Letter 6 : I Don't Miss You Anymore

Taemin jumps off his car right after he parked his car in the hospital's parking lot. His eyes glance at his writ watch.

11.30am.

He is almost running to Minho's room when he bumped into a tall guy.

"I'm sorry!" he apologized, and only then he realized the guy he bumped into earlier is Jinki.

"Why are you running in the hospital, Taem?" Jinki asked, giving him a calm smile.

"I.. I woke up late.." Taemin panted a bit.

"What are you rushing for?" Jinki asked again, adjusting his specs, which is also his charms. The most adorable-looking doctor ever, he is.

"Minho hyung is waiting," Taemin said and he turns back for Minho's room when Jinki grabs his arm.

"He is unaware of what is happening, Taemin. Stop torturing yourself. Look at you. You should worry more of yourself," he said.

"Let go of my arm," Taemin replied, looking as cold as ever.

"Aren't you going to give up?" Jinki regret asking the question too, but he really wants to ask.

"Never. Now, if you please, I need to see him," Taemin said, throwing his glance away, waiting for Jinki to let go of his arm. Jinki's question hurts him, but he knows he will never leave Minho no matter what happened. But it seems like the elder guy is waiting for a better answer, so he didn’t let go of Taemin's arm.

"Aren't you going to give up on him, Lee Taemin?" the doctor asked again.

Jinki's stubbornness and the question he asked made Taemin angry. The history they both had doesn’t help too.

Taemin squeezed his arm from Jinki's grip harshly, and for the first time since the day Minho was submitted into the hospital, he looks into Jinki's eyes. He is tired of avoiding Jinki's glare.

As for the young doctor, he can feel that he made the younger guy angry with his question. He can feel Taemin's glare his eyes fiercely.

"Do you want to be in between Minho hyung and I for the second time?"

Jinki stay in silent. Taemin's question brings back the unpleasant memories they had shared.

"Don't even try, hyung. I warn you," Taemin said again, with the coldest tone before he walks off to Minho's room.

Jinki watch the younger guy walks away until he disappears into his every day's destination since last month. Minho's room.

The young doctor took a deep breath, trying to clear his messed-up mind.

"I'm sorry, Minho.." unconsciously, he muttered.

Taemin locked the door from inside. He turned back and saw his prince, sleeping calmly on his white bed.

"I know I'm late," he started a conversation with Minho. He tried to fake a smile as usual, but what had happened between him and Jinki just now totally ruined his mood.

"Give me a couple of minutes," he requested, realizing he failed to pretend to be happy in front of Minho. He took a seat besides the bed and buried his face in Minho's arm.

"I miss you.." he muttered, trying his best to keep his tears.

"I really miss you, hyung.." he said again, and this time his tears wet Minho's skin. He stays there for a few minutes, calming himself. God knows how he wishes Minho will hold him in his arms, ruffling his hair and tell him that he loves him. That's the best way to make him forget all the horrible things that had happened.

"Please tell me that you love me, hyung.."

He didn’t say it out loud. But he really wished for it.

Taemin knows that's not going to happen, and he forced a smile, trying to appear alright when he's obviously not.

His right hand reached for the box inside the drawer beside his chair. He opened the wooden box carefully, his long fingers reached for the sixth letter.

He wipes his wet cheeks out of tears just now, and opened the letter. He failed to control his emotion the moment he saw the first line and his tears betray him again.

I love you, Taemin.

Taemin is eating pancakes in his kitchen. Alone.

His parents are never at home. Even if they are, they never notice their pretty son. All they knew is shouting at each other, slamming doors and cursing.

He was about to took another bite of his pancake when his mobile phone rang. His heart leaps with joy when he saw Minho's name appears on the screen.

"Hyung!" he greeted Minho right after he picked up the call.

"Taemin, how are you?"

"I'm fine, hyung,"

"I'm sorry I didn’t get to call you yesterday. I am very busy with my works,"

"Ah.. it’s okay. I am always alone, it's okay if you didn’t call me once in a while," Taemin replied, pretended to be sad.

