I'm Back Until I Die

Description

Death clung to his pale skin like his thin clothes, enveloping him in a fearful embrace. His eyes pasting the floor as he stepped ahead. While a tiny, amused smile sat in the corner of his lips, his gaze held sorrow and regret.

It was all his fault, or so it seemed.

His sickness could have been controlled had he noticed it in time.

He would have turned out fine if he took the medicine: only two pills a day.

It would havel been alright had he not decided to flee away from everything.

But the damage was done already, and Kibum was sentenced to leave very soon. Maybe in a year, maybe in a few months.

Three years back, he boarded a very similar plane he had just got off from, hoping that when he would return, he would be healed completely. With a wishful grin, he had bade goodbye to his homeland and left for China.

Without a word, he had left his friends behind, thinking that it was the best for them. "They will be so happy when I get back..."  he had thought in utter glee.

Without a word, he had left his lover behind, believing that when they would meet again, they would never have to part again,

And there he was, dying. He would meet all of them again, only to be separated once more.

Kibum knew that he was cruel, he knew that he would shatter the life of many. However, he couldn't bear to be away from them anymore...

Foreword

Kibum let his front teeth sink into his lower lip as he stepped into the classroom, his eyes darting around the enormous place. He had been here, three years ago. However, at that time he had been joyful, eagerly talking with many of his classmates. Now, all those people he used to know stared at him in confusion, obviously unsure of who he could be.

"Hi. I'm Kim Kibum." he whispered quietly, eyes kept on the floor."I... I used to live in Korea, but left to America quite a few years back." he lied expertly, deep down wishing that the boy in the last row whose eyes didn't even seem to be set on him would yell 'liar' and hug him, saying that he was forgiven. Desperately, he glanced into those deep brown orbs, searching for any signs of remembrance.

With a dejected sigh, he had to realize that there was none.

"Has he really forgotten me?"

Kim Jonghyun had always been a curious person. However, his undying need to know something dulled remarkably when the only one for whom his heart has ever beaten left, leaving his life destroyed.

And three years later, there he was once more.

Pale, thin and blond, but still the same.

Kibum.

Somehow, Jonghyun wished he couldn't see him anymore.
