Scene: You have a crush on him but are too chicken to even say hi to him. You see him pass by the store your family owns. He's walked in with his friends a couple of times but it's as if he never acknowledges you. He's never even gone to your register or when he does see your register is the only one open he sends one of his other friends to pay for him. You feel like maybe it's because he senses you like him or maybe because he's shy? Regardless you've never even exchanged a smile. Until today. 

"(Your name) Can you go out and pass out fliers? We finally got that slush machine and since it's almost summer we're giving out free small slushies any flavor. But remember ONE per customer." Father said. 

"Yes sir." I sighed and grabbed the papers off the counter. 

I hate standing out there, people always ignore me. I walked out the door and stood where I usually did. I put a smile on and began doing my thing.

"Dude there she is. Now's your chance" Tao said.

"Yeah man, she's passing out fliers. It's perfect, you can strike up conversation." Suho added.

"I don't know..." I said. 

"Chen just go say hi. It's not like you're gonna ask her to marry you or anything. Casually talk to her and then go from there" Kai said.

"Easy for you guys to say....you ALL have girlfriends!" I instigated. 

"It all starts with 'Hey, I'm ____. What's your name?' 6 simple words. Quit being chicken, you've had a crush on her for 5 months now. So it up and go talk to her!" Kai said. 

"But what if she doesn't talk to me?" I said. 

"We'll walk with you Chen. Come on the light's green" Tao smiled. 

I nodded and walked across the street. I was already on the other side when I realized I had been walking alone this WHOLE time! I looked back and there they were waving at me. I turned back to where she stood. Everyone seemed to be interested in what she was giving them. How could they not be interested? She's so cute and beautiful, her smile is so angelic and breath taking. I sighed. My phone rang. 

'Hello?' 

'What the hell are you doing?! Go talk to her already! Quit standing there like an idiot and go!'

'I can't do it! She's so cute! I can't do it!' 

'Well heads up, she's coming towards you' 

I looked up and she was walking towards me! I hung up and looked at her.

I saw him standing there alone. Was he waiting to get a coupon? His friends were signaling him to go but he just stood there. Gosh he looked so good this afternoon, he must've gone to play soccer with his friends. They were in sweats and hoodies, he was so perfect. His hair,his eyes,those lips....I could go on forever. As the people dispersed I built up the courage to walk up to him and hand him a couple of fliers myself and tell him about the slushy special. As I got closer I saw that he was on his phone. He turned to me and his eyes widened. 

I slightly smiled. "Good afternoon sir. Umm...I...here. Free slushies tomorrow" 

I handed him the flier and coupon. 

He looked at me and smiled. "Hi, I'm Chen. What's your name?" He asked. 

I felt my heart melt. He's talking to me! 

"Hi Chen" I smiled. "I'm (your name), I work here." 

What the hell am I saying? He knows I work here! I'm sure of it! 

"Yeah, I know. Heh. So uhh...." He scratched his head. "Free slushies? What's that about?" 

"Oh, well my parents bought a slush machine so they're giving away free ones." I said. 

"What time?" He asked. 

"12-7" I said. 

"(Your name)! Quit talking to boys and come stock up the shelves!" 

Thanks dad. Thanks ALOT! I took a deep breath. He chuckled.

"I should go." I said and began to walk away. 

"Wait." He grabbed my hand. 

I felt my heart stop. "Yes?" I turned around. 

"S-Sorry. I didn't mean to grab your hand...I umm...I was just wondering...if I..." 

I smiled. Omg this is it! He's going to ask me out! I've been waiting so long for this moment! 

"If I...could..." He sighed. "Can I have 3 more of those to give to my friends?" 

My smile faded. "Oh sure. Here." I handed him 3 more and went back inside the store.

I blew it big time. That was my chance & I blew it! 

"So how'd it go stud? Did she say yes?" Suho asked. 

"Yeah dude details. What'd she say?" Kai said. 

"She said free slushies tomorrow from 12-7." I said. 

"Aish! Chen that was your chance!" Tao said. 

"I got nervous okay? She was smiling and looking at me! I got nervous and I completely asked her something else." I said. 

"We're coming back tomorrow & if you don't ask her out I'll put you on the spot light and tell her you like her" Kai said. 

"We'll expose your feelings for her" Suho added. 

"She probably thinks I'm an idiot now! I could tell she was waiting for me to ask her out, I could see it in her eyes!" I said.

"That's a good thing, it means she digs you." Tao smiled. 

"Tomorrow for sure I'll ask her out." I said determined. 

"Now you're talking!" Kai smiled.

"Take the day off (your name). I can handle the slushy machine, go on." 

"But dad...." I wanted to see him today. 

"Go. You haven't been anywhere in a while, go enjoy yourself." He smiled. "Also while you're at it, buy groceries for the house" 

"Okay. I'll go get ready." I said. 

