I've always believed that Ji Hoo deserved to get the girl, but well... Joon Pyo won some points. So, if Jan Di chose the man of her life and Ga Eul caught to her soulmate, can't the rest of the F4 get their own happy ending?

This is just a translation of a fic I have previously published in Fanfiction.net in spanish. As I am not a native speaker, I hope you can help me and remark my mistakes or errors if they bother you.

Prelude.

Engagement Party.

Finally she had said yes. Joon Pyo had come back to Korea and proposed to Jan Di for the second time. Everybody sighed in relief and joy when she accepted to become his bride. It seemed the perfect happily-ever-after they deserved after all they had gone through since their story started.

The was only one person who couldn't be happy. He couldn't, even if he tried..
The woman who was marrying his friend was also his soulmate.

"Sunbae..."

Ji Hoo looked up to Jan Di, meeting her warm, lovely eyes.

She didn't know what to say. She wasn't able to feel completely happy, as any other woman in her shoes would be. She didn't allow herself to be that happy because of Ji Hoo. She knew she was hurting him, her personal firefighter, her first love, the kindest man in the world.

"I'm  sorry"

He didn't reply, but there was no need. There was nothing to forgive, because she would be happy, and that was all what mattered. He had kept his word, taking good care of her those years.

"Will you be coming tomorrow?" She asked, changing the topic when she understood he wouldn't share his feelings this time.

"Of course" he said, faking a smile the best he could "It's my best friend's party and yours, I cannot miss it"

She smiled, coming back to her cheerful mood. Nevertheless, she couldn’t even realize how deep was the pain that Ji Hoo was experiencing. It was the same kind of pain Jan Di had when Joon Pyo forgot her.

Or even worse. Ji Hoo watched as the fiancées danced in the middle of the hall, just as the rest of the guests there. He had been told to take good care of her, because someday she would give him a family. And so what? He was about to lose her forever and he couldn’t do anything to stop it from happening. In what kind of friend would he become if he did?

“Come on, Ji Hoo. Change that face” Woo Bin said, standing by his side. He also looked at the couple while holding a glass of wine in his hand.”You’re doing the right thing. You’ll get over this, not all men are brave enough to face what you’re facing now”

“Brave…” He didn’t think so. He might be the most coward there.

“Yes, brave. Joon Pyo is our friend, and Jan Di has changed him” Woo Bin smiled “Well, she changed all of us, actually. But he is the one who need her the most”

Ji Hoo smiled. He agreed. Thanks to Jan Di he had recovered to his grandpa.

“Moreover, thanks to her we met Ga Eul. “Woo Bin added, pointing to the other corner of the saloon, where Jan i’s young friend was smiling “She is good for Yi Jeong. Seems like the F4 Casanova has fallen.”

“The Casanova, the rebeld, the weird and the playboy” he remembered.

Ga Eul couldn’t feel happier: her best friend was going to marry the man she loved, and Yi Jeon had come back… to her?

Her feelings towards him hadn’t changed. They had grown stronger and more intense through time and distance. Then, he came back and gave her all his attention, making her heart beat faster with every smile.

However, she was afraid. He could give that smile to any girl too easily. He was an excellent actor when it came to fake his feelings. And until now, she had believed all the scenes he had created for her. She had taken it before, but she wasn’t sure she could do it anymore. After all the heartbreaks she had because of him, she wasn’t sure she could hold onto him.

How could she know that Yi Jeong silence was because of the fear, too?

Definitely, he felt something for Ga Eul, but he was afraid to recognize it. He had ever tried to be serious about love before.

“Can I have this dance?” he asked, and she smiled sweetly taking the hand he was offering her.

“Of course, sunbae” and for this, she gained many envious looks from the single girls around them.

“Seems like I don’t have a lot to do since I came back to Korea. I’m still on vacations. Would you join me tomorrow?”

“J-join you?” she repeated, hating herself for stuttering. “What do you mean? Where do you want me to go with you”

“Everywhere”

Ga Eul was about to say yes when she remembered something.

“I’m sorry, I can’t”

Yi Jeong frowned.

“You can’t? What? Why?” he asked “If it’s because of work, I can solve it”

“There’s no need, tomorrow is Saturday and I don’t work”

“So?”

“I’ve promised Kim Hoo I would go to the mall with him”

‘Him’ It was a he.

“Who is he?”

“It’s another teacher in my school; he is very nice. I’m helping him to prepare the party for his cousin who is coming from Japan this week”

So he was very nice. Why hadn’t Woo Bi told him anything about this? He glared at his friend, but he was very busy with certain lady.

“Oh, it’s ok. We may hang out any other day”

When he finished saying these words, he wanted to kick himself. Why in the hell had he said those words? Ga Eul and he should be spending more time together, and he wouldn’t let any other man to steal her from him. He would not lose to a plain teacher.

“Is he young?” he suddenly asked.

“What?”

“Is young that friend of yours?”

“I think he is your same age, sunbae. Why do you ask?”

“Juts out of curiosity, nothing important”

Jan Di was tired, but she kept smiling and playing her new role in that event. She was so happy for the reason of the celebration that it wasn’t so hard to be surrounded by  rich, snob people. For the first time, she even felt she could be part of that. Even her parents were collaborating and not being disrespectful.

She walked away from the rest of the guests and went to the balcony. She saw someone wandering alone in the garden and, narrowing her eyes, she recognized Ji Hoo.

Woo Bin also saw him, and went out the hall to look for him.
 

Jan Di was about to call his name, but then something in the sky called for her attention. A shooting star.

She wasn’t the only one who saw it, but also other two people noticed it.

Some think that shooting starts make your dreams come true, if you just ask for them with all your heart. What if she tried?

Jan Di looked down to Ji Hoo ad Woo Bin, who for some reason was standing at the entrance of the mansion.

I wish they find true happiness.

I wish Joon Pyo and Jan Di live always in love. And that Yi Jeong stops being stupid.

I wish Ji Hoo to forget that love that hurts him and to start being happy.

People usually ask for other’s happiness in their wishes? Is that the only thing we need for dreams become true?

I will try to update at last every couple of weeks. Now I may even give you some more chapters because is Christmas' time and I have a somehow relax-week. id you like it? Please comment!
