He wasn't exceptionally tall for an eighteen-year-old guy. However, he was definitely not short. His hair was rather neatly cut but honestly, that didn't really matter since he has this special for beanies and snapbacks. But then again, you wouldn't want to know how hot this guy would look on stage be it with his snapbacks and beanies or not. His eyes were that capable of sending shivers down your spine as you listened to that set of flawless rap, seemingly compelling you to never look away. He isn't someone who is good with expressing his feelings, he can be blunt, he may be hurtful in some way or another, but you know he is probably a child at heart as well. His raps never fail to tell you how badly he wanted something and his determination was honestly admirable. Those lip biting and tongue displays were capable of throwing you off your seats because he was that seductive, unintentionally. He was Kim Hanbin, YG's new treasure.

The other guy who is always seen with him was rather short, definitely can't be labeled tall. If you think that short was unattractive for a guy, then you've lived your life in vain not being able to appreciate how this little precious thing was like. That puffy yet soft hair merely added a whole new layer of adorableness to this already perfect guy. His swift, smooth and perfect dance moves can totally sweep you off your feet, dying to know how the cutest looking guy can be the iest person ever. Confusing much, I agree, but that is totally why perfection was never easy to achieve. That pair of eyes that formed the most perfect lines you've ever seen whenever he smiles was enough to drive one crazy. That voice that anyone would die for to listen to every night obviously belongs to him. And back to the topic of him being tiny, you probably can't think of anyone who wouldn't want to cuddle with him. Probably the sweetest and most warmhearted guy, he was a treasure; to you, to me and to that someone. This guy is none other than Kim Jinhwan.

They both had the same dream, and that is to stand on the stage together one day as IKON. They were never alike. Hanbin was a straightforward and childlike guy while Jinhwan was this mature baby that anyone will turn to whenever they're feeling vexed. Hanbin was that efficient leader whereas Jinhwan tends to stay less decisive. Hanbin was the younger guy that loves teasing the older whereas Jinhwan was the older that's always teased by the others, by Hanbin. Hanbin was never that emotional guy and hides his emotions better than anyone else, but Jinhwan was always that crybaby whom you'll just want to protect with all your might. Hanbin was possessive but Jinhwan was used to being possessed by anyone. They were so different, yet they complement so perfectly.

Jinhwan always thought that Hanbin was nice and sweet to him because they're the closest, together with Bobby before the rest came. The Golden Trio was almost inseparable. But to Jinhwan, it was too stressful to be labeled as part of the Golden Trio. Jinhwan was too different from the rappers. Bobby and Hanbin were of almost different style as Jinhwan. They write beautiful music and they're always in the limelight, whether now or then. Inferiority you may say, but truth to be told, Jinhwan was never that confident guy to begin with. And perhaps that’s why, someone secretly vowed to himself that Jinhwan hyung should be protected at all cost.

“Hanbin ah, how’s the song going?” Bobby asked as he secretly stole Hanbin’s green pringles, only earning a huge smack on his back.

“Don’t ever try.”

“Fine fine, so how’s it going?”

“Fine I guess? But I’m stuck a little at this verse so I have to work on it later,” Hanbin replied, slipping another chip into his mouth, carefully. Just when Bobby was about to open his mouth and begged for the chips, someone appeared.

“Annyeong!” the small-sized guy simply greeted everyone with the sweetest smile on earth once again, before taking a seat next to Hanbin.

“Yah, why are you so late?” The leader asked, before draping his strong arms over the smaller figure as though it was the most basic daily routine, instinctively. Cutely, Jinhwan smiled.

“There’s this speed limit at which my scooter can travel at,” he replied adorably, totally giving the leader the you-know-I-am-funny kind of eye smile before giving his attention to the computer. Hanbin smiled, but he was probably trying his hardest to hide those crazily weird smiles because he can never comprehend how the oldest was the cutest. Bobby, the ever-hyper kid was just busy laughing, as he playfully ruffled Jinhwan’s hair from a distance. But with that action, you thought you saw some dark clouds above Hanbin’s head.

