August 14, the calendar said clearly. 

A young girl stirred in her bed, quietly she got up and straightened her posture while atop the light blue comforter. Traces of dried tears trailed from her somewhat frail grey eyes. Brushing her light brown bangs away from her face, she turned her gaze towards the calendar. She tensed somewhat before turning to the digital clock on her bedside. 

She let out a small sigh. 

From under her bed, a black cat made its way onto her lap. She it gently, a tint of sorrow reflected in her eyes as more tears threatened to fall out. 

"I failed this time as well.."
