Swimming in the Past
Description
Hyukjae arrived in Chancellor Oh's office. The man sat behind his desk, reading over paperwork, but set it aside when the red head cleared his throat.
"Oh! You must be Mr. Lee Hyukjae, our replacement for the English Department?" Chancellor Oh asked.
"Yes, sir," Hyukjae said, bowing.
"Nice to meet you, Mr. Lee," Chancellor Oh said with a smile.
"Thank you for accepting me, Chancellor Oh," Hyukjae replied.
"No need to be so formal, just call me Mr. Oh," the man said, smiling.
"Yes, sir," Hyukjae replied.
"Come, let me show you to your classroom," Mr. Oh said.
The red head followed the older man outside and through campus. Summer School and sports camps and sports trainnings were going on, so the campus was filled with life even if school wasn't in session.
They entered the English department, but didn't recive a warm welcome as expected.
"You want me to what? You had the audacity to ask for this mockery to be re-evaluated?" an angry voice yelled from behind a closed classroom door. "Get out of my site!"
Moments later a boy flew from a classroom, papers falling from his grip as he ran for his life toward the door Hyukjae and Mr. Oh had just entered. Tears were threatening to fall from the boy's face. Hyukjae felt bad for the lad.
"That's Lee Donghae. His teaching methods aren't ideal, but his results are mind blowing," Mr. Oh said as they passed said man's classroom.
Hyukjae peeked through the door to see a man sitting at his desk with his hands holding his head. He looked stressed and angry, but under it all, he looked sad.
"Why does he act like that?" Hyukjae asked.
"Personal problems, that's what I assume. No one really knows," Mr. Oh replied.
"Oh," came Hyukjae's response.
"Here is your classroom. I'll leave you now to unpack your things, and if you need anything, ask Mr. Lee. He won't bite - or at least I think he won't," Mr. Oh said before waving bye to the new English teacher.
