Things have been different, very different, after Red Velvet made their debut. It was different for Irene and Seulgi, especially. No, it was not the fact that they had their debut which caused the drastic change, but it was the change they had to make in order for them to debut. Seulgi was no longer the real "happy virus", and Irene, Irene who seemed okay on the outside, had been suffering silently deep down inside.
