmured

“Beautiful, isn’t it?” Yuri whispered

“Very. How did you find this place” Tiffany said as she impressed by Yuri

“It’s not that hard, but the hard part was to convince the owner to allowed me up here” Yuri explained as she took out her camera

“I see. You’re not a tourist too” Tiffany said bitterly as she crossed her arms

“I’m not” Yuri took a picture

“And what are you?”

“I told you before. It’s a secret” Yuri smirked

“And why does it need to be a secret? We’re friends, aren’t we?” Tiffany’s voice grew serious and almost as if she is on a verge to tears

“Of course, we are but how is it related to my job?” Yuri asked back with seriousness

“I don’t know. I just felt…I just felt that I’m the only one who told you things when you didn’t tell me anything. I don’t know anything about you. What is your job? Where are you living? Or how many years have you been here? I don’t know a thing” Tiffany heaved out a long sigh

“Never mind. I might be a lunatic for trusting you way too fast and probably think too much” Tiffany said as she brushes her hand off in the air as if to make Yuri forget what she just said

“Then when we have time…you can go to my place. I can make you dinner. It can be today. If you don’t mind” Yuri smiled before she turned back to taking more pictures

“But you still won’t tell me your job” Tiffany commented

“It doesn’t matter what job I do” Yuri said as she lowered her camera

“The matter is who I am and what kind of person I am. That is what matter most, isn’t it?” Yuri turned to face Tiffany with a confident smile

The meaning behind Yuri’s words made Tiffany speechless. She knew what Yuri meant. True, Yuri’s job has nothing to do with all of this. The matter is what kind of person Yuri is and with that confident smile Tiffany could not help but felt like her whole world just stop spinning.  It is strange for a person to make such an impact on her. They did not know each other that long and yet…she felt the bond between them is so strong that it started to make her questioned herself of why would she want to know more about Yuri. Is it because they are friends or was there something more…

The train of thoughts stops as Tiffany’s cellphone suddenly rings. Yuri lowers her camera and looks at Tiffany, who frowned slightly as she picked up the phone. The work is killing her day off again. The book or the draft version of the actual magazine that assembled need to be edited and that would mean she is needed at the office. It literally meant that she would be stuck in the office until the editing and reassembling is done.  It made her frustrated. This is her day off and it should have stayed that way. She hang up from the phone and took a deep breath before she looked at the breathtaking view once more and faced Yuri, who looked utterly confused.

“Work?” Yuri asked knowingly

“Yeah… a slight glitch” Tiffany answered and looked at her watch

“Damn…I will stuck there till midnight for sure”

“Want me to go with you?” Yuri smiled

“It’s okay. Just take the photos..but still it was a fun day” Tiffany forced out a smile

“It’s okay if it’s not fun. I can tell you forced that smile” Yuri lightly laugh

“It’s not that I didn’t have fun… I just” Tiffany frowned

“I know. It’s . You have to go back to work I understand” Yuri said and patted Tiffany’s head lightly

“I’m not that blind” Yuri whispered

“Okay then…I will see you later”

“Sure. Call me when you get there. Okay? It’s a bit late” Yuri voiced out her concern

“Okay…and thank you” Tiffany lightly giggled and smiled to Yuri

Yuri lightly laughed in return and waved her hands as Tiffany carefully walked out of the rooftop. She walked to the edge and looked for Tiffany until she saw Tiffany walked out of the building to the subway station. She lightly sighed to herself then shifted her gaze to the view in front of her. Now that she is all alone. She could feels how lonely it is to standing at this place and it was only five minutes…five minutes without Tiffany’s presence. The air just felt colder and made her more even so secluded.

“What a pity…I thought I could make her some pasta” Yuri tried to humor herself before she went back to take more photos

Tiffany’s evening was just as much as she expected. It was hectic and filled with many meetings with different departments. They all worked against the clock and that never was a good time or even something Tiffany would enjoy. She is a hard worker but to be stressed under a certain deadline and hoping that everything would come out satisfying for the boss made her hundred times more stress than she already has. The only thing that made her feels grateful is that she did not wear high heels today. When things finally died down and left with just waiting for the printing department to be done. She slumped down on her desk and looked out of the window to the dark night sky.