"Don't say that, Taem,"

"I'm eating pancakes alone, too,"

"Bring some to me tomorrow," Minho said, chuckling.

"Make your own pancakes," Taemin jokes.

"I want to eat the one you made,"

"Let's see if I have the time to make you some, okay?"

"Okay. Have you done packing?" Minho asked.

"Neh! I've been packing since last week,"

"That's early. Do you miss me that much?" Minho asked jokingly.

"I have no one at home. You don't know how much I want to leave this house," Taemin muttered, he threw his gaze to his big empty house. He will be leaving tomorrow morning for Seoul National University. It has been six months since the last time he met Minho. Even during the one-week mid semester break, Minho didn't get to return to Taemin since he really has to save money for his studies. Unlike Taemin, Minho's financial status is not as stable. His application for SNU scholarship was rejected last month because of a few mistakes he made in the form that he filled with such sleepy eyes. He already sent a new application and is hoping to hear good news from the university regarding his application since he scored an excellent pointer last semester.

"Hyung, it's the beginning of a new semester, how come you already have works?" Taemin suddenly asked.

"Well, I decided to be more active in this university, that will help if I were to apply for other scholarship later, so I applied to be a committee for the new intake's orientation,"

"You didn't tell me that earlier!"

"Now I did, right? I want to surprise you tomorrow actually, but since you asked.."

"It’s no longer a surprise. But it will be great to know I can meet you tomorrow, hyung!" Taemin is obviously happy.

"I can't want to meet you, Taemin,"

"Me too. I really miss you," Taemin pouts, though Minho is far from him and can't see his aegyo.

"Go to bed early tonight, okay? I don’t want you to sleep when we finally meet tomorrow,"

"Okay! I'm going now hang up now!"

"Nite, Taemin,"

"Nite, hyung!"

I asked you to go to bed early that night. But I myself stay awake. I can't sleep, thinking of what should I say to you when we meet again the next day. It has been 6 months, and we only contact each other by using phone only.

I am so scared if your feelings for me reduced even a bit.

"I never imagine it is this big," Taemin muttered to himself. He was done with the registration and is now looking for his hostel.

"Do you know where the Medical Faculty is?" a girl suddenly asked him.

"Ah, I'm sorry. This is my first day here, so.."

"Oh, okay!" the girl then flees to find another person she can ask for the direction. She is obviously a new student like him.

Taemin thought of calling Minho, but then he remembered Minho is a committee today, so his call might disturb his duty.

"I'll just call him later," he decided as he keeps his phone inside his pocket. It was then when he bumped into a guy. Since the guy is bigger than him, and he seems in rush too, so the one who fell is Taemin.

"I'm sorry!" Taemin quickly apologize eventho he is still on the ground.

"Can you please put your eyes on the front? Watch where you're going!" the guy replied him, and he looks so angry.

"I already apologize.." Taemin muttered to himself, but the guy heard him. He bent down a bit and picked Taemin up like a small puppy, helping him to stand on his feet again. Only then, he saw a green tag on Taemin's sweater.

"A freshman, huh? I'm your senior, and your life in this university will be hard if I don't like you," the guy said, and Taemin thought he sound so arrogant.

"Really? What are you, the dean?" Taemin asked jokingly. But the guy is really a hot blood type, and what Taemin said just now made him angry.

"Don't let me see your face again, got it?" he said as he gave Taemin a slight push on his chest before he left.

Taemin was about to chase after the rude guy to explain himself when suddenly someone tapped him on his shoulder. He turns back and found two very familiar guys standing in front of him.

Jonghyun and Key.

"Key hyung! Jonghyun hyung!" he almost shouted their names as he jumps and hug both of them.

"Omo, Taeminnie! You've grown up so fast even though I wasn't there to feed you!" Key said after they broke the hug.