“Hyunggggg, why are you so cute?” Bobby whined cutely, totally oblivious to the random thunderstorm somewhere in the room. Jinhwan merely shrugged as though it was a given fact, but yes it definitely is. While Hanbin was hard at work and Bobby was busy playing on his phone, the oldest quietly slipped his small hands across Hanbin’s waist; clearly making its way to the green Pringles that Bobby got smacked for eating. But right after Jinhwan placed it in his mouth, you can hear Bobby’s soft murmurings, which were meant to be audible.

“And someone is showing too much favouritism once again,” clearly emphasizing on the word favouritism.

“What?” the oldest asked as he placed another chip in his mouth, still keeping that ever-cheerful smile on his face.

“Nothing, I so did not get smack for eating those chips just now too,” Bobby smiled sarcastically, followed by the cutest smirk because Jinhwan obviously did not get any hint but he could totally feel the fire burning in Hanbin’s mind, waiting to kill him.

Like usual, the trio was used to spending time like this together, cramming in the small room but it felt cozy and right, even if they’re all engaging in different activities. After all, it’s the company that matters.

“How about bringing this line to the verse?” Jinhwan suggested when he saw the vexed leader getting irritated because he just can’t seem to get it right.

“No, that’ll change the idea I’m conveying here,” Hanbin replied shortly, a little colder than before, probably because he was so not feeling happy about the troubles right now.

“Try this line?” Bobby suggested, finally realizing that the leader was waiting for some help after putting his phone aside. Hanbin nodded as he thought Bobby’s suggestion might work.

Perhaps his inferiority complex was acting up again, but the feeling of being useless and of no help strikes him once again. Jinhwan never liked that feeling. You could have said that he was used to it, but I don’t think anyone will ever like it. He felt like the Golden Trio never really needed him. His suggestions never seemed to help, his ideas were usually different from the other two, his nature was already different and he thought he felt a pang in his heart when Hanbin coldly rejected his idea. Not knowing how and why, but Jinhwan thought that somehow, his heart was frozen. He watched the double B worked hard on the song and he felt like his presence was once again rendered insignificant in this small room. They’ve never needed him was his thought and quietly. The small figure decided to leave the room. He gently placed the bottle of pringles that he was hugging, because Hanbin had asked him to, on the chair. He softly turned the knob and closed the door gently behind him before heaving a deep sigh.

“Useless, like always…” he murmured before dragging his heavy footsteps somewhere else where he can get some breather.

It was burning slowly, like a new love set on fire.

Jinhwan’s random wandering led his petite body to the garden at the root of YG. Well, it was really his favourite place because no one really comes here and barely anybody is aware of his favourite hideout. He didn’t know why he was feeling that way too. Was it simply because he felt useless or was it because Bobby was the one who helped Hanbin? Was it simply because Hanbin hinted that Jinhwan didn’t understand him or was it because it felt like Hanbin and Bobby were the soul mates instead? Was it simple because Hanbin didn’t realized that he was gone or was it because Hanbin was too busy with Bobby? His thoughts were clearly running wild and for that split second, Jinhwan realized how absurd and how wrong those thoughts were; like a jealous little kid you may say?

“Jinhwan hyung! What are you doing here?” A deep voice was heard but Jinhwan knew that wasn’t Hanbin. After the long years of friendship, the older could obviously recognize Hanbin’s voice, somehow, somewhat and for some reason, it was his favourite familiarity.

“Junhoe ah, how did you know I was here?” I saw you on the way, looking listless and so I thought I should follow you in case you needed some comfort maybe?” the youngest replied and Jinhwan smiled.

I just wished he came after me and not-

The oldest slapped those thoughts away once again, feeling ridiculous about his sudden emotions.

“Spit it out Hyung, the Jun-bin is here!” Junhoe acted silly, trying his best to earn the oldest’s smile. If you questioned the sanity of Jun-Diva here, then you can put your mind at ease because anybody would do things out of the norm for Jinhwan; because he is Jinhwan, a Jinhwan that belongs to no particular someone and so they tend to have this special desire to protect the tiny one at all cost.

“I feel useless…” Jinhwan whispered, half wanting Junhoe and hear and half not wanting that to happen. He was confused too because for a moment, he thought he felt what he usually saw on dramas, jealousy.