“She must have gone home by now” Tiffany murmured to herself

“Too bad…I could have visited Yuri’s house” Tiffany closed her eyes tiredly

Then again her cellphone rang at an ungodly time. She opened her eyes with annoyance but once she saw the numbers that display on the screen, her eyes widened with excitement. It was Yuri and with just a phone call, it made her sat up straight with more energy than she has before. She cleared slightly and finally answered the phone.

“Hello?” Tiffany’s voice brightened

“Hello. Are you done with work?” Yuri’s light giggled could be hear at the end of the line

“Yeah. Almost…I just need to wait”

“And did you eat anything yet?

“Come to think of it…no”

“Ah…and do you have to be there all the time?”

“Yeah…kinda”

“And are you alone? Why don’t you call a delivery or something?”

“Order a delivery to eat alone…that’s a lot. It’s just me at the office and a few guys in the printing department. Everyone went home already” Tiffany said tiredly as she played with a pencil on her desk

“Okay. I get it now. Tell me where is your office then” Yuri lightly laugh as Tiffany’s voice sounded more like a child who needs a pat on her head

“Why?”

“Just tell me”

“I hope you’re not up to any pranks or teasing. I’m not in a playful mood. This is a warning” Tiffany said icily

“I know. I won’t tease someone who is tired and hungry”

Tiffany lightly laughed at Yuri’s remark and finally told the address that is in the central of the city then hung up although having no idea of what Yuri is up to. She turned to look at her watched and it is almost ten in the evening. The trains might be still running but her work will not be done until after the closing hours of subway. The thought of the book made her sigh and she could not help but lied down on her desk once again. She looked at her notebook and decided to pick it up. She slowly opened to the page, where she did not finish Yuri portrait.

“Ah…She is such a good looking person. She could have been a great model” Tiffany lightly laughed before she picked up the pencil that she played with earlier

The pencil in Tiffany’s hand slowly making a few of line on the paper as it continue to reveal the resemblance of Yuri’s face. Tiffany thought back to how Yuri looked in the morning with that gentle gaze. Yuri always treated her like a child and although she did not mind, it made her wonder of how old Yuri is. When come to this particular point, her pencil just stop near the corner of Yuri’s lips.

“Right… I never asked how old she is. I always thought we’re the same age since after a few meetings we dropped the honorifics” Tiffany looked at her sketch with a slight pout

“You always acted like you’re older than me…keep taking care of me. What if you’re younger than me…what would I do? What would you do? Miss Mystery Kwon” Tiffany lightly laughed and continue with her drawing

The more time she used on drawing out Yuri from her memory, it made Tiffany thought back of the time they spent together. Even without sharing entertaining conversation like the ones they shared in the café, it was still fun for her. The Yuri that walked through streets with relax composure and had not worries nor rushing through anything made her wanting to see more. When she slowly think of the time, when Yuri would turn around just to pointed out something for her to see or a little talk they had, especially when their eyes met it made her felt warm inside. Then it came to the point that she thought of how Yuri held her just to make sure that the motorcycle would not hit her suddenly made her blush.

“Ah…what am I thinking? Are you crazy? Tiffany” Tiffany touched both of her cheeks as if she tried to make it less hot

“Yuri is also a girl…why do I need to be this shy. I guess I’m too hungry that I lost my mind” Tiffany joked and lightly laughed but then she jumped as her cell phone rang.

“Hello?”

“Hey. Come down to the lobby. I’m not working here, so the security wouldn’t let me up”

“What? Are you at my office? I mean my office building?” Tiffany suddenly got up to her feet

“Yes. Why do you think I asked for the address”

“I didn’t think you would come. Wait for me then”

“Hurry then. Before the pizzas get cold”

“Pizza? Wait…you bought me pizza?” Tiffany walked out to the elevator hall

“Yeah. You told me that you didn’t eat anything yet. So I bought some”

“I’m tired to the point that I don’t have the appetite” Tiffany sighed

“So I’m here to eat it with you” Yuri said and made Tiffany smiled

“Okay fine. I got it. Just wait right there, I’m about to go down. The elevator just got here” Tiffany hung up the phone as she got into the elevator

“She’s cuter than I thought” Tiffany murmured to herself and pressed the L button

When Tiffany arrived at the lobby, she saw Yuri stood there waiting for her with pizza’s box, but not just one. Yuri carried more than one pizza box, but three and there was a bag filled with soft drinks as if Yuri is going to host a party. Tiffany walked over to the security and talked to him until he finally let Yuri in. It was too late for someone outside the office to make a visit and so, the security is tighter than usual. Even if Yuri told the security that she is from a delivery, no one would believe her anyway. That thought made Tiffany could not restrain from laughing.

