INTRODUCTION - PEACH PETALS   Baekhyun hated these events. He hated it as much as a 5-year-old could hate something. He was dragged by his parents to what he qualified as an obnoxious and ridiculous birthday party (even if he didn't know what obnoxious really meant) where he was later left alone. He hated the whole situation, mostly because he was the one who was there while Baekbeom was at home playing video games and eating chips.   The garden where the birthday party was being held was big, almost as big as the house that sheltered it, with peach and cherry blossom trees surrounding it. In the middle there were small round tables aligned, each one surrounded with five colorful little chairs; in the center of each table there was a vase full of white roses and plates with varieties of snacks and candies, everything was covered with a big white tent that protected the kids from the burning sun.   "Happy Birthday Haneul" read the white banner hanging in between two pillars in the back part of the house, where two men disguised as princes were handing pink and white balloons to the children that passed by; there were a lot of kids, most were of around his age and he recognized some of his classmates.   Do Kyungsoo was there with Oh Sehun and Huang Zitao. He was ok with Sehun and Tao because their fights were funny, but something about the way Kyungsoo looked at him made him feel uncomfortable. He really didn’t like Kyungsoo, and he was sure it was a reciprocal feeling.   He also saw Kim Minseok, one of Baekbeom's video games' buddies, along with Wu Yifan and Luhan. The three of them were sitting on a table while laughing at a joke Yifan just told.   Kim Jongdae , who was a year older than him, was fooling around, disturbing some other kids, meanwhile Kim Joonmyeon, his cousin, was trailing behind him with a bunch of lollipops in his hands and a drowsy Zhang Yixing by his side.   Park Chanyeol was laughing and running around with other kids, once he saw him, he loudly yelled "Bacon!" making everyone turn their heads towards Baekhyun.   And finally, he saw Kim Jongin, Jongdae's and Minseok's youngest brother, coming out of the house, but he was not alone, a little girl had her fingers intertwined with his. She was wearing a short pink floral dress with a pair of silver ballerinas; she had long black hair and a plastic tiara on top of her head. She seemed to be tired and her eyes were red and swollen. Jongin was patting her back and moving both their hands back and forth while whispering something only she could hear. She nodded to whatever Jongin told her and put a smile on her face while both of them made their way to the tables.   He saw how Jongin made the girl sit at the table were the older kids were, just beside Minseok who started to her hair. Joonmyeon appeared out of nowhere and put all of his lollipops in front of her, to which the little girl smiled widely. “I’ve been collecting them for you.” Joonmyeon said. “You can eat them all by yourself, but don’t eat them all at once because your stomach may hurt and you may cry and I don’t want you to cry.” She nodded in response.
