Chap 9

As the meeting ended. He then hurriedly went to the park near Hwangbo’s apartment. It’s only 9:47 pm when he arrived. He then meticulously assessed the things he asked for the preparation tonight. There are balloons and Christmas lights surrounding that hidden area of the park that he and Hwangbo frequented to when they wanted to get out of the house. There is also a table covered in white sheet, adorned with her favorite flowers and food on it. The whole place screamed of elegance.

When he saw everything is perfect he then instructed their manager to let everyone to go home. 

“But who will serve the two of you?” he said

“Don’t worry hyung, everything is all covered. You take a good rest. The other members need you tomorrow. You should rest. Oh, and please park the car from where I’d instructed you before, okay.” He said

Once alone, he then looked at the beautiful place that has been a witness of how happy he was with his beloved. He again went near the table and sat on one of the chairs present and touched the white cloth and smiled sadly. Then he took his hand phone from his pocket and dialed “Where are you.” He asked

Hyun Joong was looking at Yunho checking the final touches of the event inside his car. As he watched all the decorations, he knew an event is going to happen anytime soon, that has gotten him confused and angered all at once. “Is he planning to show off again? If that is the case, I won’t forgive you for this.” he thought. But when he saw Yunho’s sad expression as he touched the table cloth his heart went out for him. He felt his pain. “Why are you so hurt Yunho?” he thought anger melted like ice cream, all that’s left was confusion and compassion for his friend. His train of thoughts is interrupted with a ring on his hand phone. 

“Yes?” he said “I’m here inside the car. I’m already coming over.” Then hanged up the phone and headed to where Yunho is.

“You’re here. Have a seat.” Yunho motioned his hand to the vacant seat across him, trying his best to control all the emotions that is killing him inside

“Are you alright?” Hyun Joong asked “You’re hands are trembling.” He said a bit worried

Yunho chuckled and cleared his throat “Yah! This is really hard for me so don’t ask me that nonsense.” He said trying all his might to be cool and to make the atmosphere a little lighter

“Yah! If you’re trying to be cool and lighten the atmosphere then you failed miserably. What is your problem? Did nuna break up with you? He asked although the news makes him want to celebrate, seeing his friend like this broke his heart. 

“Hyun Joong-ah, this is really hard for me so please answer all my questions sincerely with all your heart.” He started and again cleared the lump on his throat “Do you really like Juri-shi? Yes or no will do” 

Hyun Joong looked at Yunho intently for a minute before he answers “No.”

“Is she your accomplice to make Hye Jung jealous?” he continued

“Yes.” 

“Do you, with all your heart love Hye Jung?”

“Yes.” 

“Will you take care of her and bring her happiness no matter what?”

“Yes.”

“Will you take her if I give her up to you now?” Yunho said as his voice cracked and tears welled in his eyes. This made him take a deep breath and blinked his eyes to keep them from falling.
Hyun joong eyed Yunho in disbelief “Have you gone crazy?!” he said ambivalent with the present situation

“Yes or no Hyun Joong.” he continued

After much thought, Hyun Joong finally answered “Yes.”
Yunho nodded. “Please go back inside your car, I believe you parked it close enough to see what will happen, right? When I turn my back to her please take care of her. That is the only thing I want for this. Promise me, you’ll protect her more than I had, care for her more than I had and love her more than I had.” He said pain, determination and defeat all written on his face as he offered a handshake

“I promise.” Hyun Joong swore, accepting his hand with a tight grip

“But you must remember this, if ever I hear Hye Jung being hurt by you. I’ll do my best to take her back. Hyun Joong-ah, please don’t make me regret