“And why did you buy three pizzas? You think I’m a glutton?” Tiffany eyed Yuri

“I didn’t think you’re a glutton. I think you might want to share it with your co-workers. Want to eat all of this on your own? Aren’t you a bit too greedy?” Yuri smirked

“And do you mind helping?” Yuri lifted up the bag filled with soft drink as if to ask Tiffany to help her

“Nope. I didn’t ask you to buy all of this for me”

“Ah… you are like this because I said you’re greedy then?” Yuri sighed

“Nope” Tiffany lightly giggled before she helped Yuri with carrying the pizza

Yuri shook her and laughed as she saw Tiffany took a peek of a pizza in the box and lightly bit down her lip then pursed it slightly like a child that holding back from the temptation. Seemed like her idea of bringing pizzas to Tiffany was not a bad one. Once they arrived at the office, Yuri can see that the office is pretty much deserted with only a few lights on. The whole floor decorated in a modern manner. Its style is pretty much what you expect from a modern fashion magazine headquarter. Tiffany led Yuri to the pantry, where the staffs usually have their coffee and put down the pizza boxes that she has carried on a counter then turned to look at Yuri.

“Then I will go and get the guys from the printing department” Tiffany said as she walked out of the pantry

“Then that would mean I have to take care of the plates and glasses…” Yuri murmured as she looked around with no knowledge of where to begin first

After searching through countless of cabinets, Yuri managed to find a few plates and glasses. She does not even know how many people were in the printing department, but she assumed that what she found would be more than enough. She opened one of the pizza boxes and poured the soft drinks for her and Tiffany. As soon as she finished the pouring, Tiffany returned just in time.

“They will come and joined us later. They still reassembling the book and thought that I went there to make them work faster” Tiffany light giggled as she reached for a glass that Yuri just offered

“That’s good. Will it be long? I mean until you can go home”

“It will be a while. They still tried to make the order right. Even my boss said it’s fine, but there’s another recheck on Monday” Tiffany took a piece of pizza and gives it a bite

“If your boss is going to do another round of checking then why do you need to be here within today?” Yuri also took a piece and gives it a bite

“Well…He did see the manuscript and didn’t like it. If he didn’t like it then we need to fix it immediately otherwise the actual printing would be delay. It’s not that major, but these little details matter at least in term of our own magazine standard. Even If I don’t like working on my day off…in the end I still look up to my boss” Tiffany smiled as she picked up a tissue and wipe her lips

“Then that’s good” Yuri smiled

“Thanks”

“Hmm?” Yuri looked at Tiffany curiously

“For pizza” Tiffany quickly added

“Ah..It’s okay. I’m just worried” Yuri gave out a small smile

“Still…thank you” Tiffany said lightly as she smiled

After the pizzas were all shared to the guys at the printing department and pretty much wrapped up, Tiffany led Yuri to her desk and thankfully that she closed her notebook just in time before Yuri could see the drawings. However, Yuri could not holding back her laugher as she saw Tiffany’s desk that was all in pink from post-it to pen and pencils. After a good laugh, Yuri finally settled down and both of them started to have their usual and easygoing conversation once more. The time that used to flow so slowly for Tiffany passed by so fast when Yuri was with her and when they realized it was already one in the morning as the book finished.

Everyone went home right away. Some that were going the same way shared taxis, while most grouped up and walked to a different way that Tiffany’s apartment is, which would mean Tiffany had to walked home alone. Yuri then insisted to walk her home, but Tiffany still resist since it was quite late. However, Tiffany’s attempt failed when Yuri mentioned that there were not many options left. It is either let Yuri walked Tiffany home or Tiffany needed to take a taxi. In the end, with economic reason Tiffany chose to walk home with Yuri as her . The city of Milan was quiet at night and gave off a different charm from the busy and ecstatic in the day. The cool air made both of them walked closer to each other but not quite too close.