"Neh, I eat well!" Taemin replied excitedly.

"Key-ah, stop talking as if you're his mother," Jonghyun said.

"What are you talking about, hyung? I AM his mother," Key replied, stressing on the word 'am'.

"But you left him last 6 months. Doesn’t that make you an irresponsible mother?" Jonghyun asked jokingly. Key took a few seconds to think what should he reply Jonghyun before he opened his mouth.

"Taemin already forgive me, right?" he said, hugging Taemin once again.

"Neh, I already forgive you!"

"Ok, fine. Now stop hugging him, I'm jealous over here," Jonghyun said, smiling.

"Shut up, hyung. You know I only love you," Key replied, patting Jonghyun's head, and cause Taemin to dropped his jaw.

"Are you two.. dating?" he asked, widening his eyes at the same time.

Both of them look at him for a couple of seconds before they realize Taemin know nothing about their relationship.

"Ah.. neh," Jonghyun said, trying to act normal.

Taemin dropped his jaw again.

"Aish Taem, pick your jaw, palli! What is wrong with us dating?" Key asked.

"Nothing. I just.. I just never thought you guys .. have those kind of feelings towards each other. I thought you two were only best friends," Taemin explained his jaw-drop-act.

"The whole school thought of the same, too. Since we were very popular back then, it will be difficult to explain to everybody if they asked about our relationship. We don't plan to keep it a secret too, so that's why we changed to this university, where no one know the previous us," Jonghyun explained.

"Oh, so that's why you two suddenly left! Aish, you two made me so worried.."

"Now you don’t have to worry anymore," Key said, ruffling his hair.

"Oh, did you guys know Minho hyung is studying here too?" Taemin quickly asked.

"Of course we know. We met him on his first week here," Jonghyun replied.

"Really..? But he never told me about you two.."

"Because we asked him to hide it from you, or it won't be a surprise today," Key said, smiling.

You must be happy to finally meet them again, right? I still remember how worried you were when they suddenly left.

"So this is my hostel!" Taemin said to himself.

"Are you a new student, too?" a boy around his age asked as he stepped onto the second level of his hostel.

"Neh. Do you know where is Room 208?" Taemin asked, smiling at the boy.

"Oh, just go straight," the boy replied.

Taemin left after thanking the boy. It was then when suddenly he was pushed to the other side quite harsh by someone.

"Hey!" he called for the guy who had pushed him just now. The guy turns back and Taemin quickly recognized him as the one who had bumped into earlier.

"It's you again," he muttered.

"Yes, it's me. Don't talk to me so disrespectfully," the guy said, more like warning him actually.

"I don’t see the reason why I should respect you," Taemin replied as he walked passed the guy, and he obviously pissed him off.

"I am your senior, and I am the head committee of the orientation programme," the guy said, walking passed Taemin.

"I see," Taemin replied, making his tone sounds unimpressed on purpose.

"You have so many guts to talk like that to me," the guy said again as he stopped walking and faced Taemin.

"Like I said earlier, I don’t see the reason why I should respect you. If only you show some respect towards others too, then I think we can be friends,"

"I am not used in making friends with commoners like you,"

"Ah, really? What are you, the dean?" Taemin repeated the question he asked earlier when they first met.

"No, but my father is," the guy replied with a smirk. Taemin wonders how someone can be this arrogant. He then decided to ignore the guy.

Taemin took out the room key when he finally reached room 208. It was then when the guy suddenly grabbed the key from him.

"Hey, give me back my key!" he snapped.

"You're assigned to this room?!" the guy asked, widening his small eyes.

"Yes, do you have any problem with that?"

"Of course, because this is my room! I've been living here alone for the past three years!"

"Now it's time for you to share this room of yours, then," Taemin replied.

"Never!" the guy said as he stepped into the room, locking the door from inside and yes, he took Taemin's key with him.

"Yah! What are you doing? Open the door!" Taemin shouted for him. He does not care the fact that the other boys from neighboring doors are staring at him.

