Sehun didn’t even suspect a thing when he saw the letter addressed to him one day at the entrance of his apartment. It was a scholarship offer, stating that the blond boy was given the privilege of attending the academy without any tuition fee—or any fee, really.

The only requirement written was that he must stay in the school’s dorm until he graduate high school entirely.

The seventeen-year-old boy didn’t put much thought in it until he graced the school with his presence the next day.

Sehun definitely didn’t expect this at all. He didn’t expect the lavish lifestyle he’s about to have, and he definitely didn’t expect the students to be half-animals. Hybrids.

            “It’s a human,” one of them murmured.

            “Why is there a human here?” Another one questioned in between hushed whispers.

Sehun’s gaze darted down from the pair of ears on their head and cold sweat started to form on his forehead when he saw their nails sharpening into claws; yet their eyes were still fixated on him.

Just like a predator eyeing its prey.

            “. He smells delicious. Do you think we can have a taste?” A tiger-guy frowned as he eyed Sehun from the top to the bottom.

            “Can’t we just eat him? I mean, come on. It’s not like this is the first time,” a girl pouted as she tugged at the tiger-guy sleeve.

Sehun’s eyes went wide. Taking a few steps backwards, he kicked off the ground and dashed to the opposite direction, even leaving his bag behind due to his intense fear.

He kept running and running, not knowing where exactly did his feet brought him to. Sehun noticed that he passed through a few buildings but he knew that he’s still inside the school area.

He let out a not-so-manly screech when a few men in black suits with cat ears suddenly showed up right in front of him, pretty much blocking his way.

            “Rabbit project?” Sehun blinked, repeating the old man’s words. His hands still feeling around his head, finding his ears to be gone and only to be replaced by two long fluffy ears on top of his head.

            “Mhm. We usually have one human playing the rabbit role for three years, but this year, it’s not even two weeks yet we’ve been taking in about five,” the Principal said with a frown. “You’re going to be the sixth for the meantime, and hopefully for the next three years.”

            “May I ask what happened with the other—uh… rabbits?”

            “The students here, except for the top students and most seniors, they’re still not used to the presence of humans. Long story short, they ate them,” the Principal shrugged, not noticing the way Sehun’s face paling by each second.

            “Which is why you’d better keep those ears and tail in their place. Those things serve as a protection since they practically cover your human scent. One wrong move and I won’t be able to guarantee one’s life, Mr. Oh.”

            “So you’re the new rabbit project, huh?”

Sehun snapped his head and his ears almost immediately flattened against his head.

‘Just what were they thinking, rooming a rabbit with a wolf?!’

The stranger stepped closer before crouching down in front of the trembling boy, eyeing the latter in amusement. Tipping his head to the side slightly, he took the other’s long ear into his hold and gave it a light tug.

            “Just so you know, my name is Kai. I’m your senior, and apparently you’ll be my new roommate, huh?” Kai’s lips quirked up into a smirk as he watched the other went pale when he brought the tip of the rabbit’s ear closer to his mouth.

            “I hope we can be good, good friends, so let’s stick close with each other, Sehunnie,” the older male said in a teasing tone.

It took Sehun almost every cell in his brain to keep himself from fainting when Kai bit onto the tip of his ear.