“If we’re in a movie…this would be very romantic” Yuri said lightly

“Why?” Tiffany asked

“Well, if it’s a movie then it would be a romantic one where two characters walked through a beautiful city together, but in reality whoever knew that there might be danger lurking in every corners and it’s just safer not to walk alone” Yuri explained

“Even if it’s not a movie…I still think it’s romantic” Tiffany took a long stride and stop in front of Yuri

“Really?”

“Yeah. Just the fact that one of the characters has the care to walk with another as a friend…it’s quite romantic enough for me” Tiffany turned herself around and eye-smiled at Yuri

Yuri froze almost instantly as she was so mesmerized by Tiffany’s eye-smile and when she regained her senses, she just simply nodded in agreement. They slowly begin to walked again side by side and Yuri thought hesitantly about taking Tiffany’s hand, but ended up did not take an action on it. The two kept on walking side by side as jokes were made and laughter could be heard until they reached Tiffany’s apartment. It was a time to say goodbye, but neither of them wanted to even though they know they will meet again. The more time they spent lingering, the more they do not want to say the word.

“I think it’s a goodnight then” Yuri broke the silent and slowly walked backwards

“Umm..” Tiffany looked at Yuri hesitantly and the more Yuri got further away from her, the more she realized something and made a decision

“Wait. It’s…late. I don’t want you to walk home alone…it made me…uneasy” Tiffany lightly cleared before she walked over to Yuri and took Yuri’s hand

“Besides…you don’t have to go anywhere tomorrow, right? Since..it’s Sunday” Tiffany pulled Yuri towards her apartment

“Y..Yeah. I’m not going anywhere tomorrow, but are you sure I can stay over? I don’t want to bother you…and my house is really…not that far” Yuri said but was interrupted by Tiffany’s forefinger that lightly placed on her lips

“Even if it’s far, you will tell me that it’s near. Don’t try” Tiffany smiled

“Okay…but if it’s really near…you can’t say I lied” Yuri laughed

“Then I will know when you bring me to your house” Tiffany winked

Yuri smiled before she followed Tiffany up to the room. Tiffany’s apartment was not too big, but not too small for an assistant to editor in chief. Yuri took off her jacket and looked around. The well-organized living room decorated in a modern style with a little touch of pink from here and there. The pink is not so overwhelming and showcase Tiffany’s taste and skills in interior design.

“Make yourself at home then” Tiffany said as she walked to the kitchen

As Tiffany busied herself in the kitchen, Yuri took a chance to look around more thoroughly. She saw a bookshelf filled with books about Fashion, most of them are in English and some were in Italian. Yuri’s eyes stop at a familiar looking collection of books that was written in Korean and surprisingly all were written by the same author. She could not help but picked up a book from the collection that is nearest to her.

“She even has the first book and first printing edition at that” Yuri murmured

“Let’s have some tea” Tiffany said as she hold out a cup of warm tea

“Ah…that book” Tiffany looked at the book in Yuri’s hand

“The rain in Milan wrote by an author named Hope. Your favorite author? I saw you got a complete collection” Yuri asked as she put the book back

“Yeah.. I like the story…he or she wrote” Tiffany said as she sat down on the couch and put down her cup

“I see. I read it once. It’s depressing” Yuri said with a light laughter

“I don’t think so. If you compared Hope to the western authors or perhaps artists I would say..he or she was in a blue period. You know? Like what Picasso used to have” Tiffany explained

“Are you saying that this author can compared to Picasso? Isn’t that a bit too far fetched?” Yuri said with a hint of humor in her voice as she lifted up her cup and took a sip

“No. I think every artist deserved to be equal. There is no higher or lower. They all did for art and storytelling is also an art…very much the same to paintings. It’s just they are telling a story through different mediums. Fashion is also an art. It’s art that people could wear” Tiffany explained

“The rain in Milan.. You know it’s not about the beautiful Milan that people expected and still you like it?” Yuri’s voice turned more serious

