What happened to handwritten letters?

To the many crossed out words?

To all of the proofreading that is done to make sure that it's perfect?

To the sealing of the envelope and the sticking of stamps?

To sending the letter off with a fluttering heart?

To waiting anxiously for a reply?

To smiling widely when a letter does come back?

Sending text messages and emails just don't hold the same sincerity that handwritten letters do.
