Naeun's POV

I took a shower to freshen myself up hoping these thoughts would leave my mind. But, they wouldn't... I tried to do some homework later but I still wasn't able to. Why do I feel so bad..? Like I did something wrong.. I was sitting on my bed after preparing myself to sleep. But I wasn't tired. I turned the small lamp back on lidding half of the bedroom. Sigh.. What should I do..?

Flashback

I forced a smile on myself as I wiped the tears that fell down my cheek. "Don't worry about it. I'm okay." I answered. His expression was shocked for a second but turned a little frightening after I let those words out. "Really? You're okay? Cuz you don't look okay to me!" He said. He became serious to the point where a blank expression took over my face. His sudden frustration shocked me to which I didn't know what to do. "You're crying and saying you're okay?.. Does that even make sense right now?!" My eyes widened by the way he was talking to me that I couldn't look at his face. "I d-don't.. want to talk about it.. Please. I'm trying to forget.." I hesitantly replied.

Kai's POV

She doesn't want to talk about it..? Sigh.. She is really something. I'm really eager to know but there is no way of finding out. The bus reached its destination and she suddenly stood up. The hectic moment made me question whether it was a good idea to leave like this. As she was about to leave with her gaze lowered, I grabbed her wrist making her turn her face to me. "I'm sorry I came out harsh. You don't need to tell me if you don't want to. If you really want to forget then.. Try harder!" I said as I forced a genuine smile onto my face. "Okay?" I asked as I lightly laughed with a cheerful expression. After catching the blinking eyes from her.. An embarrassed smile formed on her face. "Fighting!" I said as I led her down the stairs. Upon reaching the bus station I turned to her seeing a better facial expression on her face. "I'll see you Friday.. Right?" I asked while wondering if she'd respond with a yes. Thankfully she nodded with a light smile.. "Fighting!" I said to her again as I took a few steps back before heading off to work...

End of flashback

Thinking back on all the times I've spend with him.. That moment was far the worst. Even after he tried to make me feel better.. I still felt really bad. I am ruining it aren't I?.. I can't speak freely with him or anybody really... Should I have told him? I kept thinking whether things would have turned out differently if I had been stronger...

"Kai..." I muttered under my breath. I suddenly grabbed the phone beside me while lying in bed.

[ Contacts >> Kai Oppa ]

Shall I message him?.. I should atleast apologise.. Right?

To Kai Oppa:
< I'm sorry about today.. >

Send.

Sigh.. Was that enough?.. Or should I have.. No Naeun! you did good. I apologised that's all that matters..

My Phone vibrated suddenly almost giving me a heart attack.

From Kai Oppa:
< You don't need to apologise.. It's okay. I don't know what's going on with you but, Like I said, just do your best.. Fighting! ;) >

How nice of him to reply like that..

To Kai Oppa:
< Thank you! I will :) >

Send. I noticed I was suddenly smiling really brightly.. Why?.. Am I feeling better? Before getting a chance to answer myself my phone vibrated again.

From Kai Oppa:
< Are you busy? >

To Kai Oppa:
< No. Are you? >

10 seconds after hitting send, I received a call:

>> Kai oppa calling<<

E-eh??.. He-he's calling! Omo, what do I do?.. Without thinking I whizzed through my wet hair with my hand to make it neat.. What am I doing? I mentally told myself and let go of my hair. I closed the door to my bedroom and laid back on my bed. After taking in a deep breath I finally accepted the call..

Me: "H-hello?.."

Kai: "You sure took your time.."

My heart pumped faster after hearing his voice.. It sounded so husky.

Me: "..Aah, I'm sorry.."

Kai: " (laughs), what are you doing?"

Me: "eh?..um, nothing really.. I just took a shower and you called.." (What am I saying??!)

Kai: "...Oh um, ehm! That's good.. So, are you tired?"

Me: "n-not really.."

Kai: "ah alright.."

Me: "...."

Kai: "...."

Me: "...."

Kai: "...HAHAAAHAAHAA!! (Bursts into laughter)"

Me: "..eh...?"

Kai: "Do you talk on the phone often?"

Me: "oh, um.. Not really"

Kai: "Yeah.. I can tell (laughs)"

Me: "...(laughs lightly)... Pabo.."

Kai: "..What did you call me? (Sarcastically)"

Me: "...Pabo! (Laughs)"

Kai: " (laughs) ..Naeun"

Me: "m?.."

Kai: "Sing me a lullaby so I can fall asleep.."

Me: "eh? A lullaby?.." So he can fall asleep?.. Does that mean..? Agh! Naeun, stop imagining things!

Kai: "Yeah. Can you sing?"

Me: "(laughs).. No"

Kai: "liar!"

Me: "(laughs) I'm not good at singing"

Kai: "Well.. I'll be the judge of that"

Me: "I don't want to!"

Kai: "Sing for me!"

Me: "~ Kai Pabo Pabo Kai~ (laughs)"

Kai: "That’s not singing, that's rapping. And.. I'm not a Pabo"

Me: "(laughs)"

Kai: "..You’re laughing a lot today.."

Me: " (laughs)..m!

Kai: "Am I that funny??"

Me: "yes! Hahaa"

Kai: "That’s strange. You seem to laugh more on the phone than in front of me"

Me: "ah..yeah.."

Kai: "are you hungry?

Me: "eh?.."

Kai: "eh? (Imitates Naeun) haha"

Me: A little.. I ate at 7"

Kai: "And now it's nearly 11.. Do you want to eat odeng (fish cake)?"

Me: "..Odeng??"

Kai: "Yeah. There's this tteokbokki and odeng truck near the bus station that closes late. If you want we could go?"

