from time

Description

she has always felt that there was more to her life than meets the eye.

having recently turned the big eighteen, she enters adulthood with a piqued curiosity about the world and the ongoing struggle of "finding herself", yet to no avail. when the truth arrives in complete coincidence, her journey on the path to self-discovery finally begins; and in the midst of trying to answer questions and settle facts once and for all, she finds voluntary helping hands.

what happens when those same hands are unable to let go?

“what’s the rush on commitment?”

what are you what are you so afraid of?

who you settlin for? who better for you than ya boy, huh?

Foreword

she's not one for sitting in the same spot for a long time and a lack of snacks, but the outside view is interesting to her.

it's a long blue sheet with clouds of white and grey; the atmosphere is warm from the complimentary blanket handed out by flight staff and dimly lit from the overhead lighting. when she takes a look around, her fellow passengers have resorted to catching up on sleep or watching a movie in silence.

a small sigh exhales past her lips as she stares at the huge screen up ahead in front of her, a satellite image of an airplane the very one she's on, in fact over the large body of sea they're currently flying over, a dashed red line trailing after it. the duration time tells her it won't be long before they arrive to their destination, but they're nowhere near reaching land yet. she's never left the north american continent before, nor has she been on a plane as big as this one, but she was already half way across the pacific ocean doing so.

despite the obvious differences, she begins to wonder if seoul bears any similarities to her hometown of vancouver. she'd been perfectly fine with the idea of spending a good chunk of her summer vacation staying home, watching movies on netflix in the comfort of her own bed, but her guardian convinced her otherwise. (you can do all that in another country! being his reason.)

she then turns her head to her side, taking a glance at the tall man beside her, eyes fluttered closed, faint snoozes coming from him. he was her guardian; the man who made it possible for her to travel. after all, it had been his idea in the first place and it had been his money that paid for her seat. and her accomodation. and her food. and her tuition. he'd paid for everything, without hesitation. she wasn't sure on how to thank him for everything he's done so far in her life, but she always made it known that she was thankful for him.

the next month or so in another country would be a sense of culture shock for her, but she wouldn't mind.

she likes a challenge anyway.

a/n:
hi, i guess this is a thing? just to put it in simpler terms of what this thing is:
there is 'she' aka you. there is hanbin/b.i. and there is jiwon/bobby.
hanbin and jiwon are brothers. yes, this is an au fic. yes, she has a name.

i don't like putting gaps or underscores in stories, hence an oc.
( yes, i'm using hayoung (an idol face) for the girl aka you. )
but if you want to envision yourself instead, that's cool.

i haven't written in a very long time, so i apologize for delayed updates and crappy writing.
feedback and constructive criticism is always appreciated. likes and subs and upvotes are too.
shout out to drake for giving me a story title, lyric excerpts and inspiration in general.