“That’s the reason I like it. This author didn’t write about things that are beautiful but focused on something that different. In every sad bits of story there is…something quite beautiful about it. Am I making any sense?” Tiffany looked at Yuri with a thoughtful look

“It made sense for me. A beauty within sadness, huh..?” Yuri smiled as she nodded understandingly

“Interesting” Yuri murmured

“But there is something I don’t quite get it” Tiffany put down her cup

“I don’t understand why the author name him or herself as Hope when the stories he or she wrote doesn’t have a tiny bits of hope. Like ‘The Reflection of a Silver Moon’ I couldn’t even find a tiniest hope in it” Tiffany sighed

“Well, a person named him or herself as Hope doesn’t mean he or she wanted to be one…perhaps he or she was looking for the hope itself” Yuri sadly smiled and looked through Tiffany’s eyes as if she confessed something

“But then again in ‘The Reflection of a Silver Moon’, the author didn’t want the main character Seryu to fall for Youngwon. He doesn’t want Youngwon to care for him, love him or to make his feelings waver. Seryu was supposed to be a still surface of water that reflects the moon. He doesn’t want or need a rock like Youngwon to be throw into and made the surface waver or changed his form. You do know that this story was meant to be about one-sided love. Seryu was supposed to continue to love one-sidedly without wavering or stop loving the moon he reflected” Yuri explained as her eyes still did not leave Tiffany’s

“Even so, if Seryu didn’t meet Youngwon he wouldn’t know what being loved felt like. A rock like Youngwon was strong and heavy enough to get to the deepest part of Seryu’s heart. The unwavering feeling that is heavy like a rock made her able to show Seryu her love and made a person who didn’t want to waver finally gave in to her love. It’s about the feeling of love and being loved” Tiffany said straightforwardly as she also did not take her eyes off Yuri’s

“But why are you so serious about this and so sudden too? Are you also a fan?” Tiffany asked

“A fan? No” Yuri laughed

“But you said as if you’re a fan…like a real book fan” Tiffany said curiously

“Well…it’s not strange since my major is Literature” Yuri smiled confidently

“Literature… If you didn’t say so…I wouldn’t have known” Tiffany lightly nodded before she let out a yawn

“You must be tired. I guess it’s time for bed” Yuri lightly laughed and got up to her feet then offered Tiffany her hand

“I guess so. It’s been a long day too. We should continue this conversation tomorrow. I didn’t know you read the same books” Tiffany took Yuri’s hand and got up to her feet

“I will get you pillow and blanket” Tiffany smiled sleepily and disappeared to her bedroom

“I couldn’t help it…since the one who wrote those books…is me” Yuri grinned as she picked up the cups and head towards the kitchen

Chapter 3: It hurt reading through the part where Tiffany was giving Yuri the cold shoulder. I can understand why she needed the space but I sympathized with Yuri as well. Yuri was lucky that she was in the right place at the right time under the right conditions to help Tiffany out in the rain. Perhaps that's where fate is playing games with them. Speaking of fate, I am getting the vibes that Tiffany was Yuri's high school crush. The majors makes sense and now that you wrote that Tiffany had some feeling of familiarity when seeing the backside of Yuri. All that she would have seen in the hallway would be that view if they just passed by each other or if Yuri was the person that worked with her in the rain that day. Either way I find if funny that Tiffany is getting jealous over either her old self or someone that Yuri is so obviously not into right now. Tiffany was so obsessed with that past figure that she was blinded to the fact that Yuri really liked her. Yuri's philosophies on love and feelings were interesting. Those parts I'll have to reread when I have more time to fully appreciate her words. The confession was great. I wonder if Yuri planned this all along of if that was spur of the moment. Tiffany almost ruined it though being so dense. I can get Tiffany though. You get caught up in so much emotion or thought that you can't see things or hear things clearly. I'm just glad that her brain so that she could finally say what she'd been feeling internally for so long. I look forward to the next chapter to see them actually in a happier place.

Chapter 3: i'll make a smart guess,Tiffany is Yuri's first love, well from the way Yuri acts and speak. The emotions and all the talks and reasoning about love made me think for awhile and thought about it for a minute. I would be glad to love and loved like Yuri. This chapter is full of feels,i like how tiffany answeres Yuri's question. It's so sweet,we'll be waiting for the next update.!!