Was he really insisting on meeting, right now and.. this late?? 

Me: "right..now?"

Kai: "yeah! I can pick you up wherever and we'll go?"

What is this feeling..? I've never been out that late.. And with a guy? Deep down I want to go but.. am I scared?

Kai: "I see you are thinking hard about it. It's alright, we can go another time"

Me: "n-no! ..um, yes. I want to go"

Kai: "Really? Great!"

Kai's POV

Truthfully, I wasn't hungry at all. I just wanted to see her. Like a sudden feeling of making sure she is alright. I mean, after today's little moment I couldn't think straight. But I'm surprised she agreed to it. I hope she didn't take it the wrong way though.. She said to meet at the park instead of at her house. If I had told her how I would pick her up maybe I'd be able to find out where she lives.. Aish! That just sounds like the thoughts of a stalker!

Naeun's POV

Am I really meeting him now? I still can't get over it. I was excited and trying to figure out what this new feeling was.. I had changed into my jumper and loose jeans and wore my long coat and scarf. I made sure to grab my purse and headed to the park. As I arrived near the entrance I took a look at my phone. 11:15pm it said. That was the time we agreed to meet. I got a little worried as I was stood here all by myself and in the dark. After waiting for about 5 minutes.. A car suddenly pulled over to the side in front of me. It surprised me and I took a few steps back. My heart pumper faster and for a brief second I wondered if I should have stayed at home. But as the side window lowered I saw a familiar face..

"Did I scare you?" He said as a laugh escaped his mouth. "Kai..?" I asked in shock. "What are you waiting for? Jump in." He told me. I couldn't get over the fact that it was Kai.. I hesitated for a few seconds but after seeing his reassuring smile I got into the car. As I was putting the seatbelt on I looked to my right to find him looking at me with a side smile.. "W-why a car?" I asked suddenly. "Oh well, it's quite cold outside and I thought it would be quicker by car" he replied. "Oh..Thank you.." I said as I smiled. Ready? He asked. "Yes!" I replied and laughed. "Well then, let's go!" He said as he hit the engine.

Sitting in his car felt really nice.. The unfamiliar smell I took in and the change in scenery.. It felt exciting. Sat in the darkness with lights shading through the windows one after another.. It was really relaxing. A little shiver suddenly left my back.. I remembered that when I was young, I used to sit in the dark with a thick blanket covering me and just stare out the window as the rain hit the ground.. It would give a shivering feeling I loved.. No stress, no work, no nothing. Just me and my empty mind. I finally got to experience that again... And with a really nice person. He wore a coat on top of his hoodie while wearing a cap.. Why is he so handsome? I looked to see his side-view while he was steering the wheel. He suddenly turned to look at me causing me to widen my eyes and turn my face away from him. "Why?.. Do I have something on my face?" He cheerfully asked. "Ah.. Um n-no, your cap suits you" I replied. Now that I realise, that's the first time I have complimented him.. "Ah haha, thanks!" He said as he pulled over to our destination. "Alright Naeun, Just give me a few minutes. I'll get the odeng" he said as he exited the car leaving me here by myself. I genuinely thought we were supposed to eat there..

5 minutes after, Kai returned with a pack of hot odeng. As he got into the car and handed the odeng to me he started the engine. Where are we going now? I wondered. "The park is a nice place to eat" he said as we drove off. He surprises me sometimes. He would do things without letting me know.. But that hasn't bothered me at all. He knows what he's doing and I trust him so I wouldn't mind him making decisions for me. "Do you go to the park often?" I asked. "Not often but whenever I'm feeling a little stressed id go there.." He replied. Stressed?.. Is something bothering him?.. "Are you okay?" I asked. He turned to me and replied "Haha ye yeah It's just a little mood swing really." "Ah.. Alright" I said as I took in the smell of the odeng. "Eat it while it's still hot" he said. I took out 1 odeng and.. Without thinking, turned it towards his mouth to take a bite. He was surprised at first but later accepted it with a big bite. I laughed at him as I saw how much of the odeng he had already eaten. "You eat very well" I said and laughed to which he just smiled.

Before I knew it, we reached the park and started going for a walk while munching on the delicious odeng. It was dark but the lamp posts made sure we could see where we were heading. Not to mention.. It was cold. "Do you want to go on the swings?" he asked and pointed towards them. Without getting the chance to reply he ran and sat on the swing.. like a little child. I giggled at him as I headed towards the other swing. Whilst taking a seat I examined him as he swung on it...  Why was he so fascinating to watch? That was a completely different side to him. After his continuous swinging, he stopped and turned to me with a relaxed smile "Why?.. Not feeling it?" He said to which I blushed and turned my face away from him. "That.." I muttered as my heart fluttered at his expression. Before even realising my swing was suddenly being pushed from the back by him which left me with a confused face. "Don't worry Naeun-ah.. I'LL USE MORE STRENGTH!" He evilly shouted and continued to push even harder. I screamed and couldn't help but laugh at his behaviour. "Stop!" I screamed but he continued as he laughed evilly. "Please! That's enough!" I laughed. He understood and stopped the swing with all his strength. That was breath taking. I laughed again as he walked past me standing 3 meters away from me as I was sat on the swing. "Was that fun?" He asked. "Yes!" I replied with a big smile. My heart was so warm.. Although it was cold outside but inside.. I was so happy.. "Naeun-ah.. Take a look at the sky" he said as he was gazing up towards the sky. I turned my gaze up and saw the glittery stars.. It was really beautiful making my smile come out brighter. But still.. I couldn't help but think.. as I turned my gaze to his back view.. Out of all the stars.. The one in front of me was indeed the most beautiful...