“No, you’re not,” the younger one replied, gently pulling the oldest into his arms before he continue with his sentence, “You are probably one of the most important person, whether is it in work, in the team and even in my-”

“Kim Jinhwan.” The loud voice interrupted Junhoe as the oldest who was in the youngest embrace lifted his head, only to see a cold Hanbin standing by the door. Probably a jealous Hanbin in other’s perspective though.

Yes you are right. Hanbin was watching by the door all along but before he could approach the oldest, Junhoe was a step ahead.

Flashback:

Hanbin was carefully filling in the lyrics with Bobby when he thought he heard a soft hit on the chair, where his bottle of pringles landed. He eyed around and from the peripheral vision, he clearly saw the oldest sneaking out of the room but somehow, the back view told Hanbin that something was wrong with Jinhwan. Leaving everything behind instinctively, Hanbin just wanted to chase after the petite guy.

“Yah Hanbin ah, your song -” Bobby was so close to finishing his sentence but the leader just sped off leaving a brief reply.

“That can wait.”

Bobby gave his ever-famous victory smirk as he wonders when will the two silly man even realized their feelings for each other.

“And so I wonder how long you’re going to wait before you confessed to Jinhwan Hyung…” Bobby laughed silently as he help the leader finish up with the remaining lyrics, knowing that Hanbin won’t be back in anytime soon unless Jinhwan is fine, with like double or even triple check.

Yet on the other hand, just right when he was about to follow Jinhwan and asked him what was wrong, he saw Junhoe. The youngest conversation with Jinhwan was seemingly put on the recorder and every action or word Junhoe spit seemed like an annoyance to Hanbin, no hate intended, clearly just jealousy but that silly boy did not realize. The moment Jinhwan was pulled into Junhoe’s arms made Hanbin felt like thousands of ants were crawling all over him and he felt so damn uncomfortable there was a dire need to remove those arms off his Jinhwan. Totally annoyed, angry, upset, fearful, and jealous, Hanbin felt like he was going to die anytime if Junhoe’s hands remained on the eldest. Hearing the last sentence that Junhoe was saying, Hanbin felt like he was that close to losing something so precious he didn’t even understand why. Gut feelings were clearly warning him that a confession that he would want to hear the least was about to surface and with that, he shouted the eldest name.

It was strong, powerful, intimidating, but most important, filled with jealousy. Protective or possessive? Hanbin didn’t think much.

End of Flashback.

Jinhwan knew something was wrong whenever Hanbin addressed him by the full name. However, before he could even ask the leader what was he doing here, Hanbin strongly shook Junhoe’s hands off the eldest. Grabbing any hand tightly, Hanbin stormed off the garden, dragging one guy behind him.

“Yah Kim Jinhwan, how could you let Junhoe hug you? What happened to our promise? You said you’ll only let me cuddle with you and you just broke it like that?” Hanbin continued ranting, still strongly dragging that man behind him.

“So what is wrong with me hugging Jinhwan Hyung?” the man finally spoke up and Hanbin’s footsteps came to the fastest brake ever it can cause an accident if it weren’t for Junhoe’s good reflexes. Stunned, completely stunned, Hanbin stared at Junhoe for the next few seconds, wondering how did he appeared behind him and how on earth did Junhoe’s hand ended up in his grip.

“Yah Goo Junhoe, why are you following me?” Hanbin questioned doubtfully, clearly realizing that he was the one who had made the huge blunder. Secretly cursing himself like nobody’s business in the end, he was clearly embarrassed at how he just spilled out his little secret about not having the liking for Jinhwan being in other’s embrace.

“I would very much love to know how on earth did I ended up getting dragged here by you too.”

“Stop, pretend that you heard nothing just now.”

Hanbin ran off as quickly as he could, leaving the Jun-diva bewildered. The leader was clearly dying from embarrassment and it obviously got worse when he heard Junhoe from afar.

“Hyung! Crushing on Jinhwan hyung is so not a secret anymore in the team please. So not cool please?”

“Yah Yunhyeong hyung! Can you please shut J
