This is a fluff drabble for my RP friends..

Internet and Cafes

Taemin whined for the nth time that night, rolling over on the bed and grabbing the remote. Kibum ignored him once more, continuing to type on his computer. He had a report due for his Science class in three days and he hadn't even finished half of it.

“Seriously, Key.” Taemin spoke, trying to get the older boy's attention.

Key said nothing, just let his fingers tap quickly on the keys.

“Keeyyyy...” Taemin whined once more.

“What, Taemin?” Key finally spun around in his seat, givin the younger boy an annoyed look.

Taemin didn't seem deterred in the least bit. “We need to find you a boyfriend.”

Key sighed. “I don't need a boyfriend, Taemin. I need to finish this report.”

“No.” Taemin responded, leaping off the bed. He went over to the computer and sat in Key's lap, grabbing the mouse from him.

“Taemin!” Key highed.

“Shut up, Key. I'm going to find you a boyfriend.” Taemin shot a glare at his friend, making himself comfortable in Key's lap while he took over the computer. He saved Key's document and brought up the internet, quickly typing in the address of one of those dating sites.

“No, Taemin.” Key tried to grab the mouse, but Taemin slapped at his hand, laughing.

“Key.” Taemin turned to his friend. “You haven't had a boyfriend since you were fourteen...you're a freshman in college now! I'm tired of being the only one in a relationship. I want to go on a double date!”

Key sighed. “Fine, whatever. What even makes you think I'm going to find someone on a stupid site like that, anyway?”

“That's where I found Minho Hyung.” Taemin grinned, typing in some log in information.

“How long is this going to take?” He asked, leaning back and letting Taemin work.

“Not long. Just need to set up some information.” Taemin didn't look away from the screen, typing furiously.

After a few minutes, Key finally got curious and looked over at the screen. “Taemin...none of that is true..I'm not a doctor..and I don't even like sports..”

Taemin sighed. “Well it's not like anyone will find you interesting if I tell the truth.”

“Hey!” Key whined. “I'm interesting..”

Taemin sighed and rolled his eyes. “Alright fine. We'll fix it.” He deleted all the information he's started writing and began to type something else.

“For job, put student.” Key started.

“Why can't we leave it at doctor? I mean, you are in medical school..”

“Because I'm not a doctor.” Key rubbed his temples. “I'm studying to be a vet.”

“Fine, we'll put that.” Taemin whined.

“And put fashion and coffee and animals as likes.” He responded.

Taemin whined. “You are so boring...”

Key rolled his eyes. “Just upload a picture.”

“Which one?”

Key groaned, leaning around Taemin and looking through the many pictures on his computer. They spent the next thirty minutes trying to find just the right picture to put on the profile. Both of them were finally satified when they picked a nice one from the party after finding out that Key would be going to his first choice college.

It was one of him with one of his dogs, sitting in his lap, a nice scarf and a white coat, his hair brushed forward and swished to the side. He liked that particular one.

“Now what?” Key asked Taemin.

Taemin shrugged, getting up from Key's lap. “We just wait for someone to send you a message.”

It took thirty minutes, Key typing away on his report and Taemin going back to watching the drama and texting his own boyfriend. The ding of the message alert startled him.

Taemin jumped up off the bed and ran over, leaning over him to check the screen.

“Holy crap...this guy is hot.” Taemin muttered, mostly to himself as he scrolled through the profile. “He goes to the same school as you, Hyung...but he's a lawyer! ...and he likes coffee and puppies.”

“He goes to my school?” Key asked, completely ignoring the fact that Taemin had cursed. He leaned forward and looked at the screen, gasping. “What? I know this guy. He's a senior.”

Taemin rose an eyebrow and looked at Key. “Really?”

Key nodded. “We have a class together. Elective.”

“You think he knows it's you?” Taemin asked.

Key shrugged. “Um...why don't we just see what he says?”

Taemin nodded and they opened up the message. Taemin read it. “He wants to meet you at the campus cafe tomorrow at noon.” Taemin typed something on the computer and grinned. “I just sent the message. You're definitely going to meet him.”

“What?!” Key jumped up from the desk. “Taemin..I can't do that!”

“Why not?” Taemin pouted.

Key sighed. “I can't talk to him..”

“Do you hate him?”

Key shook his head. “No..just..just whenever he's around I freak out..”

A small silence passed between the two of them. Key blushed, realizing he'd said too much. Taemin's lips turned up into a knowing smile.

“You like him, don't you?”

“No...” Key didn't sound convincing at all. He looked away and sighed. “Okay maybe I do...just a little.”

Taemin grinned. “Well, he likes you too, obviously!”

“He doesn't even know who I am.” Key scruntched up his face, pushing away from the desk again. “He probably thinks I'm just some kid from school.”

Taemin shrugged. “Either way, you're going to meet him tomorrow at noon.”

“No, I'm not.”

“You're not going to stand him up.” Taemin stood with his hands on his hips.

Key sighed, not saying anything.

“I will skip school and drag you to the cafe.” Taemin responded. “Or do I need to call Minho to come take you?”

“Fine, fine, I'll go.” Key threw his hands up, sighing as a lump fell into the pit of his stomach.

The very next day, Key found himself sat in a booth at the campus cafe. The sun shined nicely and the entire place smelled of coffee and fresh baked cookies.

He picked out one of his best outfits for the day. A pair of black skinny jeans, a long grey shirt with a swoop collar and short sleeves. He had his black peacoat leaning over the edge of his seat. His hair brushed forward, the bangs spiked up out of his eyes. A bit of eyeliner. Taemin had ensured him seventeen times before he left their shared apartment that he looked wonderful. He wasn't quite sure, though, if he believed it.

