Jealousy and desiresHayoung never noticed how observant how Namjoo was until the day of their goodbye stage for 'Luv', until the period of time where Namjoo kept nudging her, diverting her attention from the paper that showed the performace lineup, towards the unnie line who were seated in raisable chairs in front of mirrors, getting their makeup done. Hair stylists and makeup artists were buzzing around, holding lipsticks and foundation brushes as they looked at the three with scrunitizing stares.
The room was air conditioned but Apink could feel themselves sweating from anxiety and nervousness despite their many appearances on stage. Maybe it's because of their last stage of one of their different song concepts. They really adored 'Luv' but sadly the time to part ways with their fans have come to an end. Not to mention, they have an upcoming solo concert soon.
"Namjoo unnie, will you please stop with the relationship speculations?" Hayoung frowned, looking at nothing in particular.
"It's true. I mean I can sense it. Eunji is jealous of Chorong, Naeun likes Eunji and you, you're just touchy, especially towards Eunji," Namjoo smiled, a twinkle in her dark eyes.
"Hey, hey hey, what are you insinuating?" Hayoung narrowed her eyes.
"Nothing, just look," Namjoo laughed and placed her hands on the sides of Hayoung's head, turning it to face the unnie line's backs.
"Naeun unnie, a little help here?" Hayoung pleaded. But Naeun merely shrugged as her constume stylist walked over to adjust her outfit.
Grunting, Hayoung allowed herself to look at Eunji who was stealing glances at Bomi from her chair through the mirror as she was not permitted to turn her head due to the fear of runing the makeup that the stylist was applying onto her eyes. Bomi on the other hand, was doing nothing but gazing at herself in the mirror, apparently with a blank mind and an oblivious sense to Eunji's glances.
"Okay, okay you proved a point," Hayoung grinned.
"Told you."
"Bomi-ah," a child like voice spoke from the doorway after Hayoung heard it close shut. Sauntering towards Bomi, Chorong handed her a styrofoam cup of hot coffee, hoping it would heat her freezing body temperature. Namjoo wasn't sure if it was intentional or not, but when Bomi's slim fingers wrapped around Chorong's hand on the cup, Namjoo nearly jumped out of her seat on the black leather couch in excitement. She watched as Bomi smiled up at Chorong whose face flushed slightly at the contact. "Thank you, unnie."
"Hayoung ah! Did you, did you see...?" Namjoo asked, eagerly. Met with dead silence from Hayoung, Namjoo let the question go reluctantly.
What Namjoo didn't see was Eunji's beam directed at herself, masking her pain.
The stage went perfectly, even though there was nothing really special about their goodbye stage, Apink really enjoyed themselves. Knowing that there is going to be intensive training for the next month or so, to prepare for their solo concert, Apink wanted to cherish the time with their fans, showering them with hearts and winks before disappearing into their company's building for a while.
They were performing quite an amount of songs which meant excruciating practices for perfection. Repeated dancing and singing in their practice room was anything but fun. But at least they had each other for support. As excited as they were for their first concert, Apink felt fearful. What if they mess up? Or falter? Or do something incredibly stupid or embarrasing on the big stage? The stress and burden were all on Chorong, the leader. She had to manage her group, maintain her and Apink's image.
The night is still young in Seoul. Exhausted from the whole day of training, Chorong sat with her sore legs outstretched against a wall, dreading starting practice again. Her muscles ached, her head spinning and her vision was deteriorating.
Bomi scanned the room from the threshold after taking a long, refreshing drink from her bottle. Chorong, breathing heavily, looked up at Bomi who was equally as sweaty as she was. Metting Chorong's gaze, Bomi looked back out into the hallway, yelled "Break time is over soon! Members, 10 minutes!" then strode into the room, laughing at herself, presumably enjoying the power she had over the members being the second oldest.
Sitting beside Chorong, Bomi sighed audibly. Chorong immediately felt comforted when Bomi was around. She appreciated Bomi's wamrth that radiated from herand company whenever she felt lonely. "Thanks for calling them. I'm too tired to do it myself," Chorong breathed.
"You're welcome, unnie. You deserve some rest," Bomi turned her body so that she was facing Chorong instead of the cabinet. "How do you feel about the concert?"
"Nervous more than anything in the world...It just, I'm so afraid of messing up, of not being perfect for them."
"Me too. But fans love you for your dorkiness, so its really okay if you screw up accidentally. Apink can do it, You can do it! Hwaiting!" Bomi raised her clenched fist into the air, smiling. Chorong couldn't resist smiling back at Bomi's enthusiasm. There are so many reasons why Chorong admired Bomi and this is definitely one of them.
Bomi must have realised suddenly that Chorong was staring adoringly at her becasue Chorong abruptly wrapped her arms around Bomi's sweaty body, eveloping her in a warm hug. Bomi, for a moment was stunned, but she reacted by sliding her arms behind Chorong's feverish neck. Chorong shivered as she felt Bomi's hot breath against her cheek, resisting the temptation to kiss her.
As if Bomi read Chorong's mind, she leaned in, lips slightly parted and eyes closed. Chorong, though surprised at Bomi's initiation, began to raise her head up. This was like the night when she first kissed Chorong, Bomi thought, except that this time, Chorong is responding.
At that precise moment, Eunji bounced in, full of energy and life. Chorong and Bomi jerked away from each other so quickly, their backs collided with the wall, eliciting a curious stare from Eunji. A smile played on Eunji's lips as she spoke the words of apprehension, "I know."
Hey guys. I'm so sorry I haven't updated in a while. School is catching up and I'm scared less by O's at the end of the year. Once again, I apologize for the short chapter. Please pardon the grammar or spelling mistakes. I normally can't stand them but...:)