A couple of minutes passed, Taemin is now tired of knocking and shouting. He then saw the name of the people who are living in the room, pasted on the door. There are two names. One is his own name. The other one is 'Lee Jinki'.

"Lee Jinki, you jerk!" he shouted as he kicked the door for the last time before he left.

Jinki was a jerk back then, I know. You must had hate him so much. But he changed, right? You know that fact the best.

He's a good guy.

"No one is good enough for me. Except for you, hyung," Taemin muttered as he turned to the next page.

It is almost 9 at night, and Taemin is sitting under a tree in front of his hostel. The bench is comfortable, the sight seeing is nice, and Taemin is alone. He stared into the black screen of his mobile phone. He really wanted to give Minho a call, but he forgot to recharge his phone last night.

"Damn that Jinki," he cursed under his breath.

"Taemin?"

He quickly turned to his right upon hearing that familiar voice, and he found the tall figure he had missed for the past six months.

"Hyung!" he dropped his bag and ran to Minho.

"Don’t hug me yet!" Minho warned, and Taemin saw he is actually holding a big cake.

"Let me put this down first," Minho said as he bent down a bit and place the cake on the bench. He was about to turn to Taemin back when he fell two arms s around his waist, and he can feel Taemin buried his face on his back.

"Taem.."

"I miss you so much, hyung.."

"I miss you more than you ever imagine," Minho said as he turned slowly to face his beloved.

"I forgot to make you pancakes.." Taemin, trying to joke.

"It's okay, I bake a cake for us," Minho said as he brings the younger boy into his embrace.

"Where did you get an oven to bake it?" Taemin asked, still burying his face in Minho's chest.

"I borrowed the Cooking room," Minho replied, kissing Taemin on his forehead.

"I wonder if its taste good," Taemin chuckled a bit.

"Why don’t we sit and try?" Minho suggested.

"Good idea," Taemin said as they broke the hug. It was then when Taemin saw a writing on the cake.

"I don't miss you anymore," he read before he turned to Minho.

"Why..?" he quickly asked. The fact that Minho doesn’t miss him, Taemin doesn’t like it at all..

"Must you really ask?" Minho asked him back. When he saw Taemin doesn’t have the answer for his question, he pulled the younger boy into another hug and kissed him on his lips. It took them both sometimes to let go of each other, and only then Minho answered Taemin's question.

"Because you're already here, pabo," he said, patting on Taemin's head.

The fact that Jinki annoyed Taemin so much bear no resemblance with his true feelings. The first time he saw Taemin when the boy bumped into him earlier, Jinki thought the boy is really pretty. But he has a big ego, he'll never say sorry or show his interest into anyone.

He thought nothing is wrong with annoying the pretty boy, too. He has the power, he is the top student, his father is the dean, people respect him, and there is nothing wrong with what he did just now. Girls tried to tackle him now and then, but Jinki thought they are not good enough for someone like him.

He is sure a very arrogant boy. But the fact he actually manage to fall in love, he is not that bad, right? He has many chances to change.

If he chose to.

Jinki glanced at his watch. It's almost 10pm. It has been three hours since he left the pretty boy outside.

"Maybe I should let him in," he muttered to himself as he tiptoed to his door. He opened the door carefully, and Taemin is nowhere to be seen.

"Where is he.." more like whispering to himself, he walked along the dorm, looking for the boy. After a couple of minutes, he decided the boy must have gone somewhere else to sleep but suddenly he saw two guys were sitting under a tree in front of the hostel. One of them is unmistakably Taemin, but he doesn’t recognize the tall one. They look so happy together, joking and laughing under the moon, earning much hatred from the perfect Jinki.

And finally, JINKI DEBUTED in this fic ^^. Is he annoying? Please remember this is just a fic, ne? Our leader Jinki is forever adorable, keke. This letter is two times longer than the previous one. Maybe because I am already done with my studies? I am on a job hunting now, sigh~
