" are you dead yet? "

His legs were sprawled across the couch, elbow propped against the arm rest as he read a book. A pair of lensless glasses rested on the bridge of his nose as he read a past acquaintance's book, 'Romeo and Juliet'. He remembered Shakespeare with his odd clothes, and their awkward conversations with their language barrier. Not that it stopped them from becoming what they were.

He felt, rather than heard, a presence enter the room, bringing about a cool breeze as he stepped through the shadows, onto the floorboards of Xette's dorm. A fluffy white ear atop Yuhwan's head twitched slightly, and the gumiho let out a soft sigh.

"Are you dead yet?" the intruder spoke, and Yuhwan finally tore his gaze from the eloquent printed words on paper.

He eyed Hanbin for a few moments, watching as the guy strode nonchalantly to where he was, and plopped onto his legs. Yuhwan hissed, kicking Hanbin off and sitting upright. "As you can see, I'm very much alive and well."

"That's a pity," Hanbin sighed, "I really want my souls back, y'know?"

Yuhwan rolled his eyes. "You've only said that a countless number of times for three centuries, yes I do know. I can't just return them when they're all nice and digested," he replied, silently adding, "kinda."

Hanbin scrunched up his nose. "I didn't really need to know that."

"It's not disgusting, you persistent stalker."

"Speak for yourself, for stealing all those souls I was assigned to."

"At least I didn't just up and take some healthy life. Be glad. Your superiors should be glad. What grim reaper is always late to their souls anyway."

"I'm a very busy reaper, mind you."

"Busy enough to be an idol. Real busy, Hanbin."

"I'm assigned to you for tomorrow."

Yuhwan's mouth had been open for a retort. As soon as his mind processed the information, however, he shut it, setting the book aside. He crossed his legs as he stared Hanbin down, eyes narrowed and ears flat in suspicion.

"Why're you looking at me like that?"

Yuhwan sighed, running a hand through his hair, freshly cut for his debut. He had blonde streaks now. It was weird. And new. "Why're you telling me this then?"

Hanbin's lips turned up, only the slightest bit. He shrugged. "Don't go home tomorrow. To your family."

Yuhwan scowled. "Don't you ever get in trouble for telling me this?"

The reaper shrugged once more, before he eyed his watch. "Gotta go to practice. Be good."

Yuhwan purred, leaning into Hanbin's touch as he scratched the base of his fox ears. The moment he realised with horror what he was doing, it was too late to warn Hanbin how dangerous he could get; the iKON leader had already left.

". I listen to nobody," he grumbled, feeling slightly intimidated by the sudden silence.

The gumiho leaned back into the artificial leather, resuming his earlier position, before Hanbin had come. Though the words entered his mind, they all left right after, as he thought about Hanbin's words. Yuhwan groaned, dropping the book onto the floor as he pulled out his phone to text his sister.

Yuhwan closed his eyes for a moment, before he heard familiar voices ringing in the hallway outside. His eyes fluttered open, listening to the beeping of the door as it unlocked, before the calls of 'we're home' echoed inside.

"Mmm, welcome back."
