First Date

Description

Today was the day you were going on a date with your long time crush, Jeon Jungkook. You’ve had a giant crush on Jungkook since you were little kids and last week was the day he finally asked you out.

You were in your room pacing back and forth contemplating on what you were going to wear on your date with Jungkook. “We’re only going to have coffee at a cafe and talk right?” you thought out loud, tapping your foot on the ground. “Something casual…” you said, turning around to face your closet. After just about an hour of trying on clothes, you settled on a pink sweatshirt, white shorts, white converse, and a small pink bow in your brown curly hair that you had tied up. You glanced at the mirror one more time, making sure you looked presentable before heading out to the cafe you were meeting Jungkook at.

As you arrived at the cafe you noticed a familiar figure standing right next to the entrance. He was wearing a black suit with a red rose in hand. As you got closer you realized the familiar figure was none other than Jeon Jungkook. Jungkook turned his head and to his surprise, you were dressed casually from head to toe. He widened his eyes in shock as you stopped in front of him . “Y/N… I…” He tried to say something but couldn’t make out any words due to being completely shocked at the fact he was overdressed for the date. “Yah. Jeon Jungkook what are you wearing.” you scowled. He looked like he was going to prom, with his up-do and little black bowtie. “I… Um..” was all Jungkook could manage to cough up. You laughed at how nervous and vulnerable he was. “It’s fine, come on.” you said reassuringly. You grabbed him by the wrist and dragged him inside the cafe.

Inside the cafe, you and Jungkook sat down at a table by a window. There were a few eyes staring at the both of you but, you didn’t mind it. Jungkook on the other hand, was losing it. He was fidgeting a lot and kept looking out the window or around the cafe. You picked up one of the menus that were placed at your table. Opening the menu, you looked over at Jungkook. “Aren’t you going to look at what they have?” you asked. Jungkook brought his eyes back to you. “Oh.. Uh… Yeah. Sorry.” he replied taking a menu. After looking through all the desserts and drinks a waitress came over to your table. “Are you ready to order?” she asked. You looked over at Jungkook, making sure he was ready before nodding. “I’ll have a slice of a strawberry shortcake and milk tea, thank you.” you said with a smile, handing your menu to the waitress. “I’ll just have a coffee.” Jungkook said, also handing his menu to the waitress.

After a few minutes of awkwardly sitting in silence, you decided that you were going to share at least one conversation with Jungkook on this date. Of course, to your misfortune, you couldn’t think of a single thing or topic to talk about that wouldn’t make this date completely awkward. You sat back in your seat, internally groaning. “This is not how I had pictured my first date.” you thought. Jungkook looked over at you confused. You covered up your dissatisfaction with a small smile. Soon enough, your drinks and dessert were delivered to your table. Almost immediately, you shoved a spoonful of cake in your mouth, pitying yourself. You looked over to Jungkook who was silently drinking his coffee, avoiding all eye contact with you. Oh, how much you wanted to slap this silly, hormonal boy.

“So.. How’s your cake..?” Jungkook asked quietly. You choked on the cake you had been ferociously consuming, due to Jungkook actually trying to converse with you. Jungkook got up from his seat in a rush, causing him to spill his coffee all over his suit. You chugged down your milk tea while Jungkook was failing to wipe off the coffee. Finishing the last drop of your tea, you looked at Jungkook who was miserably losing a fight to a coffee stain. He sat back down, loudly sighing. You thought of what had just happened and laughed to yourself. Jungkook looked over at you raising an eyebrow. “What’s so funny Y/N?” he asked.“Our date.” you replied smilling. “What’s so funny about it?” he asked in a serious tone. “Well first of all, you showed up wearing a suit. Second of all, we spent 70% of this date sitting in complete silence. And lastly, we just embarrassed ourselves in front of this entire cafe.” you replied, looking at all the eyes that were staring at you and Jungkook. “Oh…” he said laughing along. “Yeah, oh.” you said chuckling.

After leaving the cafe Jungkook offered to walk you home, which you gladly accepted. You and Jungkook stopped at the doorstep of your house. You were about to bid farewell to him but, he pulled out the rose he was holding earlier that was now all brown and gross from the coffee spill. “I know this hasn’t been the best date ever, if you can even call this a legitimate date but, I really like you Y/N.” Jungkook said looking down so you wouldn’t see his rosy cheeks. You put on the biggest smile you could and lightly pecked his cheek. “I like you too.” you said, taking the brown rose. Just as Jungkook was about to leave, you pulled him by the wrist. “Could we possibly… Go out on another date? One that goes well I mean.” you asked, blushing. Jungkook turned around and pulled you closer. He kissed you on the forehead. “Sure.” was all he said before running off, leaving you completely dumbfounded. You stood at your doorstep for a few seconds longer to recollect your emotions. “Aish, that kid..” you say finally unlocking your door.
