I'll Protect You

Description

Their parents had been friends all throughout but to what Minjoo doesn't know was why Sehun hated her all along. Or at least, that's how it seemed. But truth to be told, Sehun didn't know that he was in love with her. It was a day late before he realized that he was irrevocably in love with her. On the day of her wedding, everything was supposed to be too late but her fiance suddenly called of the wedding and left her in front of the altar, leaving her with nothing but fear and shame. But on that moment, one thing Sehun realized as the tears came swimming down her cheeks, he needs to make her smile again and promise that from that day on, she will never hurt again because no matter what happens, no matter how hard and painful it may be, he will protect her.

Foreword

"Yah," Sehun looked at her helplessly and stole the glass of vodka from her grasp, savouring the taste of the liquor lingering against his tongue. "Your parents are worried. I need to take you home."

"You must be happy that I'm in misery, right?" She looked at him and smiled bitterly. "You must be happy that I, Yoo Minjoo is in pain!" Minjoo shouted in the rooftop, standing from her seat. "Hey!" She shouted, although, she wasn't really adressing anyone. "Luhan! You got my life fcked up! Job well done!" She screamed, ironically raising the bottle of vodka over her head, "cheers!"

"Oh Sehun," she called out his name, her slurry speech immediately caught his attention. She had been drinking for a while now. Ever since the day that her fiance broke off the wedding, Minjoo had been doing the same habit of drinking.

Everyday she would drown herself with the liquor swimming down . It was her only escape from all the pain engulfing her. For just a few moment, she could forget the damage he had done.

"So, tell me your secret Sehun." Minjoo said, smiling at him. "How do you win all the girls you bring at home, huh? Do you flirt them, let them fall for the silent type, or try to be that mysterious man to make them hooked?"

"Minjoo, you're drunk."

"I am drunk but I know what I'm saying." Minjoo shouted, her eyebrows creasing as anger thrilled her body. Slowly, her body relaxed and her tension turned into a smile. "You should be happy now. You were right. You were right about him cheating. You were right that I should have broken up with him but do you know what's worse? You were right that he didn't love me even one bit. I gave up everything for him. I changed myself just to make him like me but what happened? Just when I thought that he was already in love with me, he just run off."

"Minjoo," he started, his voice was pleading, soothing, even. He at her and saw everything right through her eyes. It had been two months since that incident happened but the worst case was, she was still here, sulking.

"Now, tell me, Sehun. What're your tactics? You're just like him, right?" She latched her hand in the railing. Her weary eyes locking with his. "You must've been happy when you saw me crying pathetically over a man who doesn't even care."

"Enough of this, Minjoo."

"You must've been happy that I was," before Minjoo could finish her statement, his lips was already brushing against hers. She wanted to push him but the sensation was taking over her. When they parted, she stepped aback and heard him hiss, "I said enough." His eyes were dark and gloomy but there was something more to what his eyes says.

It was all about anger or maybe jealousy.

She looked at him despisingly and shook her head, still feeling his lips lingering against hers. She immediately turned around and picked up her bag. She never thought that a kiss would be intoxicating. Although, she kept telling herself that it wasn't the kiss which was intoxicating.

It was the liquor.

And not his lips.