I didn't have a choice. Father was insisting on me taking the day off, I guess he thinks Chen had asked me out or something. He doesn't usually do this. I got ready and left. I wandered around for a bit wondering what I should do. 

"Hey (your name)" 

I turned around. "Oh hey Suho" I smiled. 

"What're you doing?" He asked. 

"To be honest I don't know. I'm pretty much just wandering around, my dad gave me the day off today so I'm just killing time I guess." I said. "What about you?" 

"I'm heading to the basketball court. You wanna come?" He asked with a smile. 

"I don't wanna impose on guy time" I said. 

"Nonsense. Amber and the other girls are there, it'll be fun. You guys can catch up and hangout you know?" He smiled. 

"You sure it's okay?" I asked.

"Yes okay? Come on." He held my arm. 

We arrived at the basketball court. 

"(Your name)! Omg! It's been forever since we've hung out! How've you been?" 

Amber came up and hugged me. 

"It's been way too long. I've been good and you?" I asked.

"Great. I work at 'Gyoa' as a waitress but I was off today so Suho went to pick me up and now here I am. The other girls just left, it got too hot for them so it's just us" she smiled. 

"Sounds good" I smiled. 

We sat on the benches and talked.

"Well well, look who's here." Kai smiled.

"What's with the look? You should be thanking me" Suho smiled. 

"She knows Amber?" Tao asked. 

"Yeah, they're really good friends." Suho said.

"Why didn't you tell me she was Amber's friend?!! What if Amber tells her?!" I said in a panic. 

"Relax. Amber can keep a secret okay?" Suho assured.

"So did you know that Chen has a major crush on you?" Amber said.

"What? On ME? No, you're mistaking." I shook my head. 

"He's just really shy. He says you make him nervous, Suho tells me he's been trying to talk to you for the past 5 months but when he did he got nervous and asked you for more coupons" she giggled. 

"Yeah he did. But I don't think he likes me, I mean 5 months and nothing? He probably just...I don't know." I shrugged.

"He likes you, trust me" she assured.

"Amber says she likes you Chen. But she's shy, she's been waiting for you to make the move but obviously YOU haven't been giving her any hints or anything" 

"How does amber know?" I asked. 

"They text all the time!" Suho said. 

"How do you know? You're probably making this up." I said. 

"Chen, she's my girlfriend. She tells me everything!"

"(your name), Suho tells me everything. He's my boyfriend. We tell each other all sorts of stuff" she said. 

"Amber! What if he tells Chen I like him?!" I said in a panic.

"He won't. I trust him, he wouldn't do that" she assured.

I nodded. "Well okay, If you say so." 

The boys came onto the court and began playing their game. I tried not to stare but my eyes were locked on Chen the whole time. They were playing skins & shirts....he was skin. I just couldn't stop looking at him, Amber nudged me every now and then when he'd look my way. We met eyes twice but when we did he would end up tripping or he'd miss the shot. 

"Why haven't you told him you like him (your name)?" Amber asked. 

"I don't know. When I started liking him he had a girlfriend already & he never talks to me so it's hard to believe you say he 'likes' me." I said. 

"Well did you know he broke with her because he saw you then it was like love at first sight" she smiled.

"But her never talks to me" I repeated. 

"He's shy girl, that's why. You're freakin gorgeous how could he not get nervous when you're around?" She said.

"Pfft, I don't know about gorgeous but okay." 

We kept watching them play and soon it was game point. I looked at the time. 

"I'd better go, I forgot to have to buy groceries." I said. 

"Go with Chen." She elbowed me playfully. 

"As if. He wouldn't go with me, he's 'shy'." I smiled.

"Hey Chen!" 

My eyes widened. "What're you doing Amber?!" 

"I'm going to tell him to go with you. He lives like two streets down from you so it's perfect, he can't say no." She smiled.

"But...." 

"Aish. He's not listening to me. Suho! Babe come here for a second." She called out. 

Suho immediately stopped what he was doing and came over to us.

"Yeah?" He asked. 

"(Your name) can you give us a moment?" Amber smiled.

I nodded. "Sure thing" 

I got up and walked to where the court was. I leaned against the pole under the basket.

"Tell Chen to take (your name) home. She's going grocery shopping and all that's on the way to their house anyway." Amber said. 

"Mmm, I don't know. I mean he's nervous as it is. I don't know if he'll go but I'll tell him" he said.

"Aww come on babe. Chen needs to man up and tell her he's head over heels for her. She's not gonna wait forever" Amber said. 

"I know...well I'll talk to him & see if he'll go with her. After all it's getting late she can't be alone anyway." He said.

"Dude seriously? Don't leave. She's right there, ALONE. Go talk to her" Tao said.

"For real man. Grow a pair and just ask her out already, you gonna wait another 5 months or what?" Kai teased. 

