The King and His Shield
Description
'A king cannot fend for himself, you know,' Daehyun used to say. Because it was true; sometimes the ones with the most power were the weakest.
Youngjae was the king.
Daehyun had vowed to protect Youngjae ever since he was five. From that time where Youngjae fell down from the tire swing crafted by Daehyun. And Daehyun did keep his promise- he was always protecting Youngjae. Always by his side. And always with him. Like a shield.
Youngjae just didn't know.
When hell blows up and Youngjae discovers a scarring secret, he proposes a runaway. To get away from the monster and the kingdom.
To escape...
But they would never really escape from the monster, would they? They would always be in its clutches.
Unless someone decides to make a sacrifice.

Foreword
Okay. Just a warning that the description was just like a 'persona'. The story isn't really going to take place in a kingdom or a castle with a king or a shield. They represent the different things in Youngjae's life, and the story is simply going to take place in the present.
Just to clarify; Youngjae and Daehyun are brothers. Like blood brothers. And they are not going to be romantically interested in each other.
Oof I hope that won't stop you from reading haha.
This is a story for the ~Story Behind the Song~ Writing Contest (B.A.P & their songs) and the song this is based on is 'With You'.
Many things inspired this, really... With You's lyrics, King & Cross, Antonia Michaelis' The Storyteller, even sullisaint's fanfic. Abuse does exist and horrible things happen to people everyday.