He looked out the window, taking in the nice blue sky. A few of the other people in the cafe stared at him. He could feel their stares on the back of his head. Even the waitress who had come over to his table several times to ask if he needed anything was surpringingly swept up with him. This was a thing that happened often when he did not wear his baggy coat and glasses.

Key found it easier to focus on schoolwork when he wasn't getting distracted by girls confessing their love – and the occasional boy – or even some of the other, more annoying things that came with people finding him attractive. School was for learning. Looking good was for the weekend.

He was brought out of his thoughts by the sound of the bell at the door. He looked up, seeing the man he had been waiting for. Key couldn't help but to give a small smile.

Jinki, his upperclassman. A man everyone knew was rich, studying to be a lawyer. Tall, lean, long light brown hair with a radiant smile. He wore a suit, black, coat down to his knees with a red satin trim. Key wouldn't deny that he looked nice, though he was used to Jinki coming to school wearing a suit.

The man scanned the cafe, his lips pulling up around his teeth when is eyes found Key. He walked over and sat down across the table from him, still grinning.

“Hello there.” Jinki's voice sounded like liquid satin, soft and airy with just the tiniest hint of a quiver.

Key smiled. “Hi.” He didn't trust his voice yet to say much more than that.

“Have you ordered yet?” Jinki asked, to which Key simply shook his head and looked up for the waitress.

She walked over, a young girl, rather pretty, with a long ponytail and a short skirt. Her hands shook as she handed Jinki a menu.

“C..can I get either of you anything?” She asked, biting her lower lip.

Jinki shot his award-winning smile at her and ordered, without even looking at the menu he'd been handed. Key watched him quietly, then opened up his own menu and glanced over it.

“Coffee and a chocolate chip cookie.” He said, handing the shaken girl his menu as well.

When she walked off, Jinki chuckled softly. “The poor girl. She freaks out whenever she sees a pretty boy.”

Key raised an eyebrow, tilting his head to the side. Jinki shrugged, leaning back comfortably in his chair.

“So...why me?” Key found himself asking suddenly, after the waitress had come back with their orders. Jinki had gotten a salad and a hot tea.

He looked up at Key with a soft smile. “Why not?”

Key shrugged. “Everyone knows who you are. You're the most popular guy in the school.”

“And you're the least.”

“I wouldn't say least.” Key pouted, poking his bottom lip out as he drew his coffee mug up to his lips. This make Jinki laugh.

“Well, if you dressed like this more often, then you probably wouldn't be as unnoticed as you are.”

Key shrugged, a small smile playing on his lips now. “What if I don't want to be noticed?”

Jinki laughed again the sound like bells. “Well then, you're not doing such a great job at it. I noticed you.”

Key paused, a blush painting his cheeks. “You...know...”

“Know that we've been in the same class all year?” Jinki interrupted, sipping at his tea. “Yes, I do. Why else would I have asked to meet you immediately?”

Key shrugged. “I don't know...cause you liked my picture?”

“I'm not that shallow.” Jinki laughed, though the sound was suddenly harsh. He looked at Key, and for the first time, Key thought that he could see some insecurity behind the man's eyes. “Would you like to know why I wanted to meet with you?”

Key nodded, not saying anything, but eyes wide and curious.

Jinki sighed, a soft smile on his face. He sipped his tea and looked out the window. “My friends made fun of you, the first day of class.” Jinki's eyes cut at Key, to find him frown. Jinki just continued to speak. “Honestly, I probably wouldn't have even noticed you if they hadn't made fun of that big coat you always wear. I told them to leave you alone, just so you know.” He paused and added. “I can't stand people who make fun of others.”

“So?” Key asked softly, “What then?”

Jinki shrugged. “I just...kept noticing you.”

Key lifted an eyebrow, curious.

Jinki cleared his throat, glancing quickly at Key and then away once more. “I saw you once, not in school. It was a Saturday. You were at the park. There was a box of abanonded kittens and you sat and played with them. When it started raining, you gathered up the box and you took the kittens home with you, right?”

Key nodded, remembering that day. “I didn't know you were there.”

“I wasn't supposed to be. My car stalled out on my way home and I decided to take a walk while it was being fixed.” Jinki shrugged. “But I saw you being so caring to those kittens...it's refreshing...but I did want to ask.”

“Ask what?” Key questioned, making Jinki laugh.

“Why do you dress like a bum at school...but every time I see you outside of the classroom, you take my breath away?”

Key's eyes widened at the response, blush deepening. Jinki leaned across the table with a smile on his face.

“Do you like me?” He asked, staring into Key's eyes.

Key had no response for the man. He gulped, taking a bite of his cookie. Jinki sat, patiently, waiting. Key his lips.

“Who doesn't like you?” He huffed, a bit of a frown on his face.

“Jealous?” Jinki teased.

Key shot him a glare. “I'm willing to give it a chance.”

The light in Jinki's eyes doubled ten-fold, and Key was sure he'd never seen the sun shine brighter than the man's smile in that moment. He couldn't help but to find himself smiling as well.

“You still never answered the original quiestion.” Jinki responded, hours later after they finally stood up from the seat. Finshing their food, laughing and talking, and even skipping their class to spend more time together.

Key looked confused, “What?”

“Why do you hide yourself in class?”

Key chuckled, scratching the back of his head. “It's easier to focus on studying when people don't pay attention to me.”

Jinki laughed. “Well, you're going to have to get used to it anyway, because I'm going to start paying a lot of attention to you.”

Key grinned, looking up at the beautiful man. “I think I might just like that.”