"Lay off will ya? I'll talk to her when I'm ready to talk to her!" I said.

"Well, here she comes." Luhan smiled. 

My eyes widened as she approached us. 

"Hey guys." She smiled. 

"Sup? How's it going (your name)?" Kai smiled. 

"Not much. Good game out there" she said. 

"Thanks" Tao replied. "You managed to escape the love birds huh?" 

"I guess so. She had to tell him something so she asked if I would give them a moment" she said. 

"A very long moment from the looks of it" Kai giggled. 

We all turned and saw them kissing and hugging and kissing some more.

"So any plans?" I asked. 

She looked at me. "Me?" 

"No...I was talking to Luhan...." 

Kai,Tao and Luhan looked at me with wide eyes. 

"Oh..." She looked around. 

It was really quiet. So awkward. 

"I'd better get going, I have to...yeah. It was nice seeing you guys again." She smiled. 

"You're going alone?" Kai asked.

"But it's getting late" Tao added. 

"Who's going to walk with you?" Luhan asked. 

She shrugged. "No one. I'm sure Amber and Suho are leaving together and well you guys arrived in a group so. Nobody." 

"I'd take you home beautiful but Luhan and I are going to check out a few things in town then go eat." Kai said. 

"I have to go practice my martial arts, if not I would walk with you." Tao said.

The 3 of them looked at me and smiled cynically. "What about you Chen? Didn't you say you were heading home?" They said in unison. 

I gulped. "Me? No. I never said I was going home. I have that thing to do." I said. 

"Thing? What thing?" Kai asked.

"A thing okay?" I said through my teeth. 

She took a deep breath. "You know something Chen? If you don't want to walk with me why don't you just say it? I'm so tired of you just making excuses for everything. I like you. I really do but it's obvious that you don't like me. I'm done with these games,Why do you avoid me? Why don't you talk to me? I've always asked myself those questions every time I see you. You see my register open but you send Kai or Tao to pay for you. When I talk to you, you look away or you just end up cutting me off. Maybe it's me, I'm not what you're looking for or you just....I don't know. I'll walk home alone but thank you all for your concern, I'll be fine." She walked away after that. 

"Nice going Chen." 

"We were trying to help you out dude." Tao said.

"What's up with you guys?" Suho asked. 

"She just stormed off with tears in her eyes. What'd you guys say to her?!" Amber yelled.

"Well Chen here blew it! So she just...went off. She told him off and left." Luhan explained. 

"Chen come on man! Grow a pair and-.....Chen?" Suho said.

"Where'd he go?" Kai asked. 

"He was here a minute ago." Tao said.

"He went after her. Awww" Amber smiled. 

"FINALLY!" Tao and Kai said. 

She likes me. I smiled. She REALLY likes me! I ran as fast as I could. Damn she walks fast, I didn't see her anywhere. Maybe she's inside the grocery store already, I have to hurry. I ran faster and I saw her walking up ahead. 

"HEY! WAIT UP! (Your name)!" I called out. 

She stopped and looked in my direction. 

I finally caught up to her and tried to catch my breath. She waited. 

"I..." I huffed. 

She handed me her water bottle. "Breathe" she said. 

I drank the water and caught my breath. "Okay...I'm good." I said. 

"What do you want?" She asked. 

"Literally?" I smiled. 

She wasn't in the mood for jokes, she didn't smile or anything. I sighed. 

"You." I said. 

"Me? You're kidding right? Do you feel bad for me because if its out of pity then forget it. I don't need pity." She turned around and began to walk away. 

I grabbed her arm. "I'm not going to let you walk away....not again. I've been so nervous and scared that you'd reject me. You're so beautiful and cute, I thought maybe I was out of your league....that's why I avoided you."

Is he really saying this right now? Or was I hallucinating? I looked at him and his expression was serious. He looked me in the eyes as he said this. We looked at each other then he spoke again. 

"(Your name) I like you. If I didn't I wouldn't had came after you. Please give me a chance, I want to be your boyfriend." He said. 

"I've waited 5 months. That's 152.184 days I had to wait. You know how many hours that is? 3 652.421 hours. I was already getting to frustrated! You know much time you wasted? 219,145.319 minutes and NOW after 13,148 719.2 seconds you realize 'hey well I'm just going to go after her and tell her I like her too'. 3 simple words and you waited that long to tell me?" I asked. 

"Wow. You're really good at math" he smiled. 

"You're missing the point here...I question whether you really do like me or not" I said. 

"Then I'll just prove it to you" he said. 

He pulled me close and kissed me. 

I felt the butterflies in my stomach flutter and my heart pound against my chest, slow then fast. 

He pulled away, just inches from my lips. He looked into my eyes. 

"I'm sorry for making you wait so long...." He whispered then kissed me again.
